Hargrove Donna, DO – Bay Gynecology

Came here by referral of someone I knew. Go in and sit down to talk and discuss any issues or concerns before exam, total waste of time since any issues or concerns seemed to be either not even listened to by the doctor or blown off as if your stupid or told that’s a common pain. Same issues with another doctor they are asking about testing being done or images being done … NEVER ONCE !!! I am finding out that I have issues that need surgical attention now. I guess the pain I felt and the discomfort I was going through wasn’t a concern enough for the doctor. Good thing I found my new doctor 2^nd visit and I have at least knowledge of why I’m in pain.

I went to Dr. Hargrove this past January for my yearly pap, exam, and to talk to her about trying to get pregnant soon. We met in her office before my actual physical exam, for about 15 minutes to talk about my history, etc. She was very kind, didn’t rush me, answered all of my questions. We did the exam, she found something abnormal, and helped me schedule an ultrasound IN her office and said she would be present to go over the results that same day. Ultrasound came and she was there, explained everything she saw. I ended up having a large grapefruit sized tumor on my right ovary and I was panicked. I thought I had cancer, I thought I’d never be able to have kids, etc. She stayed with me and helped talk me down off of my ledge of anxiety. She again, answered all of my questions, was very patient with me, and was very comforting as I was not expecting to hear what I heard. She referred me to a great surgeon (Dr. James LaPolla) and I had surgery. She followed up with me a few weeks after surgery and I can’t say enough how much I appreciated all of her kindness. She is one of the only doctors to spend as much time with me as she did. It was a very scary moment in my life, and she was there in person, and over the phone to ease all of my anxieties. I will never go to another GYN. She’s always on time, her assistant Dana is so sweet and returns all my calls in a timely fashion, and is very knowledgeable. They are a great team.

Clearly Dr. Hargrove is having her staff and friends sign up for Unilocal to write reviews to contradict my honest and accurate assessment of my experience. How unfortunate that a medical doctor would turn away a new patient for being ten minutes late. I am not illiterate, nor was I provided any instructions. When someone is new to a business or area, such as Bayfront, sometimes a little compassion and kindness might be offered instead of dismissing someone without any discussion. I found this doctor and her office staff to be thoroughly lacking in customer service. As an FYI to the two reviewers who just signed up for Unilocal,I have a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, so I beg to differ with you on your assessment of her practice and your ad hominem attacks on my review. Dr. Hargrove might right a wrong by making a phone call to me and apologizing for the mishap.
