Best prices on acoustic instruments anywhere. I have been patronizing Acoustic Music for over 20 years. They are the best in the business — don’t buy acoustic instruments anywhere else. The shop is vintage and there is far too much hillbilly dust in the floorboards to warrant a remodel. I hope it never changes.

My family and I have purchased guitars, accessories, and taken lessons at this shop for over 10 years. In my opinion, this should be your first stop in Salt Lake City, if you are looking for a new or used acoustic or classical guitar, banjo or ukulele. This is not a piano store, or electric guitar shop which also sells a few acoustic guitars. This place specializes in acoustic instruments, and has the best selection of instruments, the best prices, and the best service in town. They are totally honest, and do not pressure customers to buy or upgrade. They are sensitive to the economic constraints of parents buying for children, college students on limited budgets, etc. Their teaching staff is excellent, and they have instructors in styles including classical guitar, ukulele, banjo, electric guItar and bass. There is convenient parking in the back.

The folks working here are friendly and they know their stuff. I am new in town and was looking for some good acoustic jams. I felt welcomed and I appreciated the time they spent telling me about the different acoustic jams and festivals that are around SLC area.
I just needed strings this time, but going forward, this will be my go-​to store for any musical equipment I need. I like supporting local businesses; besides, there’s no reason to go on-​line when I can get quality musical equipment from friendly, knowledgeable people at reasonable prices (and that describes Acoustic).

Another local business that I am happy to support. Very knowledgeable staff and good selection of guitars. If you are in the market for a decent guitar stop by often because they do have a decent rotation of instruments.
If you are interested in guitar lessons they also have a solid network of teachers they can provide information for.

Got an 8 string folk guitar from Mexico as a gift, one of the strings broke so I took it to these guys with a new set because I didn’t feel comfortable stringing it up. While installing the new set they broke the new E string, so they just took one of the old B strings and stuck it in there rather than just telling me. Had to pay another shop to fix the issue.
Really disappointed as a first time customer here.

Great customer service, great location, knowledgable staff. I come here to buy guitar strings and/​or get them changed. Starting my fourth year of being a customer, I would take these guys over Guitar Center any day (unless you need something other than acoustic equipment). They also have a good central location (off 4th south and 9th east). Support local!

This place is pretty awesome when it comes to stringed instruments. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and they tend to have used instruments rotating through their stock frequently; so if you don’t see something you like just wait a while and try again later!

This place is the best! In my experience it’s rare to find such great customer service. When my guitar was having some problems I took it to the big guitar store where I bought it and didn’t have much luck at all with them. So I decided to try Acoustic Music. They identified the problem immediately and were able to make a huge difference, making my guitar playable again. The price for this service at Acoustic Music was lower than the cost at the big guitar store. I have also bought harmonicas from them at competitive prices.
I highly recommend Acoustic Music.

I accompanied a friend to purchase supplies for guitar lessons. The gentleman who helped us was friendly, knowledgeable and unassuming. I was pleasantly surprised not be given the elitist attitude I have experienced in other guitar stores.
Their prices for guitar cases were slightly lower than another local store and they had a nice selection of acoustic instruments, music books and various supplies. Acoustic Music also offers lessons and I would happily endorse them to anyone needing acoustic instrument supplies or direction.
