Smiley’s Deli is out of this world. They’re very friendly, easy going guys. The Tony Montana is a must. The sizes of the food are out of this world. Don’t forget about the desserts! Smiley knows what he’s doing and he’s doing it well. You gained a life long customer.
Anything less than 5 stars is absurd. If you’re going to rate it less then you may as well just delete your Unilocal account.

When I tell you this was heaven I mean I went back the next day! Service is excellent !!! We had the famous tony montana and tres leches HOLY HEAVEN!!! I bought 3 more to take home. Now that’s a real Puerto Rican treat! The food in my opinion is worth every penny !!! Best in town gets no better!!! Go here you’ll love love love it!!!

Called in an order. Guy was really nice on the phone. I was about five minutes away and he said it would be fifteen. By the time I got there the sandwich was already up on the counter ready to go. I asked for sauce on the side and they gave me two huge things of it.
We ordered their version of the Cuban. It’s not traditional, but it’s delicious. They give you a TON of meat and the bread is super fresh. I think the total was a little over $ 10 but it’s a huge sandwich!
I was actually at bodega before I stopped here. They had about 20 people in line and I didn’t feel like waiting. I’m so not mad about my decision. This place is delicious! I will definitely order from them again.

I really can’t add much more to the other reviewers who love this place. While it’s not exactly off the beaten path it’s easy to drive right by 100 times and not notice it’s there. I first tried the large roast pork and it came just under 2 lbs. It was delicious and great value. Two meals for me. I’m not a big fan of the Cuban but I tried their version of it, the Tony Montana and I’m hooked. I’ve been back 3 more times and it’s a Tony M for me every time. This is a great little no frills sandwich shop.

Tried the large Tony Montana today and it’s huge!!! They definitely don’t skimp on the meat. The layers of ham and pulled pork are greatly defined and thick. Overall, a very satisfying sub. Going back soon for more.

Got the large Joe Montana. It was delicious with lots of good fresh ingredients and was enough for my girlfriend and me for lunch without any problem. Would def come back again to try their other options.

This little deli isn’t much. In fact, they don’t even have any real place to sit. But what they do excel in is huge portions of shear deliciousness. Seriously, my Carlito’s Picante was amazing. It was $ 9.35 for a large and worth every penny. The pork was super tender and oozing Mortadella. I’ve never had chicharron in a sandwich before and it was a nice crunchy addition. I couldn’t finish the whole sub so I did have the second half for dinner. It was just as delicious (minus the chicharron).
Two tips:
1. These are messy sandwiches and they leak through the parchment paper. Do yourself a favor and get/​bring extra napkins especially if you plan on eating in your car.
2. Take the chicharron off of the sandwich if your storing it as a leftover unless, you enjoy pork bubblegum.

Went here expecting a regular deli but it was more Latin and Mexican food than a regular deli. They didn’t have a seating area but the people working there were helpful. More of a grab and go place. I tried the Tony Montana sandwich with my boyfriend and it was so good we were fighting each other for the last bite! Get a large because it’s so good and doesn’t seem to last. I didn’t really like this place at first just from the looks, but their food is to die for. If only they had delivery.

Great small local deli with amazing Cuban food and huge sandwiches. A small Cuban was easily split between my husband and I. The sauce they put on the sandwich is fantastic! We also got a side or red beans and rice and they were yummy. The rice was a little crunchy, I thought it could have been cooked a little more. I believe it is a locals secret at the moment so get in while the line is short, but it won’t last long. Soon friends will tell friends who will tell friends and this little Gem will be packed !! Enjoy :)

I had the Pollo Loco Sub and the tostones. I’ll keep this short only because the other 24 reviews pretty much summed up my experience. Let me put it this way, I would have posted pictures but I ate it all before I had time to focus my camera. Oh well, loved every morsel. Filling and inexpensive!

Both guys working were helpful and nice in recommending some options. This place is easy to drive by and completely miss, but it is definitely worth the stop. I grabbed a half sandwich and it was huge, not to mention a great price. The portions here are awesome and the quality is on point. Next on my list to try is a salad there. I was in and out of there with a sandwich in hand in minutes so it’s convenient for lunch goers.

Heard this place had the best Cuban, and it does! Not a lot of room to eat in the store, but perfect place to grab a sandwich and go.

Yes, yes, Y E S to everything about Smiley’s. I’ve been coming here for about a year and never get tired of their amazing food. I usually go for the Salchi papi (fries w/​hot dogs and lettuce, tomatoes, onions + cheese) or the pork jibarito (roasted pernil between two fried platanos). Their food is massive, you will not finish it in one sitting.
Love the customer service — they really care about providing great food and catering to you.
Con is that they’re on a mini plaza strip where ample parking is not present. Call in your order and take it home!

