its a dive bar. comfortable, but still a dive. Tommy will take care of you, he’s a good bartender and he’s a cool guy. Nothing special to see here but it’ll get the job done if you’re hankering for a dive bar.

Doesn’t bother me that it’s a dive bar. The service just isn’t that great. The place is filled with hipsters who think they are just too cool for school. Unless you walk in wearing skinny jeans and looking like a bum who just left their parents basement, you probably wouldn’t feel welcome. From what I understand, there’s also been a couple girls get assaulted in the bathroom. Sounds like a fun place right?

Not cup of tea at all. Not my crowd or scene at all, but I will say the trendy punk pabst drinking people will love it. I don’t have to love it but they cater to their clientele really well!

Best bar in Salem. You could call it dive-y, but that makes it sound like a bad thing. Its down to earth, dark, crowded and cheap. Good bartenders, pretty awesome french fries, and its got this awesome sparkly floor in the bathroom. This is like the only bar where Willamette students mingle with Salem locals. Went to their 7am-9am happy hour once for breakfast. I don’t necessarily recommend it unless its someone’s 21st birthday.

I always see people outside so I thought I would give it a try. The café is in the front, the bar in the back. Like the other reviewers stated it is a dive bar, but one of the better ones for Salem. Nice clean place, nothing special. I did not try the food so I can not comment. Nice selection of beer. The guy next to me had to much to drink when he asked for another round the sever cut him off. If you want to know why I am including this see my review of Venti’s.

I love their fish & chips. It’s a great dive bar with a surprisingly good menu. One of my favorite places for lunch!

I haven’t eaten here in some time, but each one of my past experiences has resulted in a three star rating. While the place has a distinct odor that ends up in the food(at least in some dishes), it offers a pretty decent atmosphere for both food and drink. You aren’t forced to eat next to the drinkers at the bar, as they have regular table near the front doors. But if you want to eat at the bar, you can. I recommend tryin the place, especially since smoking has been banned. I’m pretty sure that’s the reason for the odor, but being a smoker myself I couldn’t care less.

Solid joint(kind of dive bar –esque) with an eclectic crowd. Smokey(til January when the new law goes into effect) and loud(there seems to be a constant dull roar — must be the acoustics), this is a good place for strong drinks. It gets four stars because the staff is great and it’s come-one-come-all(goth and professional alike are welcomed) atmosphere. If you need some greasy food to soak some of that liquor, they’ve got that too.

On Monday nights to spruce up the business they typically have a $ 1 beer(corona) and .50 tacos available to all customers. If you load up on the beers and the tacos, you can get yourself a pretty decent helping for less than $ 10. Even on a regular night, things are reasonably priced and won’t break your wallet. The bartender that I see on weekends and weekdays is usually the same woman, who is a great, amiable bartender. The hostesses are quite friendly as well. I would have to say the bathrooms and the overall ambiance of the place is quite typical, the AKA«bar scene.» Its worth coming on the Mondays for the deal, but its so-so the rest of the time
