This was our first attempt at Durty’s. The first thing we noticed when sitting down was the high level of flies buzzing around. That was definitely a distraction and not what I’m looking for while eating. Additionally the music was playing really loudly. We ordered the onion rings, BLT, and Durty’s steak wrap. All of them weren’t bad but were really boring. Steak was bland and onion ring batter tasteless. Add that to the constant flies and we won’t be going back.

I was introduced to this place over the weekend by purchasing a groupon and I was indeed pleasantly surprised. Amazing burger! I ordered the black and bleu with no bun, lettuce instead(gluten free) and it was delicious. They had a live cover band at the time I was there which wasn’t too loud. That’s a big pet peeve of mine when out with friends. Very ‘Irish pub like feel’ and extremely nice staff.

This bar was terrible. Awful screamo music mixed with oldies, weird. My friends and I ordered drinks. We were served our beers but not my friends shot. Before cashing us out or our friend receiving his shot, the bartender went outside… For 15 minutes. During this time none of the other 2 bartenders talked to us. When the bartender came back in he didn’t even look at us, but went to another customer and started showing her his tattoos. During this time we went to the bathroom that smelled so much of sewage that it almost wasn’t tolerable to even pee. I wouldn’t ever go back to this bar if I were being paid to do so.

I’m torn on my rating for this place but am opting for a four. Had a groupon and since it’s right down the street figured why not?! Sat at a high top by the bar and it took the dingy bartender quite a few mins to come over and take a drink order although there were maybe 6 people at the bar and no one in the restaurant. Black & tan for me, Smithwicks for him. We peruse the menu and decide on smoked fish dip, served with irish soda bread, crackers, and jalapenos. A surprisingly large order comes and surprise again, it’s darn good! The soda bread was a little heavy for it but I get the concept so no big deal. Now we have a waitress who on initial meetings seems, well, dumb as a brick, but turns out to be on top of things more then said bartender. So we opt for a pizza, the vegi as it’s lent(yeah that matters to me-NOT) no peppers on half. A cup of irish stew too please. Whoops, we’re out of stew, so no go there. Pizza comes, looking good, no peppers on half as requested. WOW, lots of roasted garlic on this bad boy and the crust is somewhat, ok, no somewhat, really dense. Not bad tasting, just very heavy. I manage thru once piece and he has two(which he pays for all night because of said denseness) It’s not a bad pie, I’m not sure if I’d get it again though. I have to say the drink prices here were awesome! I don’t know if it was happy hour, I assume so, but the beers were $ 3.50 each and with the groupon it made it a great deal.(I’m sure they’ll change their policy on that soon) Would I go back? Maybe, I’d like to see if their other food is good. The kitchen was clean, the bathroom, not so much, The crowd, mixed, a little seedy, some drunken regulars, old men drinking alone, but some normal looking couples too.
