Nestled in the quaint little town of Salem is an equally welcoming Mike’s Penn Gill. Beautiful menu selection with mouth watering flavors and specials that are… well let’s just say SPECIAL, very special ! A real hidden gem and always a delicious meal ! Best homemade pie and desserts ever, I will never share a dessert @ Mike’s Penn ! The Macadamia Nut Coconut Key Lime Pie is to die for !! Dessert very depending on day of the week. Great lunch specials too!

Good seafood. Mike please keep your servers serving! Servers play around rather giving customers attention. Wait is too long. I wish this place was a more a restraunt than a bar.

Great bar food, definitely a cut above what you might expect. Great burgers with hand cut fries. I also had the brisket sandwich, which was excellent.

Stopped in for lunch. I don’t get a drink but they seemed to have a nice selection of beers. I had a club and my wife had a burger. I know it was just sandwiches and they were not even the best I have ever had but the flavors and freshness really stood out. This place isn’t very close to home for us but I know we will be back. I’m holding out on that last star till I try another meal or two but I have hope that I found a great little place.

When I walked in I thought I was time warped to a blue collar bar in the 1970’s. It was odd but kind of cool and definitely retro. The service was good and the staff are friendly. I had the Carters Cajun fettuccini. It was incredible… absolutely delicious with complex flavor. And a nice twist… there was sweet peppers… not hot… in the Cajun sauce… so It ha a sweet then heat combo! I’ll be back!

Let me just say YUMMY… huge daily menu… ordered the crab wanton they where stuffed fully and had great crab flavor cooked perfectly crispy. I order the 8 Oz strip with stuffed tiger shrimp… my steak was cooked perfect was by far the best steak I’ve ever had the shrimp where large and the stuffing had junks of crab with a buttery wine taste. My husband got the halibut with blue cheese resotto his fish was cooked perfect not dried out and had great flavor the resotto had a mild taste of blue cheese so it wasn’t over powering… over all I give two thumbs up and will def return!

I have visited the grill 3 times in a month. Twice for meals and once for drinks. I am very happy with the quality of the food. The menu offers simple items like burgers to blue cheese pan seared scallops. The wait staff is pleasant and efficient. I do wish the facility was larger. The tables are a little crowded due to space restrictions. Lighting and décor could also be improved. Understandably it is a lounge, but the quality of the food is somewhat lost in the dark.

Surprising to find a decent place in a little town like this… I hear there’s actually a chef on staff, not just a line cook like in most bars. Food is pretty good and they even have crème brûlée sometimes! Not bad for a bar and grill. Decent food, decently priced.

Worst meal since we’ve been back then waiter charged us double but he did adjust after we complained

Not happy with service, waited 15 min after we finished eating for bill. Food of course was great.

This place was a great find coming home from salem. great steaks and seafood.. Friendly staff and cold beer. Prices are cheap and portions decent sized… tuesday they have ayce crablegs $ 26. make a reservation!

Great food, and a large daily specials selection so there is always something different to try! Gotta watch though, I’ve had a couple of things with way too strong of flavors (unexpectedly spicy, etc.). The Hollywood wings are fantastic.

We had a very good dinner here. Started with the Ultimate Crock appetizer — smoked gouda cheese with crab, spinach, artichokes. The pita chips were fresh out of the oven hot. Best part of the meal! Absolutely delicious! My husband got one of the Saturday specials, the jumbo blue catfish. it was very good and I don’t usually like fish. I got a six ounce sirloin which was acceptable. I ordered it rare, but got more of a medium rare. The cut I ordered was thin, so it can be difficult to get it rare. I added crab legs which were tasty but small. The server was new, but quick to fix her slight errors while serving. All in all we had a pleasant evening and a nice dinner. The décor is all wood and the wall hangings are straight from the 70’S. I found myself getting nostalgic for my family’s old avocado fridge.

Great food always. Nice home town bar and grille. Highly recommended. If it’s on the menu, the meatloaf is excellent!!!

Walked in and I instantly regretted my decision to come here. I was not in the mood for bar food. To call the Philly Cheese Steak I ordered bar food is an insult to the food god’s. I’m a picky person and that sandwich was most definitely the best tasting sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. The fries were a bit lacking in flavor but I’m more than willing to forgive it. The alligator was also very tasty as well.

The steak and shrimp was really good. Good service. The banana split pie had a good filling but the crust was not.

First time visit and we will be back again. They have a $ 5 lunch special which was two sliders and fries. Even more food than I needed for lunch and very good, fresh and hot. My husband had the New England clam chowder which he loved and a Dagwood which he said was tasty and fresh
