I had a great time and was thrilled that my buddies Grace and Boon came out to party with me. The energy and enthusiasm for the Deuces area is terrific. Chief’s and Lorene’s are great places for delicious food and they delivered. Chief’s has a wonderful atmosphere and patio. Lorene’s is more appropriate for take-out. The vitality of the area includes these cool eateries, a market, Sylvia’s, the Manhattan Casino, the African American Museum, an great art gallery(909), Night Flow fruit salads and stews up the block, and a lot of churches. It’s a cool place to check out and you can tour the African American heritage trail signs which cover some of the history. Amy Carson Sauers and others from the Deuces Live organization and SPC did a great job arranging the event. The movie, Think Like a Man, was a lot of fun. Sharing with community members was great and Will Packer and his mom coming through to visit with us was a REAL treat. God bless them all. :)
