Just played 9 today for the first time at Brookside and found it to be an excellent intermediate level course. Very few water obstacles and for the most part, wide fairways make the front 9 a very user friendly course. At just $ 13 for 9 or $ 20 for 18 with a cart it is also an affordable couple of hours of fun! On the downside, there may be a few extra hackers out there that may slow your game down. These golfers(yeah, I’m talking about you threesome) may not be aware of the basic courtesies like allowing others to play through and taking your wedge and putter to the green instead of walking back to cart to get them individually!!! Other than that it was a great way to spend a fantastic fall afternoon!

Brookside is an excellent golf course for the casual golfer. The scenery is actually fairly nice, with a nice variety of terrain, with several creeks and lakes. The actual grass is often has some maintenance issues. Mole holes are common, and it can get pretty gross after a lot of rain. It’s a great value though. About $ 20 for 18. I grew up playing this course and it has a fond place in my heart.

This is the equivalent of a hole in a wall diner… but for golf. It’s a lil dingy… a lil old… but for the price isn’t that bad. i think it’d be a great place for someone who just started to play. It’s pretty hard to lose a ball and the holes run pretty short. There’s a little bit of water, a few small bunkers, and there pretty much wasn’t a difference between fairway and rough… I suggest this course to beginners and people who just want to play casually… if you’re an average to hard-core golfer. don’t waste your time, you’ll be disappointed. well… you might be able to get the best scoring round of your career. a positive bonus was the $ 1 hotdogs. =)

I learned the game at Brookside, back when there was only nine holes. It’s fully grown now, with 18 holes and a clubhouse where you can grab a beer and a burger after your round. The holes aren’t long, so the greens have to make up for it. They’re tiny, and shaped like upside-down bowls. If you don’t get near the pin, your ball will likely roll off the bowl. So, from tee-to-green, it’s a fun round. On the greens — not so much.

I like this golf course. Partly for shallow reasons. It looks good, nicely designed with smooth rolling greens. Hey, even when you pull up and enter the club house it looks good. Then I feel good and I am ready to play. Definitely one of the higher standard courses around this area.
