I had ordered a half slap hot. Sauce was very good, the quality of the ribs not so good. Employees were great. I’ll try the beef sandwich next time

This is some damn good BBQ. This is a little hole in the wall take out place, no tables, no booze and all CASH. Its on the south side and I never have any reason to go to the south side, except now. I’m a fan of tomato based BBQ sauce and baby back ribs, this place has neither. They have either hot or mild mustard based Carolina sauce, but it is GOOD! I tried a full rack of ribs for $ 21, you get a huge slab, enough for lunch and dinner. The seasoning was perfect and the ribs were so tender with minimal fat. I also got the chopped pork and it was so good, no fat hand chopped slightly sweet but so delicious with the BBQ sauce. They also have one of the best tasting sweet potato pies. It is well worth going off the beat and path for some good olé BBQ. I will surely return.

Long, long ago, I used to eat at Geech’s BBQ in Sarasota. Greatest yellow/​orange hot sauce in the world, fantastic ribs and sweet potato pie, etc. But back in (if I recall correctly) the late 1970s, Mr. Geech was tossed in the slammer for breaking and entering, and the restaurant disappeared shortly thereafter. But lo and behold, it’s back in the form of Connie’s up the road in St. Pete! Apparently, these folks are his cousins or something like that. Same food, same great sauce. I was a little hesitant to pay $ 21 for a slab of ribs, but it was huge – more than enough for the two of us, so it’s worth it if you want the good stuff. And everything else is cheaper. You can get half a pint of the sauce for an extra buck, so I got a couple to put on my own ribs next time I grill. If you want great, smoky BBQ that isn’t smothered in sugary sauce, this is the place to go. I hear the mild sauce is good, but I’ve never tried it. I kind of like a little burn. But bring money – plastic is not accepted.
