Do you really have to sit and tell your co-worker(who is actually trying to get some work done and clearly embarrassed by your loud voice) all about last night? And even worse, the next was how another coworker was discussed by same lady on how the not-present-to-defend-herself coworker«doesn’t do her work properly». Us patients aren’t interested in any of those stories. No, you weren’t talking to us, but you were so loud that we couldn’t help but overhear. All of the above spells out unprofessional employee. Pretend to work if you really have nothing to do, at least while there are patients who can overhear you. I hope someone from the center sees this and addresses the matter with the receptionists.
