So happy to see Foote’s open again! Foote’s has the best onion rings! Went tonight and they are just the same. crispy big batter but not too much… they are absolutely delicious! Never had their ice cream… Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Unfortunately Footes was a disappointment. Tasteless food and very small portions especially for the amount of money they charge.

What a weird experience! I ordered cookie dough on a cone and it was MEH at best. Absolutely not homemade(or high quality). Realizing that chocolate sprinkles would probably go a long way, I asked for a small cup of chocolate sprinkles. I was told that it was ‘against the rules’ to sell just a cup of sprinkles and they can only put them directly on a cone. No reasoning or rational thinking behind this, just a bizarre and frustrating rule. It’s tempting to go there after being at Salsbury State Park all day, but don’t bother!

Good food, but it’s way too expensive for the amount of food you get. It’s cheaper to eat at the beach. Ice cream isn’t that great… The location is weird being that you are basically in someone’s front yard. The people who work there are not very friendly. The only reason why they are in business is because the people that go to the beach think it’s more expensive to eat there, so on the way home they bring their famished selves to this place.

Not impressed with this place at all. The women behind the counter were clearly not thrilled to be there and acted like we were bothering them — we were the only customers at the counter at that moment. I find it annoying and a waste of time when you have to order your food at one window then have to go wait in a different line to order milkshakes. make the customers experience smooth — let them order at the same time! We had 2 milk shakes — one size only — and those were $ 11.70, for 2 milk shakes! If they were actually decent tasting I would not have cared, but they tasted blah and were not the right consistency and they were not that big. We also ordered some food: hamburger was over cooked, the hotdog we got for our daughter was horrible, scallops didn’t taste like anything. Onion rings were big and looked good, but again, no flavor. we will not be going back.

I have to say, I’ve been going past Foote’s on my way to the beach all my life & I’ve only ever gotten ice cream there. Oftentimes, they are closed far earlier than many other stands in the area. Going as an adult, I find the flavors more limited than other stands. They do make their own ice cream but don’t have purple ow(my fave) or peanut butter sauce. The peanut butter flavor is pretty tasty. I’ve been known to go out of my way for great ice cream. I wouldn’t go out of my way for Foote’s, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t stop if a craving hit as I was passing by.

We stopped here on our way home from the beach. Just spotted it on the side of the road, thought it looked good and gave it a shot. We ordered the fried clams with french fries, an order of onion rings and a hamburger. We spent over $ 22 for these items! It was the fried clams that were so expensive, but we figured hey, it’s seafood. We were very disappointed. The fried clams and fries were clearly fried in the same oil along with other fried foods… you could taste traces of the other food. The fries were soggy and lackluster. The onion rings were good. Large and crunchy. The hamburger was undercooked(and I’m not a «well-done kind of gal», I like medium but this was too pink). We could have taken it back but decided it wasn’t worth the hassle of fighting the biting horse flies that were everywhere. Stop at your own risk and be prepared to shell out some money(oh, and it’s cash only).

This place is exactly what you’re looking for: An icecream shack on the side of the road! The parking lot could have been set up better…(picture me and C almost getting run over by a car) but the people are warm and the ice-cream is cold! Not«road trip» worthy, but definetly worth a stop if you’re driving by and it happens to be open. Be adventurous and try the seafood… I didn’t but i’m really curious. So be a guinea pig for me, won’t ya!

Three stars for the memories and their unpretentious longevity, and an extra star for the blinking WOW! sign. Stuff just keeps getting built up around it, though, so they look a little long of tooth. Don’t worry about that. Would’ve been a five star review if they stayed open a little later at night The ice cream is good. I know most everyone goes to Hodgies and Memories, but I like Footes. The portions are more reasonable to my eyes. I like a scoop of banana on the bottom and a scoop of coconut on top. Been stopping here for about 25 years either before or after hitting the beach. They sell typical greasy seafood, too, but that doesn’t appeal as often as a little cone by the blinking WOW!
