Ihop Restaurant

So, normally I would never dream of giving a chain restaurant 5 stars, but this IHOP was awesome. Food was perfect, and the service was extraordinary. My server belongs in fine dining, not in a Kansas diner. Plus, 20% off for staying in the Motel 6 next door!

We ordered takeout from here the other day
Usually I like IHOP however this one wasn’t the best
Service was friendly and food Coke out fast. However the gentleman who brought our food out. Set it on the counter and seated three sets of people before we got it. Needless to say it was cold by the time we got it and got back to our room at the hotel
I got a double burger with hash browns and a side salad. The burger was ok but the hash browns were extra crispy on outside and raw in the center
The side salad was a mix of greens mostly old and wilted …
My husband got and omelette with hash browns and toast
The hash browns same as mine. Raw in center. Omelet was just ok
We also got the dessert fruit cranes. Apple and blueberry. They were tasty however the grapes were really soggy
I wouldn’t recommend eating at this IHOP

AMAZING service!
After getting checking into the hotel next door last night I walked over to the Ihop. After being on the road for so long it was nice to be right next to a restaurant that I could walk right across the grass to.
Ihop was clean and well lit. I was pleasantly greeted at the door by the host as I entered. He took me to my table and then just chatted a few minutes. I enjoy the conversation when I have been driving all day, but it wasn’t very intrusive so please don’t let this part of my review scare you off.
I had the bacon burger with fries and water. My waitress had a trainee with her and they did a remarkable job. They were friendly and knowledgeable. And the waitress was doing a great job training the new girl. She would explain everything she was doing, not only with my table, but the others she was covering as well. The manner in which she did it and the was she spoke to her trainee was very professional and you could tell she cared about her job.
Not only did my water glass seem to never empty, the burger came out pretty quick and was just what I was expecting. A great experience.

Okay. It’s ihop. Nuf said about that. The stars are not because the food is anything other than you would expect. But as we sipped fresh hot coffee I was curious if anyone wrote reviews for a chain restaurant, because this is a fairly new app for me and I’m exploring.
Well, they do, and Some of the reviews were scary! Here is my experience at this location: friendly food server, fast service, hot food prepared just as I requested (bacon and hash browns extra crispy), no hairs anywhere (see a previous review).
So my star quotient is because the food was exactly what I expected and everything else went as it should.

Service was slow. Server was almost non-​existant. I ordered the quick 2 egg breakfast, it took nearly 25 minutes and the hashbrowns were over cooked. I’m sure it didn’t help that the server forgot what I ordered.

Let me start by saying we love IHOP! We go at least once a month in our hometown. This version was not what we were used to: The service was slow, our order was incorrect, the food was cold and the only time we saw the waitress was when the bill was ready.

Food was old. Multiple hairs in the food. Server was horrible. Orders were wrong and then they ran out of food. Don’t go here.

This IHOP seems like they can’t or will not get any better than they are the service is bad the breakfast meal was not Cook to order the only thing I enjoy was the Decaf coffee, the hostess was the only thing that was fast.

Typically I don’t bother reviewing anything as generic as I-​Hop unless there’s something extraordinarily good or bad. This time its good. We had been on the road for 7 hrs when we rolled into Salina for the night, and walked over to the I-​Hop for late night dinner. We were met by a friendly waitress and cook who enthusiastically took our orders and persevered even though the waffle machine was uncooperative. These late-​night workers deserve special appreciation: Thanks!

Two stars for the pancakes. Waitress was fine at first, then we got our food. Had to ask for butter and syrup. She throws one down and says ‘promise its not strawberry’ and walks off. Food was not hot, didn’t offer any refills. Needless to say, she made her tip suffer. I’ve had better service at McDonalds drive thru!

