Amazing tacos. Highly recommend stopping here when in Salem. Owner is really personable and food is excellent. Really close to all tourist stuff nearby. At first, when I saw there wet rent a lot of food options, I was worried. But is was awesome!

The man who’s the owners son is actually insane. Extremely rude and expects a tip. The cops are always called on his offensive attitude.

Best burrito I have had in years. Tender pulled chicken seasoned hot and sweet, high quality rice and pinto beans, pickled onions, jalapeños, and all the toppings. We came in with a high school group of 12 and the owner was extremely kind to each of us and built our burritos one at a time, with great patience, explaining the options and seasonings and holding out a jalapeño or a pickled onion for the kids to try first. I will be back if I come back to Salem. Better than most Mexican fast food in Boston.

Just ordered a Burrito and the food was good. Not amazing, but it was reasonable. I decided while ordering though, that I would never set a foot back in the place. It started with a slightly weird sign on the glass at the ordering area to keep your hands off the glass as it was«unacceptable behavior». Hmmm, I thought. Thats strange. When checking out I asked to confirm the prices when I was billed $ 13.30 for a Burrito and a soda. I was told that the soda was $ 3.50 and without another word«the prices are all clearly marked in big black text right there in front of you on the fridge». Well clearly I hadn’t seen the sheet but found it a really odd way to interact with a customer who seemed a little surprised at being charged $ 3.50 for an orange soda. I don’t care if the food is the best I’ve ever tasted. I won’t support a restaurant that interacts with its customers like this. I believe(although am not certain) that the person I interacted with was the owner.

Fresh, fabulous Mexican food. Very friendly owner/chef that worked with us to find what we wanted. Had both the steak and pork tacos… Both delicious!(And come with a bonus side of rice and beans!). The kids had quesadillas with pork and were delighted.(We finished the leftovers and can attest to the quality of the meat!).

I’ve eaten here several times and it has been great each time. Owner cares about the quality of his food. Whenever I’m in Salem and need a quick lunch, this is the first place I think of.

Really good Taqueria very close to the Peabody Essex Museum and the National Parks Salem visitors center. The owner/cook is very serious and careful about his product. Apparently many/mostly locally grown ingredients. The store itself is very small. Three or four stools by a counter and a small two-top by the door with chairs. The store was immaculately clean and I was promptly greeted upon entry. I had the Hortaliza Torta and the Hortaliza taco. Both came with flavorful sides of beans and rice. The torta was very filling. It was a heated pressed sandwich unlike other tortas I’ve had in the Boston area. My kids had bean and rice burritos which were very large indeed. The prices are very reasonable. There’s no bathroom in the store, but there is one a very short walk away in the National Parks visitors center. In terms of wheelchair access there’s no step at the doorway, though the small size of the store might post some challenge if it was very busy.

I am from Texas and I was terrified to eat any where that claimed they had Mexican type of food. I will only say this once, I was wrong. This place is a must. For $ 20, not including a tip, my wife and I bought two soft drinks, a carne acadia taco with rice and black beans, and a burrito bowl with extra queso. Their sauce was seasoned to perfection as was the meat. The guy who was there was friendly and the place was clean. I felt this was one of the best seasoned food we had the entire time we were in Salem. They do recycle so yay! It is close to a few really cool shops. The mild sauce added a nice flavor but wasn’t spicy so dont be scared to try it. The music was interesting yet fun. If you have an elder peraon who is sensitive to louder, not crazy loud, music then you may want to take it to go. But thats the kicker you still must go!!! It is so good!!!

I’m hesitant to get any type of Mexican food in Mass because of some bad experiences(see past reviews) BUT Finally the burrito I’ve been waiting for! I told the guy behind the counter(who I assume is the owner) to throw together a burrito that would make me want to come back again. And boy did he. Every ingredient was treated well. You could tell that skipping quality was not something they do around here. Rice — 5⁄5 Beans — 5⁄5 Chicken — 5⁄5 Pickled onions — 6⁄5 Mango corn salsa — 5⁄5 And then sour cream, cheese and lettuce to bring it all together. Overall I had an amazing burrito experience. I only wish I lived closer.

I ordered the torta with vegetables, black beans, guacamole and cheese. They press the sandwich and heat it up so it is warm and toasty. My husband ordered the carnitas taco with rice and beans. I liked the rice a lot, and I’ve had better meat, but the taco was decent and the toppings are locally grown and are very fresh. The lemonade was the stand out. Fresh squeezed and it is obvious. It was the perfect quick snack while we waited for the next tour at the witch museum down the street.

FANTASTICO! I love the vibe. This place is great and the food is delicious. Price is good too! All I have to say to those that do not like it and have had a bad experience, it appears that they just love to complain. The staff is friendly and fun!

Overall the food here is pretty good. The burritos are really big and there’s an article on the wall about how the ingredients are all freshly grown in the owner’s parents’ garden. Prices are average, not high but not really cheap either. They need more seating in here and it definitely would be nice if they had combinations with burritos where they came with chips and salsa. I asked the owner if I could do a burrito and chip combo and he looked at me like I was nuts, said«no», and then just turned to the next customer. Lol okay thanks man. Otherwise a good experience but only come here if you’re looking for a quick meal.

Stopped in to get something to drink after walking around all day. Didn’t get any food but the place was decorated in a super cool way. The guy at the counter was friendly and said he found all the decorations around the city. I will be back to try the food because the vibe was so interesting!

Meh. That’s how I describe this place. Food is decent, had the steak burrito bowl which was ok, very watery though. Also had the carne asado taco which was more memorable. Main problem isn’t the food — the place seemed unkempt and the way the food is displayed where they make it is rather unappetizing. Also, the guy making my food was wearing a cut off t-shirt. I don’t want to see your armpit hair while your making my burrito bowl. Overall, pretty unimpressed — multiple chains doing this kind of thing with more care — putting out a better product with more professionalism.

Great vibe. Very friendly staff. Excellent artwork and music. The food is fresh and tasty. Low cost. Tuesdays are taco Tuesdays with 2.50 tacos. Pico de gallo was delicious. As was the vegetarian burrito. Hearty portions. Like a Chipotle– order what you like. Tacos come with a side of beans and rice. Two tacos with beans and rice for $ 4 is a great deal!

Food was fantastic. Just jn from California and wasn’t expecting too much. The burrito bowl was out of this world. Great food, friendly staff and reasonably priced. The guacamole is the best I’ve ever had!!!
