Super Pollo Taqueria

My wife just moved to Salinas for business, we are not from here… and I will still be living down south where we are from. However, we love good food, and have been thinking about trying this place. So on one of my visits, we decided to try it out. I must say our meal was delicious and the service was perfect. I suggest if you are in the mood for a good home cooked Mexican meal… and you want to be treated well try this place out.
They have 2 big screen TVs that show their menu with pictures of the dishes. It is very easy ordering for those of you who may not be familiar with Mexican dishes.
Im sure they could accommodate the fussy eater as well. We had 4 in our party and our total bill was about $ 45.00. I feel for the quality of food and the service… we paid a fair price.
We will be back… I know my wife will probably be here more since she will now be up here in Salinas.
Try this place out.

Carne Asada Tacos are delicious! They are pretty filling, big tacos.
Salsas are okay, can use some more spicyness.

We’re not usually that big on Mexican food, but nonetheless find the burritos from this place outright addictive. They have a wonderfully homemade flavor to them. Simple done really well is usually a winning combination — it most certainly is when it comes to this place! It’s become one of our favorite take-​out places.

Wow! The restaurant has been around for 25 years and they treat their customers– old and new– like family. We drove through town and stopped here because of the nice Unilocal reviews and were BLOWN AWAY by the amazing food! Breakfast burrito, California burrito, chorizo, chicken and super omelette! This place is a must!!! You’ll love it! You will be amazed by their friendliness and their incredible food!

I went here because El Charrito was closed, to be honest. And I’m actually glad it was closed, otherwise I wouldn’t have discovered this gem!

I recently had catering for a family gathering and was very happy with my experience. I ordered Chicken, Tri-​Tip, Rice, Beans and Salad. I was very happy with the service, the lady in the front was helpful. She included tortillas, napkins, utensils, plates and a large container of salsa. Their chicken is delicious, the best in town. The rice and beans taste very authentic and salsa was perfect. Everyone loved the food, especially their chicken. I recommend Super Pollo to everyone!

$ 6.55 for a vegetarian burrito. Place seemed dirty and like it needed a thorough scrubbing. Staff friendly. Same parking lot is Plaza Bakery. Which is always clean. Friendly staff and the burrito is only $ 5.50. Also Plaza Bakery does not charge extra for take out and Taqueria Super Pollo does.

Super Pollo Taqueria is one of my favorite places to get burritos. Their plates are good but I rarely go in for a plate. Their burritos are the best though. They’re always huge and filled with flavor. I highly recommend their chorizo burrito. Best chorizo burrito I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. This is definitely my go-​to place when I’m in Salinas and want great food at a great price. The staff is always friendly and if they happen to make a mistake they fix it with no problem.

have been here 7x and was always very happy good carnitas fantastic quality and huge serving size comes with large salad. i need to get out of my rut but am very loyal at restaurants and travel to good ones it is worth the drive never a bad meal in 3 years!

My husband and I came here for lunch to go. Very friendly staff behind the counter, and the burritos are HUGE! we normally go to Papa Chevo but this place will surely be on our list to return.

I enjoy this place and now that they take credit cards again it’s easier for me. They have different lunch specials for different days. I enjoy their wet chicken burrito.

I have been coming here since I was 3 years old. They’ve only gotten better if that’s even possible, best burrito’s around!

I love this taqueria their tri tip tortas are delicious. The workers are always friendly and nice.

First time there, NO BUENO! Had the shrimp tacos, they had no flavor. It tasted like they used the shrimp cocktail and threw some cabbage on it. Also, the place looks dirty and there were flies everywhere. We spent $ 50+ on 4 meals, which would be fine but the quality was poor. Go to La plaza or Guadalajara Grill.

This is the place to go to get good quality food. Great service and wide selection. I would suggest them any time you want some good Mexican food.

Great food n service! Every time we have came here either as a large group or just a couple of us never had to complain about getting our orders wrong! I would recommend this place!

My husband and I came here because a friend recommended us the food. We we’re not disappointed!
We’re addicted to the Tri-​tip Torta’s their so good we come every week to get one. YES TRI-​TIP TORTAS! ITS A MUST! DON’T LEAVE THIS PLACE WITHOUT HAVING ONE! We have also tried their other items on the menu and the food is very tasty and authentic.
Customer service is a plus in Super Pollo. The guy in the front has ALWAYS greeted us with a smile. He’s very attentive as far as customer service which is a plus!
I highly recommend this restaurant if you want delicious Mexican food!

We have been living down the street for several months and never really thought too much of this place. Decided to finally try it out tonight and, boy am I glad I skipped lunch. We got the Molcajete and it did not disappoint! I’m not even completely sure of its entire contents, but the carne, chicken, sausage and nopales were delicious. To top it all off– Bacon. Wrapped. Shrimp… with queso fresco. Well done Super Pollo. Well done.

Decent place for a quick bite.
Their grilled chicken is seasoned very well but it’s ALWAYS dry.
Tolerable with their whole beans, rice & one the 3 average at best salsas from their self serve section.
Lately had the 2 enchilada plate with a small carne/​steak on the side. The steak is super thin but tastes fine as long as you tell the clerk that you want it cooked red.
All in all I come here based on convenience as its close to a gym I go to and it’s definitely better than the fast good alternatives near by.
If you want good, great or awesome Mexican food I’m sure you can find another spot to get a better bang for your buck.
