I had absolutely terrible experience at that place today. I came to change a battery on a new swiss watch that I was supposed to send as a gift. The back of the watch is held by four tiny screws. Though I change batteries on my watches myself, I do not have«professional» tools and I thought I would pay to a jeweler to do it so there will be no scratches or other damage to the case/watch. This woman takes it and starts unscrewing the screws. I see she is struggling. Then she takes the watch and brings it inside where I assume the«real» jeweler sits. Then she comes out and tells me that they only got one screw out and, BTW, there was one screw missing but, she quickly adds, we can replace it. Well, the watch is brand new, all screws were in place so she just lost one of the screws. Then she tells me that it will take an hour. She gets my number, never calls. I come back after walking in the mall for an hour and she gives me my watch back saying that there was one screw they could not get out, so they could do nothing for me. I look at the screw and the slot for the screwdriver is destroyed. At this point I’m pissed. Fortunately, I decided to check other places in the mall. And Jeweler’s Bench is right there. I have little hopes but the guy very casually and calmly tells me that this won’t be an issue. Half an hour and $ 25 later the watch is all set. So it cost me extra $ 20 for being stupid to stop by the Sears place first. AVOID!

Brought my watch there to simply replace the battery. The ‘professionals’ working there replaced the battery. They also severely scratched the back of my watch. Apparently these ‘professionals’ were never taught how to properly open the back of a watch. What was worse was how unaccountable they were. They weren’t worth the fight and will never be worth my time again.
