I fish light tackle rockfish, and stripers in the surf. I have been going to this store for about 15 years. They have always been knowledgeable and provided me with good service. What I really like about the shop, is that they repair rods, and reels. My repairs have always come back first rate. I’ve only had one problem, about 5 years ago with a rude employee. They also on the fishing tackle store in Hollister California.

Went in looking to get help on my ocean fishing and buy some gear. Dude talked down to me the entire time. He treated me like an idiot. Very pushy and just straight up rude. Most of his gear was overpriced either way. He came off as the kind of person who hates their jobs and hates people. If that’s the case, you’re in the wrong profession buddy. Don’t bother with this store. Go somewhere else where they treat their customers right, and are actually HELPFUL. This place is an all around bummer.

Nice little locally owned/operated fishing supplies store. The selection is of products is nothing spectacular. While it’s better than the fishing supply sections of various box stores and even local«sporting goods»(i.e., «stick & ball») shops, it’s nowhere near what you’ll find through mail order suppliers or shops up San Jose. But they do provide excellent customer service. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer any questions and/or provide input/advice. The one thing I’ll ding their service on is that they think a bit too local & didn’t seem willing to even try to find specialty lures for me. I sometimes fish up in Oregon, and have had great luck with a particular type of lure up there(though it’s been completely unsuccessful locally). When I asked if they carried the lure the response was«We tried carrying them for a while, but they suck.» When I explained that they worked well up at the lake in Oregon, and I was hoping to pick some up before my next trip, then asked if they could maybe order some for me, I was told flat out«No.» I wasn’t sure if they don’t place special orders for customers at all, or if they just didn’t want to place an order for that particular lure… I didn’t ask for clarification. Otherwise, the experience was very friendly and positive.
