Lone Oak is exactly that… lonely, lonesome, and quite pathetic really. I walked in thinking it was the Silver Spur, and when I asked for a drink, the bartender explained that they do not take debit cards… WHAT?! Funny thing though, even the bartender couldn’t believe that debit cards weren’t accepted. He was funny and friendly, and explained the actual location of the Silver Spur. He gave me an ice water, and let me breathe for a minute before I trekked on to the much anticipated bar. On I went, and after i finally found it(due to the obscure location) I couldn’t believe my eyes. The country theme was over the top, and the people were really energetic… so I thought. It seemed as though the only energy in that bar was the extreme animalistic instinct that occurs between males and females. In other words, everyone just wanted to hump each other and no one cared about connecting with one another… at least, not in the way I wanted to connect. There were groups and cliques and if you were bold enough to make eye contact, maybe… perhaps someone would be okay with you saying hello. It was like going to an amusement park, but all of the rides were broken. An amazing atmosphere with incredibly superficial people. When I left the Silver Spur later that night, I could not resist going back in and saying goodnight to the bartender at the Lone Oak Tavern. He was without a doubt, the best person I met all evening. He is the sole reason I gave this place one star. Actually, he IS the star.

I have never frequented this establishment nor do I ever plan on doing so. After dealing with the people who own this place, I just have to say that the management is completely pathetic. My friends and I were at the Silver Spur and parked in the parking lot NEAR the Lone Oak Tavern. There were no signs indicating that we could not park there. A few hours later, it was announced that my friends had their cars towed and that a woman at Lone Oak Tavern had made the call. We walked over there to see what the problem was and why they made the call. They said that they had signs saying we couldn’t park there. There weren’t any where we had parked. They said their signs indicated we could not park 150 meters within their tavern, so even if we weren’t by the signs, we were within their parameters. We looked at the signs and there were no such specifications. I don’t know if they’re just upset that Silver Spur has more customers than they do or what it was, but I found that their actions were unnecessary and their demeanor to be disrespectful, rude, and defensive when we were trying to sort out the problem at hand with them in a calm manner. When pointing out that their towing was illegal since no rules were technically broken, they threatened for us to try and sue them, as they had done this many times in the past already and always got away with it. After speaking to management at Silver Spur, they verified that this has happened to their customers often as of late. Keep it classy, Lone Oak Tavern.

I miss the old Lone Oak location with its worn out Formica counters and the pool table that was so close to the wall that a shortened pool cue was needed for play along one side of the table. I also miss the selections on the old juke box that contained such classics as «He hit me(and it felt like a kiss).» Since its relocation, the owners have tried their best to keep the same«motif» as the original. Same clientelle, similar prices and the best food value deal in town *$ 4.50 for 4 pieces of broasted chicken & a giant mound of fries! Pitchers run in the neighborhood of $ 6.25. Where else can you get drunk and stuffed for that price. Overall croud can be a bit rough, so if your particulair about the company that you keep… best venture trying a different establishment.
