A great place to browse or buy. A huge variety of unique and interesting things. A true gem of a store and the owner is really cool.

Super duper gnarly(in the utmost positive way). This place has amazing furniture. Stuff you will never find anywhere else. Each time I have been there I have fallen in love with what I saw. I just wish I could afford it. The clothes are great. The mens clothes tend to run in smaller sizes, which is great if you are some skinny hipster… I am over 6′ 3″, so sucks to be me. I am totally used to it. BUT, if you are average size or slender… hit it up. Seems to be great pricing too. Everyone I have encountered who works there seems very down to Earth. I love this place, you have to check it out.

I went in this store for my first time yesterday. Upon entering, the woman at the counter was very nice! She was friendly and willing to answer any of my questions. I was in there more for the furniture. The selection is a little small but that might be because they just had a big sale. Some of the pieces were really cool, some a little pricey for the condition but you can find something that you love. Overall, I do like Up Six vintage and I think it’s worth checking out. I’ll be back!

Merriam Park has 4 vintage shops on the same intersection, and this one is my favorite for variety and value. More authentic vintage pieces than Everyday People, but still accessible for wearables from the 30’s to present(though stuff from the 60’s and 70’s seems to make up a majority). Unlike neighboring shops, they also have housewares and vintage toys and games — an old collection of Peanuts comics that my dad used to have a copy of is still my favorite find. Their store is open, bright, and pleasant for browsing, and the staff are always cheery and helpful.

If you’re looking for ‘60s polyester mod dresses, you want to go to here. Up Six is a vintage shop that has a decent selection. I really like their shoes and they have quite a lot of them, especially in smaller sizes. That doesn’t help me, but maybe it will help somebody with tiny feet. They also have some cool re-purposed jewelry like button earrings and such. I’ve never actually purchased anything here because most of it’s not my style aside from the shoes, but I’m not going to fault them for that. The clothes lean toward ‘60s and ‘70s, with more ‘80s wear thrown in nowadays. It’s well-organized, reasonably priced and the shop never feels crowded. They also have cookies for the customers sometimes! They have a small selection of housewares and furniture(mostly Eames era/mod and out of my price range), but this«short skirt» sign that I always want is not for sale. Why put it on display if it’s not for sale? P. S. The owner put together the St. Paul Retro Loop, which includes some of the area’s other vintage retailers.

Up Six is always a treat to look around. I’ve bought some pretty amazing treasures from here, mostly dresses and sunglasses. Seems most of the vintage clothing, jewelry, coats, and shoes are from the 70−80s, all very affordably priced. Typically there’s a large selection of cute shoes/boots, costume jewelry, and accessories.

Up Six is good, not great. They have plenty of coats, which is nice, and shoes. In fact I found a great pair of Frye cowboy boots there a few weeks ago, but they were too small(if you’re a size 5, you can send me a thank you note later). Their clothing selection leans toward the acrylic-sweater end of the spectrum, which is not really what I’m after. I like my vintage to be older. And not neon. Or flammable. The furniture side of the store is OK. I’ve seen some interesting pieces, but a bit overpriced for the condition.

Furniture, clothes and jewelry. Nicely organized store that is half furniture and half clothes. I like that it is not packed wall to wall like some vintage stores can be. Prices were alright.

So I visited here on the hunt for an 80s style formal dress for a halloween costume. This store was certainly the 80s dress jackpot. Especially if you were, say, a 26−28″ waist. Which I am not. But they had 20 dresses in varying sizes and designs. I found that most of the dresses were measured in waist sizes, although a few of them were still item/brand sized. The measurements weren’t entirely accurate, but I suppose they gave a ballpark estimate of whether a patron would or would not be able to wear it. The prices were a little higher than some of the other shops that I visited(Blacklist, Rewind) but lower than others as well(Lulas, B-squad, Vias, … and that other one on Selby, the name escapes me). I mean, thats ok, I’d still be purchasing a dress for fairly cheap. I can deal with that. But what really sort of ruined the experience for me was the staff. Ok, and maybe the ghetto-rigged fitting rooms. But mainly the staff(3.5 star review minus one for hipster workers). They completely ignored me even after I gushed a bit about our costume idea. The two or three of them were so busy talking to some guy that walked in, I ended up putting my own items back and getting new dresses myself. Struggling through the store with six dresses made of titanic sized portions of tulle, sequins, and taffeta. Then I got booted out of my fitting room that I had popped out of to renew my selection. That was pretty super too. ‘Mkay, sorry that I wasn’t cool enough to be all in on your conversation. But really, isn’t the point of working at a store kind of to help the patron buy shit? Not to glare at them and whisper behind their back? I did not make a purchase here. They probably whispered even more after that. «OMG whos that mess with the LL Bean fleece? Thats so lame, my mother wears those.» Sorry, I forgot my vintage whateverthefuckIshouldhavebeenwearing. I’ll bring it next time. Maybe then I’ll get some help.

So many of my most beloved clothing pieces have come from here that I have to conclude that this is my favorite clothing store, period. The proprietor is a cheery woman who began treating me as a regular after my second or third visit, and I love her taste. I would say that the majority of items I’ve purchased here were created in the ‘70s, and have included unique buttondown shirts(polka dots, stripes, solids, all kinds), boot-cut green jeans, interesting coats, overalls, and t-shirts without annoying nonsequiturs or pompous irony printed on them. Sometimes I feel that men’s sections at vintage stores are a bit of an afterthought, but not here. There is also a cool section of vintage(again, mostly late ‘60s– and ‘70s-era) housewares and furniture. I once purchased an old board game for my dad for Hanukkah. I now live in Chicago, but I make a point to stop in whenever I’m in St. Paul.

Up Six is a decent little vintage store across from O’Gara’s, so it is easy to find(although the sign is a bit hidden). They have anything from records and ashtrays to clothing and jewelry. They have really fun handbags and purses too.
