Haven’t been here for many years and thought of trying since our favorite spot was too busy. Here we were seated immediately and the parking lot nearly full. Is it divey? No, I don’t think so. Walk in the door and there is the bar with lots of patrons. TVs hanging, booths and open tables for selections. Music playing in the background which you can’t hear very well when it is busy. Prices are a bit higher than when we were last here, which was about the time the restaurant name changed. That was well over 10 years though and compared to other restaurants around, these are average prices. Got a cup of clam chowder which was delicious! They also had fish chowder with haddock, but I chose the clam. Next is the All American Burger with cheese, medium well. Delicious and plenty of food for a small appetite. I will return here if in the mood for a cup of chowder and quick burger.

A group of friends, my wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for several Friday nights during this past boating season. Given our group size of around 8 it can be a challenge to get seated quickly and be served a hot tasty meal to everyone at once. We have been impressed with the staff’s ability to get us seated quickly and provide timely and delicious meals each visit. The bar service has been friendly and attentive and the waitstaff likewise were helpful and quick with drinks and bringing food out timely and following up to be certain we were all pleased with everything. We will definitely continue to come and enjoy this place!

I was just there and this is the most disgusting place to visit well ok vacation. I asked for a herb burger(medium) they give me a dripping blood bright pink burger. And I went on trivia night so all the time I was there was a loud obnoxious voice over the speakers there. Definitely not a place to go.

A poor example of a quality restaurant. Expensive yet low quality food. Guarantee out of business in 6 months… unless they are paying for reviews and phoney television spots. Maybe a car repair garage will be better suited for this location… could probably keep existing staff and justify ridiculous prices

Saw this restaurant on Wicked Bites. They raved about how great the food was. I got Cesar salad with steak tips on it. My salad was 4.00 and my 4 pieces of tips were 14.00. TERRIBlE !!! The Cesar salad was nothing more than Romaine lettuce ripped up in very large pieces with croutons thrown on top… The steak tips were so tough they had to slather the barbecue sauce on to cover up the bad taste. Shame on you Pat Whitley and Wicked Bites for lying about this place. Oh and by the way they don’t even bread the chicken fingers. They buy them frozen. Tsk. Tsk

Always enjoy the food here. If you want a classic all american burger or a 16 ounce new York sirloin that will make your mouth water, this is the place. Also the owner and her staff are very friendly and fast. I’m am happy to say this place rocks. I highly recommend this establishment.

This is def a place for regulars, but more so the staff to hang out. If the staff is not working they are just hanging out here. The bartenders boyfriends are always at the bar drinking. seems like the owners don’t mind at all. this takes away from customers being able to come in & get a seat at the bar. The food is pretty good & they are fast. A bit overpriced for this kind of place… It’s nothing fancy. just a local watering hole. Have stopped in sometimes before closing & the bartenders wish you had not even come in. saying they have stopped serving food, but yet a party of 8 just walked into the dining room & just ordered. REALLY??? To bad the owners don’t tell their staff that boyfriends should not be hanging out at the bar for their entire shift. and hanging out waiting to go on smoke breaks with them… it;s a turn off big time. They have it set up that the bartender is the only person to take care of the lottery machine. So people are either waiting for drinks or waiting for lottery. They should move that whole set up near the hostess desk & have a girl there doing it. Since many times I see the hostess sitting there doing nothing. The place is small I think people can seat themselves. Don’t things will change… as a business owner I hope Neil & his wife read reviews people write. I would.

We had a Groupon to use, that is why we went here. I had fish, it was good. My husband had ribs, he didn’t like them. The atmosphere was lousy. The place smelled like beer soaked carpet and the dining room is open to the bar. There was a drunk yelling at the top of his lungs the whole time we tried to dine. The menu was expensive, too expensive for the atmosphere. Everything we tried to order had an ‘extra’ charge that was not reflected on the menu. Each entrée came with 2 sides, my husband tried for salad as a side, waitress said that was an extra charge. I got a seafood combo and wanted the fish baked but the clams fried. Extra charge if it’s baked. Overall, I would not go back, too expensive for what it was and I didn’t like the bar smell.

