This place takes me back to the«good ol days.» I make it sound like I’m an old lady or something but seriously. When I was a little girl, swimming at Hueston Woods or Brookville Lake was like a treat for me. I loved it! So this place was like the lake on steroids, the only thing they could add to make it more like an adult wonderland is some slides! My friend had been going to White Rock for years, and she invited me to go about a month or so ago. We go REALLY lucky because it was a week day, and besides she and I there was only a couple of other people there. We had SO much fun, and we felt like the whole park was ours! It was the perfect day! We swam, and jumped and swung from the rope swing and swam and jumped some more. I was truly exhausted at the end of the day, and I felt like a kid again. There really is no better adrenaline rush than to take a running leap off of a 30 – 40 foot platform down into the water below. Man, it makes me yearn for summer already!!! I agree with another reviewer that some water shoes would be helpful. I ended up taking my shoes off so I wouldn’t lose them, and it was definitely some rocky terrain in some places where shoes would have been helpful. Oh another tip, if you bring flotation devices, they do have an air pump for you to blow them up with too. It takes awhile, but hey it’s free! I can’t attest to the camping or the bathrooms because we weren’t there long enough for either. A storm started to roll through, so we ended up heading out once it was looking pretty dark. But all in all, I love this place, and would love to throw myself off some more platforms next summer: D

This is a little hidden gem.kinda. Out in BFE, this fun place was made out of an old rock quarry that is now filled with water and littered with high dives, zip lines, free falls and floating docks. It’s definitely nothing special, but it’s cheap, fun, and entertaining. Unfortunately, we chose a terrible day to visit because it started pouring buckets about an hour after we showed up. We only got to jump off of one 17′ high dive, but were told the highest one was 33′. It was a pretty cool place, but a bit dumpy. The restrooms were completely filthy and the worst part about the whole place. We will definitely be going back when the weather is nice!

Biggest disappointment of our road trip. The night started of very nice, we set our tent and other campers came over to say hi and helped us with our fire. Everything was going well, aside from all the weed smoking and vulgar language happening around us, until we went to bed at 11:30 and it became white trash city. We managed to go to sleep even with all the partying just to later be woken up at 12:30 to fights breaking out right outside of our tent; eventually a security person came to break them of, or at least attempted to… They continued arguing and playing loud music until about 3am. Here I was thinking«well at least we will get a good rest since they probably won’t wake up early» and boy was I wrong, we were woken up at about 7:30am. We decided we didn’t even want to go swimming anymore so we packed our stuff and left. We asked for our money back since we had already paid for the day of swimming and the staff was very understanding and returned most of our money back. We will definitely not be coming back here anymore. They advertise a nice fun and friendly place to come camping and swimming when at the end all it is, is a big white trash party where people come smoke weed, get wasted, and get rowdy; so unless that’s what your looking for in your road trip experience I would suggest to stay away from this place. Also forgot to mention the bathrooms are dirty with no door or lights, so everyone could walk in and see me peeing.

I thought this place was great for camping and swimming. There are no life guards but«water watchmen» who are on various(3+?) spots on the cliffs with whistles. There is no beach, once you get into the water you can’t touch the bottom. Bring floaties if you get tired while swimming. I highly recommend investing in water shoes with straps so they stay on in the water while jumping in and swimming around. There is sharp rocks all over the swimming area and walkways to get to the different activities(rope jump, zip line, free swimming, cliff jumping– low and high). The rocks are very painful to walk on and people were wearing sneakers to avoid cuts. There are a lot of fire pits to select while picking a place to camp. We went down the hill and to the left(bit of a drop but cars were ok) and we have the forest behind us and a brook in front of us which had sheet rock on the bottom and you could walk all down the river(and fish) without getting even thigh deep. The people at the main office didn’t have anything we forgot so we had to make a trip to the dolor store on town which is a 10 minutes drive round trip. I would recommend bringing antibacterial gel because the bathroom on the site doesn’t have hand soap in the dispenser. The bathroom situation is not terrible but it’s not glamorous either. For the women it’s two toilets in a room. There is a plywood partition between them but no doors. So you are in a room with another person you are doing your business together. Hope that helps for anyone planning a trip here

Visited White Rock for the first time today. It’s about 40 minutes from my house and I went with my brother, boyfriend and his brother. It was the most fun id had in awhile! You pay $ 12 per person and then sign a waiver to get in. They allow you to bring alcohol and coolers, just NO glass bottles. The staff is very friendly, although very strict. They patrol the entire time, watching for underage drinking and stuff like that. You can go for the day and swim till 6, or you can camp out. There’s a rope swing, a zip line, and about 3 or four different jumping points to go off of, varying in height. There’s docks out in the middle that you can float on and watch people jump from, and outside the water they have volleyball set up. They have buildings near the front with bathrooms and concessions if you’re hungry. When we visited, they only had hot dogs and walking tacos, but I heard that there selection is sometimes different. It was an awesome atmosphere, lots of happy people just having a good time. Will definitely go again!

I’ve been to the St. Paul Cliffs twice and have had quite a bit of fun both times. I’m not a Hoosier but thanks to this park I have now been quarry jumping twice! The park is only about 30 – 40 minutes east of Indianapolis and consists of three quarries, one used for swimming and two for fishing. You are allowed to camp, swim, or fish; the park management charges a $ 10.00 entry fee for each activity. The swimming quarry has a really great set up: a zip line, a swing rope, 3 – 4 platforms of various heights, and a platform that lets you enter the water without jumping. Ladders are set up to help you climb back to the top after the high jumps. I first went two years ago and, since then, the management company has improved the quarry’s ladders, platforms, and added flotation dividers. I assume that as this place continues to become more popular that the amenities will continue to improve. Alcohol is permitted in the park, so long as it is not liquor or in glass bottles. You will have to bring it with you as none is sold on location. Expect to sign a really long waiver before you enter. During my last visit, it was extremely packed and so the bathroom situation, particularly for the women, was difficult to handle. The trip was still well worth it. I hope other quarry owners follow suit as this place will quickly become so popular that it won’t be able to handle all who want to visit.
