I had never been to this Applebee’s before. Came here with my boss and the food was excellent. The service was top notch as well. My only big complaint was that my main course arrived 1 – 2 bites after I had gotten my side salad. So that made the table very full and I had to decide, forget the salad which I really wanted or eat a quickly cooling main course. My other dining mates got their appetizers quite a bit before I got my salad and had plenty of time to finish them before the main course was served.

I am tempted to start with 5 stars before my food even arrives. Everything about this place is starting out on the right foot. Service– friendly and prompt. Interior — really impressive new branding. The menu looks great. Check the pics attached. We ordered a drink, a Margarita, and its good. The prices seem very reasonable, especially for the PNW. I was quickly disappointed when I saw that chicken tenders is now a meat they’re trying to build an entrée around. Very poor choice on their part. My GF ordered it anyway: Chicken Tenders and 4 cheese macaroni. Not too good. The macaroni was so bad I wouldn’t have been able to eat it. I had two noodles out of it. Yuck. And I love 4 cheese macaroni, and lived in Italy for 4 years and would order it frequently. The menu items need a bit of work. But for«2 for $ 20» and«2 for $ 25» specials, you can’t ask for the world, which is why I’m holding my rating at 4 stars overall. 3 for the food, 5 for everything else. I like where Applebee’s is heading. I will come back again soon.

What was once ½ price apps is now less than half the size they used to be. 8 boneless wings at 4.50, regular price 9 $? More like half sized. I suggest skipping the ½ «price» apps.

This restaurant had good food, good service! However it is the only place where the prices are not identified in the menu! Therefore I never order any item where the prices are hidden! They may be taking advantage of the stupid people! When you receive soup never any crackers or bread!

Service was poor to say the least. Food was WAY overpriced for what you get. I had the maple bacon chicken wrap and I’d swear that the chicken was prepared in a microwave. The only reason they received two stars from me was the spicy cucumber slices that were the tastiest part of my meal as they were clearly fresh.

Absolutely the single worst hamburger ever. The lettuce, tomato etc. Was missing. And the services was so-so. Not a place I would recommend.

I’m really disappointed with the level of service tonight. I put in an online order at 5pm to be ready at 6pm. I arrive 5 minutes early. No server comes out. I wait till 6:20pm to finally get out of my car and ask what happened to my order. The girl at the desk says she will go find it… she never comes back. I then see a server go out with some food for some other car, and have to beg for my food like some kind of street dog. If an order says to be picked up at a certain time, I expect it to be ready. If not, a simple phone call that it would be delayed would be appropriate. My food also tasted like it had been sitting at the window for 30 minutes. But how about some service outside? Again, really disappointed. The one time I go out for food this week I get treated terrible.

Ordered online. Was ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I never even had to get out of the car or let them know I was there by calling. The food was good. Went with the two for twenty meal. Onion rings for an appetizer, and two chicken strip baskets. The portions were excellent and the food was delicious. It was still warm upon arrival at home. And the triple chocolate meltdown dessert is amazing. All in all good food. Couldn’t say anything about the restaurant Inside as I never got out of the car.

Personally, I’d give Applebees a 1 star for food. But I wasn’t here to eat, and instead with a big birthday lunch. I just had their blondie dessert. Um, pretty flavorless and awful at $ 5.99. Anyway, everyone else liked their meals and the service was good, considering it’s hard to wait on a larger party. Staff was patient and accommodating. 6 eaters, the bill was $ 91, so not bad at all, considering drinks and an app. Interior was usual Applebees. At each table their is some weird iPad like device, where you can play games(.99cents) and order more drinks/get bill/etc. To me that is rather pointless if you’re service is good, which for us it was. Would I be back? Um, no. But the birthday«girl»(she’s 77) will.

I would not be surprised to see this chain declare bankruptcy in the near future — this experience just screamed, «We’re struggling!». The food is about the same quality as you would find in at a 7 – 11, but costs about 5 times as much. Portions were meager and the taste was bland, but for the same price, my daughter and I could have(should have) gone to Red Robin. After a poor experience at the Albany location, and another at this location, I don’t plan to ever visit another Applebee’s. I would imagine the little touch-screen computer consoles are intended to cut down on paying wait-staff, but since they were never actually used, I’m a little dumb-founded at their purpose. It seemed to me that they were just taking up space on the table.

When I was a child, my parents would gather at friends houses and discuss what they referred to as ‘restaurant stories.’ You know, those stories of experiences at restaurants that will live on in your memory for years to come. Well I had one of these stories come to life at this Applebee’s. First some precursors: 1. This is a chain establishment. 2. They are bound to abide by the rules of their corporate overlords. 3. The STAFF in NOWAY were to blame for the things that happened. Okay, so my partner and I were out with friends one fine Sunday afternoon and wanted to go out for some dessert and maybe a Spanish Coffee, we were on our way to another Salem establishment as we drove past this location and decided; «They have a full bar, lets just go here,» so we did. We settled into our seat and we all ordered Spanish Coffee. Our server stated that they don’t do Spanish Coffee because the alcohol content was too high(corporate limits the proof of the booze we were told). No worries we thought, we will just go ahead an get Irish Coffee’s instead. Off goes our server only to return to tell us that they don’t have the Irish Whiskey for Irish Coffees either, so we ordered a simple hot coffee drink with regular whiskey. minutes after she leaves she returns to tell us that they only have four bar mugs and that they would have to wash them first. Okay we agree. When she returns with our drink we are informed that they did in fact have a lower proof irish whiskey and that they could make us Irish Coffee’s after all, BUT we would have to finish the drinks we had because, you guessed it, they had to wash the mugs again. We finished and gave her the mugs. She returned a short while later with the Irish Coffee’s. As we toasted our good fortune, my partner looked in his drink to find a fly trapped between the coffee goodness and the whipped cream. We pointed this out to our server and she had the good sense to be mortified. Once again the mug was whisked away, rewashed and brought back to my partner. So with all this, you would think we would get a visit from the manager apologizing for the silliness that became our evening, but nope, never showed. We ordered desserts and enjoyed them with our coffees. One round of the drinks were comped, but honestly, we should have been comped the entire experience. We will most likely go back but will know going in that there is a limit to what they can do. As long as our expectations remain below the bar, we will not be disappointed. And seriously Applebee’s, get more bar mugs.

Some Applebee’s are better than others but not by much. We had the onion soup and it was okay. Service was good but the food in general left much to be desired, very uneventful but must admit that the area was to our liking(first time in Salem, Oregon). I am sure Salem has much better places to eat but we resorted to the familiar and for that there is always a price to pay. In this case food that is plain average, never spectacular. Total amount for 3 people was around $ 43 before gratuity. Had a hamburger with bacon twice, with different breads, fish and chips, ice tea and coffee. Nice area, average place to eat.

Had my second visit here tonight and can’t really find a reason to dislike the place. Tonight was not as busy as the first visit(it was on a Friday night), but service was still great and the meal was cooked to order, hot, and very tasty. Yes, it’s a chain, but I have to say that this particular link in the chain serves up a great meal. Everyone in our party loved their food.

This Applebee’s just isn’t good. It was really empty when we went, never a good sign. Everything about it was sub par, the food, our server, the drinks. Their bar has lots of choices that sound awesome until you get them and they suck.

Yup. Exactly what you would expect from a chain. Bland, unimaginative food for too much money. Go get tacos at the restaurant across the parking lot instead.