What a poor value. The prices reflect a 5 star dining experience. What we got was ho-hum and the worst service in many years. We ordered the least expensive item on the menu after looking at 24 $-26 $ entrees. What we got were 2 hamburgers @ $ 11 each that were tasteless. Never saw the waitress again after serving our meals. It was Friday and all waitresses were in a hurry to close out the evening and move on to bigger and better things. We live in Newburyport and will never go back to this rip-off. They really know how to screw the tourist. I haven’t left a $ 1 tip in 50 years on a $ 40 tab but felt that I was being generous at that. The menu definitely changes in value depending on the season. Beware!!! KenS

I had a rather pleasant expierience here. I can’t complain. Good food. Very good service. Our waitress was bubbly and cheerful. She was a doll! HOWEVER, I have one complaint that I feel is valid. The pricing…17 dollars for a plate of pasta is a bit… expensive. I feel if they adjust the prices, they could get more business. But the pricing is my only complaint. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

I went here yesterday for lunch after our two top choices were either packed, or closed for renovations. First — my fiancé’s drink was supposed to come out as a frozen drink — it came with just ice. Sent it back and then it just tasted like vodka with blue food coloring(was supposed to be an electric lemonade). My 7-yo ordered the steak tips and they were tough and difficult to chew. They were also $ 9, which, I felt was a bit steep for a kid’s meal. My fiancé’s burger was well-done, he asked for it to be medium-rare. The waitress was decent and took off the cost of the burger. My meal was decent and the bbq sauce was quite tasty. Otherwise, this would have garnered a 1 star. Won’t be back.

I am new to the area and checking out new places to go out to eat, I would NEVER come back here! The reviews were decent, but my experience was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had! I am a bar person, and the bartender took 5 minutes(being in service I pay attention) to ask if I wanted another drink, she was not busy, just at the other end of the bar talking to other employees and patrons. When I placed my order, I told her that I was very hungry, and wanted my salad before my meal. My salad never came, and the meal was just ok, nothing worth the $ 20+ for scallops, which had very little flavor. I was never asked how my meal was, and my finished meal sat in front of me for nearlyn10 minutes! For $ 40, it was NOT A GOODVALUE! For $ 10 less I had a better meal, in a busier, yet more attentive atmosphere just down the road. I can only seen tourist season, or their lottery sales keeping this place afloat, which is really too bad, it has potential.

After reading some reviews, I was a little nervous to try this place. My friends and I were seeing a comedy show at Salisbury beach so we figured what the hell we’ll give a shot. The atmosphere is cute, very rustic tavern hence its name. It was very clean as well. The menu is your basic bar food: steaks, chicken, seafood, burgers, wraps etc. I had the Veggie wrap which was delicious… but the star of the show was definitely the onion rings. They were cooked perfect so that when you bit into them you didnt take the whole onion and leave the batter. It was so good! My only compliant would be the waitress. While she was very nice it was as though she was on speed! Talked so fast, was basically throwing the food at us, and although she said we could take our time with the check she came over like every 5 secs to check to see if we were ready to pay. The place isnt even that big and by the looks of it she was only serving like 3 tables so I dont know what she was rushing for? Anyways I would give this place a shot and definitely try the onion rings!

This was once a 5 star restaurant in our eyes but recently they’ve been downgraded to a 3 star. We were recommended by friends to stop by as the owner’s family used to run a seafood restaurant in Haverhill … the only place my husband would order fried haddock. When we first started going, the seafood was not as pricy and it was always HOT, HOT, HOT out of the fryer. The seafood is still fresh and plentiful but much more pricey now and the last few times we’ve gone, our meals were luke-warm. We’re not ones to complain so we just ate our meals. They recently were featured in an «groupon-like» program so we bought a few and visited yesterday … our conclusion, still the same. Plenitful but luke-warm. We’ll still stop in when we’re in the area but they’re no longer on the top of our list.

This used to be a place where you could go for a drink and some inexpensive lunch after a day on the beach. I came here today, with my grandparents, and my poor grandmother only wanted some delicious fall off the bone ribs. The ones she got were only dry, but served cold. When she complained the waitress took«a few dollars» off a 20 $ half rack of ribs. The manager said«this is the way we serve them». It was rude, and inappropriate. I’ll never go back.

Came here last year & it was good. This year the prices have increased dramatically. They’ve priced themselves out of the family friendly range. Would stop in for Keno & a drink but that’s about it. The service is pretty good as well.

I ate here a few years ago and the food was good. So, I decided to return. The must have a new/substitute cook. he didn’t know how to make what was on the menu. The bake stuffed shrimp was dry, overcooked and made with canned seasoned Italian breadcrumbs instead of cracker crumbs. I returned the first plate thinking it might have been an error. The second plate came back the same. I won’t be going back. It also seems that the bar business is taking precedence over the food.
