Smallish store aimed toward the student population. Was nice to take a stroll through bit wouldn’t be my first choice if I really wanted to visit a book store.

cute college B & N bookstore located in the heart of historic University of South Florida & St. Petersburg Florida campus. the store is not physically large, but it is prominently located on a terrific corner at 3d & Dali across from the school’s soccer practice fields. there is ample meter parking and you can walk here on a nice day from just about anywhere. the store has an excellent coffee area with a sit down area and food as well. its not as big as say Penn’s but it is cute and nice. the merch is ace – they have USF cotton sailing caps in cotton weave white and other choice merch with USF labels. the green & white logos & colors rock. the magazine rack here is great – they have ArtForum, UnCut and other exceedingly artsy and hip magazines. Writers and Poets was on the rack as were many biz mags. the book selection was superb – an intellectual paradise of scholarly works. many first run hardcovers, paperbacks, works of biography, science, history, complex reference works, and a 2d floor devoted to texts. a superb bookstore in every respect.

*My 400th review* This Barnes and Noble bookstore is one of the only ones downtown and serves as the main bookstore for USFSP, which is located nearby around the corner. The bookstore has a decent size inventory of USF shirts and other«school spirit» items. For USF students, this is also the place to buy cap/gown for graduation and textbooks(If you want to get ripped off that is. Yup, i just said it. college university bookstores are a rip off for textbooks. Buy those online from other sites if at all possible). The book selection is not as large here as at other locations, but decent overall. The staff at the cashier desk are usually pretty helpful and enthusiastic in helping you find particular items. The starbucks staff whips up a mean caffeinated beverage and keeps all the groggy college students happy and awake. Outside is a nice seating area to enjoy the breeze and the beautiful florida sunshine. Parking is a bit limited as you can only park on the street out front or on the side of the building and it tends to get busy quickly. Worth a stop!

The correct address here is Third Street South, as in south of Central. There is a scarcity of bookstores in Downtown St Pete, and this inviting place provides a neat coffee shop/snack bar offering Starbucks coffee, plus soft drinks, pastries and munchies. Outdoor tables and a bicycle rack. Bus stops in front, street parking only. Quick pleasant service yesterday morning, for a small decaf. In front of the counter there is a compact circular dining area with small round tables and wood chairs. There are also straight counters along the window glass on either side of the café door, with the same wood chairs. Pleasant music playing as you relax and sip your favorite drink. Artsy wall posters describing noted written works, such as A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Walden Pond. It’s right by USF St Pete campus and a block away from Albert Whitted Airport.
