We rather enjoy El Cubanito. Great lunch specials starting at $ 4.99. We love the Mini Cubanito sandwich. They are truly not small. If you get the large, you’ll have half left for later.

I am a regular at Cubanito and like the food very much, but have to say today waited over 30 min for my food sitting down and ordered to go very simple dish. Waitress apologetic but cook got mad when he was fussed at — after almost one hour still not done so got refund and left — this has never happened to me!

Went there for lunch and there weren’t even a lot of people but we waited for our food for almost an hour. The food was decent but not worth the wait. If you’re hungry don’t even bother to come to this place.

This is the first time we had Cuban food, The meat marinades were excellent(what was in that?) The fried plantains were very good but the kicker was the Mango shake! If this is Cuban food then we are fans! The staff(one very nice lady who appeared to do everything from seating to cooking to serving) was wonderful. She was alone but Teri’s tea glass was refilled at just the right moment. I would recommend this place to anyone.

As a south Florida native, I can tell you this little Cuban place is a gem! Fine and attentive staff and décor. All food items are excellent and tasty. Good price for value. Unique! I wish they had access to authentic Cuban bread though.

Its a small Cuban place tucked away in an area where it doesn’t draw much of the Cuban population. Props for pulling that off but the food isn’t great. It’s not terrible and the service is good, so if you’re in the neighborhood go for it, but if you are going to drive across town to get Cuban food, there are much better options.

Loved the restaurant & atmosphere. Nice serving sizes, fried plantains were awesome, stayed for a Mojito at the bar after dinner that was excellent. Hated to hear that the place is up for sale.

I loved this place. People were super nice and the food was great. Indoor and outdoor seating in an authentic Cuban setting. A must visit place.

Terrible greasy food way over priced for something you can make at home! I ordered a dish and the actual owner made the wrong dish so when I informed her of the mistake she proceeded to argue with me over it and after several minutes I was finally to the point where I just wanted my money back but she insisted that they would go ahead a change it(still acting like it was my mistake) so I said ok when I got the food home and checked it they had used the very same meat from the wrong dish and just threw some peppers and onions on top!!!(And who knows what else) would Not recommend this place to an enemy bad service bad food and bad prices!

Menu good, prices reasonable, Décor almost made it. Clean economically operated, so may have a chance of survival. Staff are family and multi tasking, It is what it is. Cocktails a little imperfect. Wine reasonable priced, but no wine cellar here. Tried a few times, will probably go back. Did not like the Dolce e Leche at all.

had lunch, very pleasant service. I thought the food was good, not fabulous but decent Cuban is hard to find in the Roanoke valley. I thought it was better than Cuban Island on Williamson ave. Will definitely go back.
