The food is not too great. The Mexican dishes are clearly Americanized and seem very bland. Granted, I’m from Phoenix so I have high standards when it comes to Mexican food. The décor is fairly tacky as well.

Consistent. Love the enchiladas verdes and fajitas volcom. They serve Victoria. We are there at least once a month as a family (4−7+). My sisters get their grilled fish tacos every time and love them. Chicken nachos are great! Chips and salsa is good and plenty. Go check them out!

Good service and fresh food. It’s always refreshing to go to a place where you know the food is fresh. The chicken chimichanga here is filling and tasty. It’s not greasy so you don’t feel weighed down or groggy after eating. The mango margaritas are pretty tasty. It’s low key and low priced without being divey.

I’ve been here a couple times and never have been disappointed. The staff are very lively, the prices are reasonable, and the food is amazing. I get the Yolandas chicken enchiladas and I never regret it. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed which makes for a nice evening.

I ordered a carry out over the phone and the guy was so rude I asked him to explain me some things he told me to look it up on their website where there was no description then I ordered bunch of vegetarian meals half of my order was messed up instead they gave me chicken… It wasn’t a pleasant experience :(

I am usually a fan of El Maguey. However on my lone visit to this location the service left much to be desired. It started with an older gentleman grunting something to us as we walked in and motioning to a table. Sat there without menus or silverware and waited. Finally got our own menus and a waitress came to take our order. After getting us our drinks she disappeared. The rest of the service was handled by random people dropping food at our table or us flagging down someone. Luckily the food was decent, so my family and I were able to laugh it off and enjoy ourselves anyway. Hopefully the next experience is better!

The taco shells doesn’t seem to be home made

Very pleased with both the service and the cuisine. This spot is a must try if you like Mexican food. Being from San Diego, CA my standards are high when it comes to this sort of thing. When the suggestion came to me I was skeptical to say the least. Pleasantly surprised. Fun atmosphere. Decent menu item selections.

While the restaurant staff is very friendly, the food is not exactly what I would go out of my way to have. The flavor profile on the few menu items I tried were just bland, lacking in good taste. It’s a shame too, I have eaten at their location in Ballwin and the food is amazing! I wish this location was just as good but you can’t win them all.

I could live off of frozen strawberry margs and cheese dip… But when I get an actual meal, Arroz con Pollo is amazing. Fajitas are always great. Chilaquiles are fantastic. I love el maguey!!!

El Maguey isn’t so cheap anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not expensive, but they’ve definitely raised their prices. The food is decent. You need to be careful ordering if you don’t want beef, beef, and beef… on, in and around a tortilla. Some of the combos can be monotonous. I enjoy the Enchiladas Verdes.
I could write a novel about how much I love the strawberry margaritas. These margs have serious tequila. I love when the glass develops a layer of ice on the outside and you know the alcohol in that glass is serious. :)
El Maguey is a good choice for inexpensive, decent Mexican food with average service.

One of my favs in the St Peters area. Great service and food. Anything is good on the menu. You can’t go wrong going here.
Usually go 2 – 3 x per month. Never had a bad meal… always great.
Fun place for families and larger groups as well.
