Food was OK… vegetables are really watery tho. However, the waiter will not leave you alone if you are a young lady by yourself. I had to ask a few times for the check, and when he finally brought it he did not leave the table. I had to tell him I was leaving in order for him to leave me alone. I would say to go here if you are with your family or some guys, but I would not recommend going alone as a young lady or you will have to deal with that creepy waiter who barely speak English and ogling you the entire time you were eating.

Normally, the food is pretty good, and the service isn’t bad. I’ve been coming here to get takeout for my wife and myself for many years. But the other day, I was«helped» by a gentleman who really put me off with his condescending, smarmy attitude. I felt like he was judging me for what I ordered, and this isn’t the first time he’s acted this way. On top of that, I ordered my steak«medium» and it came out more like«shoe leather» it was so well-done. So I’m not about to go back for a while. As much as I like the food, I hate dealing with that one guy.

Wonderful food, good service, fair prices! One of my favorite go to’s when I want good steak. The atmosphere is not that ambient, so if you are looking for a ‘special’ anniversary/b day/over the top special occasion, you may want to look for the more ‘fine dining’ experience. For fantastic food with decent prices, however, this is a fabulous place!

We like to get the food to go since you can call it in and pick up by the time you arrive. These are large portions so my husband and I can split a dinner. We get steak or chicken. I love the salad dressing. Food is consistent.

It Was OK Great service and average food marked my visit here. I was disappointed after reading sterling reviews, but the lobster, shrimp and tenderloin meal I ordered was just OK. The lobster was marred by a brown sauce that masked the lobster flavor(which should have been cooked the same way as the shrimp, which were outstanding). The tenderloin was tender but lacked much flavor. The opening salad had a nice flavor but was drenched in dressing, which spoiled it. The service was excellent. I’d probably give them a try again if I were there, but this visit came up short.

Awesome hibachi without the need for the showmanship! Casual yet elegant and the food is top notch.

For the price, ambience, and most importantly, the food — 5 stars! I had the lunch special hibachi chicken and it was delicious! The ginger sauce is also wonderful. This is a great, and fast, spot for business lunches in the Salem area!

This is the best hibachi style food that I have eaten. However you don’t get the show that comes with most hibachi restaurants. I will gladly forgo the flash for this food. The teriyaki chicken, hibachi steak, and hibachi shrimp were all excellent. I will definitely be back again and would recommend Sakura to others.

Sushi was terrible. Teriyaki chicken had way too much salty teriyaki sauce on it. Very much overpriced. Definitely avoid this place!

I love this place, its been hard to find a great Japanese/Asian since I moved here from San Diego. I am use to having lots of options and I am very happy for what they do have. The hibachi steak has lots of flavor and is always cooked to your specification s and the take out is just as good, you won’t be waiting very long for it.

Why 4 stars? Food is fine and service was professional, that is my sole criteria Atmosphere, minimalist Japanese No sushi No hibachi and unlike the other reviewer I’m not holding this against them because they don’t bill the place as a sushi bar or hibachi grill. It is a bit pricy for the set up but I don’t know if it is competitive in this area. Again, I enjoyed my food and server

I love this place food is a little pricy for combos. I usually get Teriyaki Chicken… You will never have to wait to be seated and food is served fast.

They serve teppanyaki style meals without the grill at your table, ok that’s a first I’ve seen. The service was very prompt and well-timed(that’s important to me). The soup was a simple broth, fish actually, and was pretty good for being so simple. The salad was also simple, just lettuce and a very good ginger dressing. Again not having to wait too long or for each course to come out. The meal I ordered was the filet, shrimp, and scallop. My wife and daughter both got chicken and steak. The portion of vegetables took up half the plate. Zucchini, onions, and broccoli, again just a little different than the usual, although I would have rather had mushrooms than broccoli. The filet was very tender and there were two dipping sauces, red was a «ginger»? sauce and not sure exactly the white one was but it was better. I can never keep track which sauce is supposed to be for what, just use what you like. The amount of filet was ample, the six shrimp and six scallops were a little light on amount. The scallops were burnt on one side, too much oil or cook got distracted but after that they were ok. The family seemed to enjoy their meals, I tried the chicken, it was chicken. Overall it was a good, but nothing great or that memorable of an experience. The total bill with tax and tip came to $ 81.00 for 3 people, with just sodas for the table and no dessert. I wasn’t even sure if they had desserts, I didn’t think to look nor was offered any. The restaurant was also almost empty, probably 4 other tables on a Sunday night at 6:30 pm, good for me but probably bad for business. Price was too high compared to the other Japanese Steak Houses I’ve been to where you did get a bit of a show and larger portions, with more items.

This place used to be a favorite of ours for a well priced fast food type meal. I admit we had not visited for a while as it is not on our beaten track, until last night. I can only imagine that there has been a change of ownership. Greated and dismissed with a snarl, by the Lady owner,(I assumed she was an owner) Snippy is not strong enough a word, she actually curled her lip when we said«Good Evening». That being said, the waitress was attentive and sweet, she made sure we had all three courses delivered in such quick succession, all three courses were actually on the table at the same time. Beer — Sappora always great, that was the only thing that was as expected. I will start with the soup. This used to be great, not now. Bland, boring, weak and insipid. Salad, bagged, with a watered down dressing. Teriyaki Chicken. don’t think so, and got increasingly rubbery as it cooled. And, yes! I know what teriyaki should taste like. Veggies Ok but all one color. Rice(I had the boiled) average in texture and without taste. A waste of time and money, we will not return, until I see the under new management sign up. Sorry Folks, I am working up to doing a great review for a restaurent but it is taking a while to find a worthy one.

If you’re looking for a good hibachi lunch, good service and fair prices, and you don’t want Sushi or have to pay extra for a chop-em-up show, you could do a lot worse than here. The salad dressing is awesome and you’ll leave stuffed. Now that I’m working nearby, I’ll be eating here a lot more often…

Sakura only serve tepanyaki. THey do not serve sushi. The waitress is very nice, sweet and keep my water full for my lunch. Which I really appreciate. The food itself. I was not too impress. It could be because it’s drown in butter and oil. I usually a pretty healty eater, so my stomach was in pain for the next 4 hours after lunch. So if you like butter and oil in your food, by all mean… you should check it out. It’s just not my place

At first, I heard from my friend about this great restaurant. Then I went to try it out myself. I have to say I was more than happy about the experience. The waitress there were friendly. The price tag very is reasonable. And the best of all, the food I ordered, teriaki chicken, it tasted really good. I would definitely recommend others to try out the restaurant.

SEVEN years … and I’ve never experienced one disappointing meal here! The service is wonderful; drinks ordered, delivered, meal ordered, soup delivered, salad quickly to follow and then on to the main course. The steak and scallops are always cooked to perfection, served with beautifully sauteed onion, zucchini and mushrooms. The brown rice that accompanies every dish is the best I’ve ever tasted. I am not sure what the secret is there, but it’s an amazing one. Now, on to the best part of the meal. The two dipping sauces served with meat and seafood … absolutely, to die for. I could eat this meal everyday! Thank you Sakura, seven solid years of satisfaction!
