U-Haul

I buy boxes from this store regularly and have also rented vehicles from them. I own a small business and have had to refer clients to them. I’m happy to say that each encounter with the staff here is pleasant and professional. I’ve seen other customers give these folks a hard time and I’ve been impressed as I watched them handle difficult situations with professionalism and a cool head. I’m very happy to have them so close to me, I can bop over and grab what I need very easily.

Absolutely terrible storage place. I was renting a storage unit for a year without a price increase and since I’ve had two unsolicited price increases within the past 3 months. I called the customer service line to only be tossed around to different people multiple times without any resolution. I had to explain my story 6 times and got no where. Worst place to store.

Tried to get trailer hitch. The process was explained that you pre-​paid for part and tentatively scheduled appointment in 2 weeks. The two weeks gives them time to obtain the parts necessary. Uhaul should call me when part came it to confirm appointment.
I paid for the part and scheduled the tentative appointment. 3 weeks when by, Uhaul never called.
I contacted Uhaul. The part has not come in yet. I scheduled the 2^nd tentative appointment another 2 weeks out. That date came and went. It’s been 6 weeks, still no hitch, no calls from Uhaul.
Every time I call I get an overflow call center not on site.

While this place used to be run down, its now a clean place with great staff. The best location in town smack in the middle of downtown next to Tropicana Field. I’ve had a storage here for 2 years now & am happy with employees, location, & price.

I have been here multiple times for moving. In fact, I have used this Uhaul location for every move of mine since 2009 (I know only 3 moves, but I also rented from here to pick up to furniture on Craiglist once and I have helped friends move and accompanied them here to pick up a truck).
Staff friendliness: 4 of 5 — so pretty friendly.
Staff speed of service: 1 of 5 — every time I have been here they have been so slow.
Size of store: 2 of 5 — maybe this should be 1, but I am sure there are smaller stores. They also have floors and floors of storage. Except that one time I was here I overheard a guest complaining that the elevator was broken. It was fixed on my most recent visit, so do not worry, but just thought it was important to share this. There are many other stores that are bigger, specifically the one on Hillsborough Ave in Tampa is HUGE!
Lot size and number of trucks: 3 of 5 —Only one time did they not have the truck requested. And that was when my friend was moving. I have been lucky and they always have been able to meet my needs.
Overall, they still only get a 2 star. The speed of the staff is very annoying. After waiting in line, you finally are the next one up, but the employee has to go out and inspect the truck with the customer I front of you. It takes forever!!! Moving sucks, and it takes forever! The very least Uhaul could do is hustle to make sure you can get in and get out, especially when you reserved the truck online ahead of time.
