I was very hopeful because I’ve been to several small town Chinese restaurants and they are usually very friendly and flavorful. This place was plenty friendly… however, I was the only customer. It was drab and colorless and not very well taken care of. The food was terrible. I only got a hot and sour soup with a side of crabmeat rangoons. Completely flavorless. Truly… terrible food. I had to spice up the soup as best as I could with spices from home. The rangoons went straight to the garbage. Horrible food. I’ll never go back.

I went to Lams Garden for the first time because the other Chinese place in town I usually go to was closed. Located in an old KFC building which is half painted in an unattractive shade of pale green, the wife and I have been apprehensive about going there, but we were in the mood for Chinese and didn’t feel like a road trip. Walking into the place, The dining area seemed clean, but I was the only one there. They once had a buffet, but now they do not. The food seemed very basic. It wasn’t bad, but there really isn’t any wow factor either. It was just okay. The lady behind the counter who took my order was very friendly and sweet. They were even willing to modify one of their dishes since I try to keep my sugar intake to a minimum. I got Schezuan chicken, which wasn’t as hot as I prefer. My son got General Tso’s chicken, which had more of a home cooked appeal. He said it was good. My wife got Pepper Beef, and was not crazy about it. I might try them again to check out the Gen Tso’s chicken.
