I’ve liked Mac’s for years. I’ve torn into my share of fried clams and lobster rolls in the past. I decided to take the family there for lunch a few days ago; This is my account. The bread was perfect, as always. It is pretty much the same poppy seed bread served at the Real Seafood restaurants, so I guess they both either use the same recipe or source. Either way, it is really good. This time around I wanted to give the perch sandwich a try. It consisted of a nice amount of perch on a good bun, nicely cooked and curled, with a little metal basket of fries and a pickle. Nothing stood out as amazing, but it was what I wanted. My wife and father in law ordered the half sandwich and soup. They each ordered the lobster roll version, which cost $ 16 each. They each received what was probably only an quarter of a lobster roll(maybe two inches of bread, if that), with a small cup of soup. I almost went that route, but was glad I didn’t. I’ll be back again for sure, but my guests were sure disappointed by the expensive skimping.

Two words: HAPPYHOUR! my fiancé and I were in the mood for oysters but did not feel like dealing with the hustle and bustle of Ann Arbor(where we live), so decided to try something new. I remembered seeing a sign about«$ 1.25 oysters» in their window when driving by once, so we made the drive to saline to check it out! We got there on a Saturday about 6pm and went nuts on the happy hour menu. We ordered 10 oysters, 2 bloody Mary’s and a beer(all great!). Also, with each cocktail we were given a little bowl of approx 10 streamed, buttery, garlicky mussels(omg amazing!). Our will was $ 24 and we left very happy. Server= so nice and professional. It was also very nice to be able to park close and FORFREE! we are going to saline more often! Love it!

We had been loyal customers for the past 13 years. Dining with family, extended family, friends, and large parties in their banquet facility. However, our past view visits over the last couple of years have been terrible with both food and service. Recently we made reservations to celebrate my daughters birthday. We were met with a waitress that was clearly sick by the sound of her nasal noises(needless to say our appetites left), and poor attitude with service. She flatly acknowledged my daughters birthday seeing our gifts on the table and offered her a free entrée and dessert. After giving us a hard time on a simple request, the waitress took 20 minutes to send over a manager for the inquiry. The manager finally arrived and was rude in her demeanor and responses, only to send the waitress back after another 15 minutes reluctantly honoring the request(one that the staff has offered my children for 10 years, noodles with alfredo sauce). The entire time we watched while the waitress sat at a table talking with other staff members. We sat 50 minutes before receiving bread on the table. They were out unapologetically of the white fish(again, 3rd occasion), both the waitress and manager acted as if it was my fault for requesting the dish on their menu. Did not offer any suggestions, walked away rudely saying she would be back(50 min later). I ordered the crab cakes, they came and were out remoulade, the sauce streaks that did come on the plate were crusted hard onto the plate. The potato pancakes arrived cold and burnt on bottom, the sour cream warm. The cole slaw arrived warm. The salmon dish arrived dry and overcooked. Jumbo shrimp dish was flat on flavor. The food arrived by kitchen staff. All the while our waitress no where in sight. No one came by to check on us after meal received. The water girl brought my daughter her dessert. The waitress reappeared with the check. The water girl came for the check and requested my daughters birth certificate. We don’t carry her birth records with us, and had not expected a free birthday meal. They then rescinded the birthday offer and added both her meal and dessert to to the bill. This was on the managers orders to give us a «rain check» on the offer, only with birth records. Not once did a smile or pleasant behavior appear from the manager or waitress. They set a terrible tone/energy and ruined our birthday celebration. NOTHANKS, WEWILLNOTBERETURNING!

Tried mac’s again. It’s still hit or miss. I have to say the brown vinyl tablecloths remind if something bed Flanders would have in his pub. I miss the nice fresh white tablecloths and the paper over the top with the crayons. This time my husband who was scared to order anything else, due to being so disappointed with other dishes this past year, ordered the gumbo. He said it had been microwaved. It had cold spots and hot spots in it. I had a lovely house salad with chicken on it, that was very nice. The lettuce was fresh the dried cherries were good as was the grilled chicken. The service was a tiny bit slow but our server was very nice.

Had the fish and chips. Was kinda overpriced for what you get but not too outrageous… Haven’t been back since.