Was lucky to have the day off so I decided to check out Smiley’s Deli in St Pete for lunch. I had heard their Cuban sandwiches were huge and tasty, so I had to try one. I called my order in as I was short on time, and it was ready when I arrived. When I got home and unwrapped this thing I was pretty happy with my choice. This sandwich is called the Tony Montana and I ordered the large for $ 9. This thing was huge and could easily be 2 – 3 lunches. The flavor was great and I was very happy with the sandwich. I really look forward to trying out some of the other options they offer. If you are in the mood for a good Cuban, or a sandwich in general, I would highly recommend Smileys.

It’s called Smiley’s because the dude that owns it is always smiling. He always greets you when you walk in with a big smile .The food is awesome, fresh made, huge portions, and reasonable prices .The food is prepared right in front of you and my favorite is the Tony Montana. Very cool murals on the wall but very limited seating… best for take out. I wish you much success Smiley. Try this place and you will never go to Jersey Mikes or Firehouse subs again.

OMG Awesome. I knew from reading the reviews to order a small. We really could have shared one. I cannot say enough about the freshness of the bread and meat. And woo hoo, the sauce rocks. Great food, great prices… you totally get your moneys worth. Looking forward to coming back and turning my friends and family on to this gem.

Ive been wanting to try this place for sometime now and am very glad I did! They now have a new regular. To start off, the service was fantastic. Very upbeat people that know how to make a rediculous sandwich. There is not much seating inside although it is very clean for a small deli.
Now to the most important part, the food. Unfreaking believable! I ended up getting the large Tony Montana. Saying this is large is an understatement. The sandwich was super fresh and tasty. I cant wait to try the other menu items as well. Do yourself a favor and get to Smileys.

The whole family had the Tony Montana (their version of a Cuban)…it was huge (even though I got the small), and so tasty! They gave a special ‘house’ sauce too that they add which is to die for! It was a great place and an awesome lunch choice!

This place has been open for over a year and I regret not giving this place a try earlier. Here’s why:
1. The name. I wondered why this place was called Smiley’s. Then it immediately was evident walking in. The owner and his staff were smiling ear to ear excited that you came to visit them. They have great customer service and the owner treats each person that comes in like a guest and a friend.
2. The process. Watching them prepare your food shows the care they take in giving you a good experience. I took a peek back in the kitchen and saw them press my empanada from scratch. Also, the pork they used for my sandwich was pulled out from their oven steaming hot. Talk about FRESH. Then there’s the signature sauce they make in house which. This adds a nice personal touch to their own sandwiches.
3. The value. Look at their menu and you’ll see pretty reasonably priced items. But that’s not all. They pack their meat on the subs like no other. Trying the Tony Montana (their version of the Cuban) was a bite full of meaty goodness! There’s a thick layer of pork and a hefty amount of ham. Matter of fact, when I picked my large size sub, It was like I grabbed a dumbbell. That thing was heavy! So, if you order a large sub, you may want to share it with a person, or maybe even two! lol
No longer will this place be under my radar. I’m so glad I got to try their food out. Now I can’t wait for my next visit!

This place is just flat out awesome! I was in the mood for a good sandwich and Mazzaros was just closing up and this popped up on the Unilocal radar. It’s more of a sandwich shop than deli that has a distinct Latin flair (the owner is Puerto Rican) where you can get sides like fresh made plátanos and tostones. They also offer meats like pork or chicken with rice and beans and something called a salchi papi which is a pile of fries and hot dogs covered with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese and smothered in a special pink sauce. It’s huge and looks delicious and I might try that on my next trip, but the star of this place is their sandwiches. They make a variety of hot and cold sandwiches either 12 or six inch, but it’s what is in them that is so impressive! I opted for their version of the Cuban sandwich and it was insane! I got the 12 inch sandwich and it includes over a pound of meat, no exaggeration! Roasted shredded marinated pork that was delicious, a pile of sweet ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickels, onions and a special sauce all pressed on La plancha and crisped up to perfection. This thing was enormous! I’m a big boy, and can throw down, but this sandwich fed me for two meals! That and the fact the tostones came with four nice fresh (cut the plantain right in front of me) peices for $ 1.50 and this place will definitely be in my regular rotation. The owner is super nice and genuine and I’m a fan of supporting local businesses. Check them out, you will not be let down!
