By far the best grocery store in Salisbury, NC… your typical mid-higher quality store that defines what Harris Teeter is, but obviously not at the level of Whole Foods or the specialty of Fresh Market(closest one is Cornelius, about 45 mins away). I think Salisbury could handle a 2nd Harris Teeter on the other end of town.

This is a very good grocery store, 5 stars would be Charlotte’s HT and Whole Foods. For Salisbury, this is hands down the best. Plenty of friendly staff, seldom wait more than a minute to checkout. As mentioned in the other posts; great deli and seafood/meat sections. Varied selections, far more than Walmart or Food Lion. Costs more? Maybe a quarter here and there. But then there are always sales and different vendors will be doing buy one get one free or $ 1.50 off for two … but you only have to buy one to get that price. I also buy Harris Teeter brand items, which are as good or better than major brands, I kill at saving money shopping here! Just thought I would post because I was looking for the store hours on Google and this showed up. Hope the HT manager reads this … YOUHAVEGREATPEOPLEWORKINGFORYOU! So you must be doing something right … ;)

I had a hard time rating this store because, if I am comparing it to other Harris Teeter stores I would have to give it a 3, if I am comparing it to other grocery stores in Salisbury I have to give it a 5. People complain that HT has higher prices but if you watch for sales and sign up online for the e-Vic program you get emails that let you know when the stuff you buy the most is on sale plus all of the special e-vic specials. They always have a ton of cashiers available and you usually don’t have to wait in a long line. I have never experienced unfriendly or unhelpful person as this HT. Again, some other HT stores I have been to are bigger and offer more specialty products, which I personally wish they did offer more because this is the one store in town where I can usually count on to carry items that are unique and different.

I wouldn’t shop at Harris Teeter unless it was absolutely necessary… and even then I’d have second thoughts. Of all the grocery chains in Salisbury, HT far and away has the highest prices on basic food items, and it’s completely unnecessary. Their produce isn’t necessarily any better than any of the others stores, but I will give it to them that they do have a generally good clean appearance; and they do have a much better(bigger) selection of items than some of the other chains as well… although you do still have to pay more for them. But I definitely disagree with some of the other reviews because it’s a problem throughout the grocery chains in Salisbury where the front end(office or cashiers or baggers) is filled with idiot teenagers with facial piercings, kids chewing on gum, and showing more concern for whatever moronic hijinks they’ll get into once they’re off the clock rather than caring for your groceries. But my biggest grip is with the prices. I see no reason why their prices on things such as cookies, cereal, etc… are typically $.50 to $.75 higher at Harris Teeter than other places in Salisbury.

I used to shop at the«Home Grown» Food Lion and I switched to HarrisTeeter. Food Lion is a shorter distance and I would have to say that the prices maybe a dime or so more OK so here is what you get for that subtle price difference. 1) A Cleaner Store 2) Better Customer Service(Do not see any cashiers chomping on gum and talking on their cell phone 3) Produce has a wider selection and all the items are always fresh, also I seem to not have to dodge smashed grapes on the floor ! 4) I eat a lot of seafood and they always have great selection from scallops to shrimp to fish and at «The Other Guy» Well not so much. Well. if you consider Gordons fish sticks as seafood . 5) Meat Dept. they have Prime cuts to Bologna and will cut, cube, and ground anything 6) Deli need I say more Sushi! I Also Love those sub daily specials meats breads and cheeses and 9 times out of 10 when I taste one of those free samples I buy it. Why doesn’t the other guy have free samples? Well maybe they don’t want you to taste it before you buy it? Imagine that A grocery store that does want you to taste the food before buying it? So its your choice … Clean, Fresh, Great Variety and Great Service Did I say a Clean Store? You Decide…