First time visiting this restaurant, Great food, great atmosphere. Great for a date night. Yummy food, we had alligator for appetizer, Jambalaya and fish for dinner. Definitely would return.

Went back to Mac’s after a hiatus of 26 months. A spur-of-the-moment decision to head to Saline for a meal. No reservation. Decided to sit at the bar for a cocktail with a wait of «15 to 20 minutes» and informed the hostess of our intentions. After 45 minutes, checked in on the delay. «Sorry, we missed you.» Skipped over. Went to Dan’s Downtown Tavern, across the street, for consistently outstanding service and the best burgers in Washtenaw County. Sorry Mac’s. See you in another two years — maybe.

We went for my dad’s birthday and he got a free dessert and entrée. My favorite thing about this place is the ipad menus with a picture of everything you could possibly order. The food was excellent but the wine was expensive.

I sat outside a few weeks ago for drinks with a friend. We were seated immediately and ordered a bottle of wine to start out. My friend ordered the crab avocado stack to split as a snack. While we were waiting on the wine and food the manager came out to drop off some hot bread and butter. He asked us if my 8 lb. dog was a service dog, which he is not. It was only annoying because he asked us after we had ordered food and drinks and had been there at least 20 minutes. Once informed that we had already ordered food and drinks and that if he would go ahead and cancel our meal we would leave, he said that the dog was fine. I’m not a fan of berating people with quiet dogs when you’re sitting outside but you have to do what you have to do. After the slight hassle about my dog everything else was great. The waitress was very kind, if not slightly absent but that’s okay. I will still go back, probably just not with my dog this time. Note for future use though, do NOT come up to someone and ask if their dog is a service dog AFTER they’ve ordered. Tell them right away that you don’t want their money rather than waiting. Dan’s Downtown right across the street had no problem with my dog staying with us on the patio nor did Breckon Grille so there are options if you want your little one going.

Mac’s is a great place to eat! Love their Cajun style dishes and their seafood selection is always good. Try the seafood gumbo or gumbo ya ya. Very good. Their specials are always good and very interesting. I would give them 5 stars but they are a little over priced and they have a very large dining room that fills up fast. As a result, they don’t execute great when they are very busy. Go on a slower day like Wednesday or Thursday and birthday dinners are buy one get one free. Also, if you like calamari, they tend to cook it lightly and not rubberize it! Yum! Garlic and white wine mussels are also excellent. If you like raw oysters, they have a decent oyster bar.

Came here for a work dinner with 7 people. We tried to get into Salt Springs but the wait was over an hour. Here, no wait, in fact, no body outside or inside at 7pm. Now I know why. The meal was average, service was below standard. Buffalo Shrimp — Sweet like BBQ, not buffalo. Still a decent flavor but meh. Crab Cakes — Mostly filling, dry, needed an aioli. Whatever was on the plate was just a way to color the plate. I asked for a side of both sauce that are on the plate, and they were flavorless. I ended up using the cajun aioli that comes with the sweet potato fires on ym crap cakes. Yay flavor! Bread pudding was under done, but the ice cream that came with it was epic. House salad, good. Blue cheese is thin, and a bit sour.

Simply known locally as Mac’s, this fish and seafood mainstay in the heart of downtown Saline provides a casual but classy atmosphere with plenty of exposed brick and track lighting. One of Mac’s signature dishes that always satisfies is the Lobster Fettuchini. All three of us wasted no time in getting our orders in for this delicious entrée. The dish combines plenty of lobster meat with large rock shrimp buried in a mountain of delicious Fettuchini Alfredo. We thoroughly enjoyed our seafood pasta with cold draft beer in frosted mugs and a glass of a nice Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Service was great tonight and as always a nice experience all around. 4 big stars for Mac’s.

Love this place. Service has always been wonderful. We go at least once every 2 weeks. Particularly enjoy the reduced prices on some food and drinks at happy hour. Probably my go-to meal is the crab salad.

Exceptional service. The wait staff does a very good job at being attentive but not overbearing. The bar staff is second to none. The menu has a certain Cajun feel to it but also very had a wide variety of seafood. The Mango avocado crab stack is exceptional.

