Waterhouse’s Campground & Marina

Worst service I have ever had. We sat outside on a busy Saturday night, we even called to make sure it was ok if we arrived at 8:30 knowing they close at 9. Courtney the waitress was beyond rude, drinks and food were so slow. I had to get up twice to get my own drinks from the bar. One of the slowest and rudest waitress my family has ever dealt with, total snot. She came up to us to at the end of this fiasco and called my father the rudest customer she has ever had and that he made her cry, Courtney are you kidding? He made you cry? We will never come back, and the manager/​bar tender is a total useless twit. Grow up and deal, and your nachos are not that big to be considered a meal. Cheese on soggy old nachos, good call. Stay away, do not waste your money or time at this place. Instead head back to Middlebury or Brandon for something better, its a real shame because the pizza was not bad.

Our family has been camping there for the past 6 years. The sites are very nice, you can have your choice of sunny or shaded. The lake is a fantastic place to swim in on a hot summer day. The beach is kept clean. Plenty of picnic tables. Fantastic views, We have found the owners an d operators to be very friendly. Their store sells the necessities needed for camping or just a day at the beach. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 rating is because they don’t have full hookup’s at the sites. Water and electric at each site, and showers located throughout the campground. There is a convenient dumping station located in the campground.

I give this place 2 stars because of the price. For this lake in VT, 5 dollars for an adult and 4 dollars for all kids under 12 is a lot. They charge for ALL kids too. This is not a family friendly place. Not only that, they have various crappy boats for rent for 9 dollars an hour! When we were there we listened to and smelled the portable outhouses being cleaned for half an hour, then the fuel truck pulled up and was running until we left. And all this for 20 bucks. Its clear why no one was at this beach, while Branbury Beach was packed. We won’t make this mistake again.