You know your typical IHOP some days are two stars other days or three and a half depending on what you order what you order this place was pretty quiet me and for being next to a truck stop

I am picky. My kids hate to go with me to restaurants sometimes because I can be pretty demanding. Having said that, I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience at the Salina iHop today. My server, Kristen, was very pleasant, efficient, and professional. I liked the 55+ menu, ‘cuz I usually eat too much in places like this and the portions of the 2+2+2 were perfect. Everything arrived at the table hot; the eggs were fluffy, the pancakes and sausage delicious. The regular OJ was good, too. Simple stuff, but a great sign that this is a winning location. we waited awhile to get seated. the waitress was ok. the wait for our food was about 45mins n there wasn’t very many ppl there. When the food came, mine was suppose to be chicken Alfredo but was nothing close. It was pasta w hard chicken in some kind of red sauce that was as thin as water. Sent it back n got the chicken florintine crepes. Those were wrong as well n the holindase sauce was cold n lumpy. They need a new cook! My boyfriend’s omelet looked like a scramble n the meat was old. go somewhere else! This place is a mess!

Quick, friendly, accurate, and tasty. No frills, just good. Will remember this place for next road trip.

I had read all of the reviews for this IHOP before and thought there were mixed results, some loved it some did not and said the service was bad. When I went however I found the food to taste the same as any IHOP I had eaten at before and my server Rita was a delight. We received our food in a normal amount and my drink was refilled many times. Overall great experience!

Best Ihop hands down!

I was never one to fawn over an Ihop. Or a Denny’s for that matter. But, on the third day of a cross country trip, we stopped for dinner here at Ihop, being in the mood for evening pancakes. It was surprisingly the best meal we had on our whole cross country trip. And that included fancy places in large cities. We are weird eaters with strange requests of all kinds and usually it at least makes the server roll her eyes. Not so here! I asked for a glass of hot half and half for my coffee, and thinking I was going to get some pushback, offered to open up the little packets. The waitress said «Oh, no, honey, I’ll do it for you!» with a smile, and proceeded to do so. Food was fresh, coffee was fresh and everything hit the spot. Okay, it was dinner so maybe not so hard to get it right. But… I have been into these kinds of places at quiet times and found the service lacking. Next time I’m on I-​70 in Kansas I’ll definitely stop here and encourage you to stop here too. :)

Eat here often as I live close. If the place looks unlike most IHOP’s it is because it was originally a Denny’s. Read previous reviews and am shocked. Sometimes service a tad slow but not like what others describe. Managers seem to really care about service and the customers. Last night I left my moneyclip on the table there and was delighted they’d found it and nothing was missing. If I had a complaint it be about menu, I don’t like their hamburger buns and some steaks are a bit spicey, but it is a chain so it is no reflection on the store itself.

Read the previous review but came anyway. Food was good. Service was completely messed up. No wait staff for 10 minutes. Cleaner abandoned mops and buckets in the middle of the bathroom. Had to wait at register to get check after someone finally wandered by. Really strange place.

How this particular location manages to be not just bad in general, but noticeably worse than any other IHOP, I have no idea. I thought their recipes were pretty standardized, but somehow all the food here was cooked and seasoned wrong. Nothing had any salt, yet it was swimming in black pepper. Salads all had the wrong dressing, main dishes the wrong toppings and on the wrong item. There were fewer than ten other customers in the joint (it was a weeknight at about 7pm) and we were all seated in the same corner, so I managed to overhear that ALL the other tables got their food wrong, too. This despite them having what sounded like 15 people working in the kitchen — and P. S., kitchen employees should note that when they are only separated from customers by a 5′ high wall, they should stop complaining when their incompetent and incorrect orders get sent back. My «garlic toast» was, get this: plain white bread. I managed to get butter for it about 20 minutes later. There were three waitresses on duty, yet it was impossible to get the attention of any of them. No drink refills, and our check was unceremoniously slapped on the table at the same time that the food came with an instruction to «leave the money on the table».
New life goal: never end up in this worthless hellhole again. (IHOP… Salina… Kansas… any of the above, take your pick.)