Drove 30 minutes to the restaurant hoping for something special but was disappointed. Started with a fish cake appetizer that was more mashed potatoes than fish. It promised haddock and cod but was like an undercooked hush puppy and cold inside. My wife had crab cakes while I tried broiled white fish with potato pancakes. The crab cakes were filled with more breaking than lump crab. My potato pancakes were tasteless. The white fish was good. This was not a destination dining spot. The service was good after waiting for five minutes for our waitress to show up. When we complained about the fish cakes, she brought out a fresh one that was hotter. Bottom line, for the $ 80 we spent, I don’t think it was worth the money. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Won’t be back.

Seafood is never my first choice but when I go to a supplier and we need a lunch break I go anyplace. I have my go to selection of Lake Perch and they offered it two ways, one as a sandwich and another as a meal. After much deliberation I chose the Fish and Chips. This is exceptionally good F&C. The breading was just right, not too heavy. The fries could have been a little hotter but they were pretty good. I just wish I could have had a pint with this meal, but maybe after work next time. There are even a few television around the restaurant area and we had a chance to catch a tourney game. SCORE!

This place has a great range of seafood — from freshly broiled swordfish steaks to oyster po boys. I’ve had both, and they are tasty! My boyfriend likes their oysters on the half shell for an appetizer, and we both love the cajun sweet potato wedges! I love that they will alter the spice to your preference. For dessert, try the unbelievably rich chocolate mousse. They also have a good wine, beer and cocktail menu.

I went here for my birthday, and it was amazing! Birthday person gets their meal for free, plus a free dessert. And, it was a Wednesday, so it was ½ off signature cocktails. The price was right, and the food was delicious. Nice not to have to hassle with the people and parking in A2. Highly recommend!

Cajun themed seafood restaurant. Late dinner with a friend. They need to mark ALL their non-functioning doors with where the darn entrance can be found. Only the third door came across showed an arrow and said the entrance was in the promenade behind the building! Little frustrating and the host was a jerk about it but whatever. We choose Mac’s for location and seafood fare. Super bonus for stopping in a Tuesday night to find ½ bottles of wine! Great drink, wine and beer selection. We ordered a bottle of Oyster Bay NZ Sauv Blanc. Food prices were reasonable. You don’t want cheap when considering seafood. We ordered a cheese board to start. It was a nice presentation but fell short with some sort of american cheese food slices, half a strawberry and two slices of green apple — along with Dill Havarti, Gouda and herbed spread. Great crackers though. Waitress was knowledgeable and made a great suggestion with the shrimp and grits appetizer with sausage. It was great! I am not a huge grits fan, but this dish was perfect. Right amount of spice, grits weren’t overpowering the shrimp, sausage was flavor full and added a nice touch. Friend had crab cake dinner. She said it was good. Two large cakes with rice. Swapped slaw for veggies. Small arugula salad on the plate too. If it wasn’t for the good crab cakes and shrimp and grits dish, I would give this place 3 stars but we will be back to try more of menu. Hopefully they will have crab legs next time.

After my last couple attempts to go to the Clinton Inn, I figured that my b-day dinner needed a little change of venue. However, I didn’t want to drive very far, so Mac’s was it. Oh how glad we were about that decision! We got there, and as I was looking over the menu, noticed that your b-day dinner is FREE! I’m talkin’ free(w/the purchase of another equal value meal)! On top of that, I got a nice little scoop of ice cream for free too. It has to be the day of your birthday, but I just can’t get over what a good deal that was. I was also very happy that they carry a nice New Zealand Sauv. Blanc. I actually just bought the same bottle for home use, and there it was on the menu. Thanks x3(free meal, dessert, good wine). We had the following: 1. Lobster ravioli — very lobster-filled. Sauce was cream-based, but actually kinda light, which was nice as it didn’t take away from the lobster. 2. Salmon — the fish was cooked TOPERFECTION! 3. Jambalaya — a little too heavy on the chicken(I would have liked to see the«nicer» shrimp, more of said shrimp, and less of the chicken) The house salad, as always, was perfect. I love that they use field greens, cheese, dried cherries, and other goodies. Totally worth the upgrade with your meal. Thanks Mac’s… I had a fantastic evening, made even more fantastic by getting a delicious birthday present.
