Renee and Kristin SLAYED the wedding ‘dos for my bridesmaids and me. Even having never worked on someone with dreadlocks before, they felt comfortable experimenting and came up with absolutely perfect! Everyone turned out so beautifully (and each one unique!), we were littered with compliments all night long. They were really affordable ($ 90/​head for wedding hair) and traveled to our hotel instead of making us come to them. The best!

I had been looking for a hair lady for about a year and had not been happy with my hair for even longer than that. I was referred to Sam Fritz at this salon and I have never been happier! She is the most personable cosmetologist I’ve ever seen and is worth every penny! I am finally happy with how my hair looks and my hair seems to be happy as well. It won’t stop growing since I’ve seen Sam and she suggested some products! I will continue to use her and recommend to anyone who asks!

i had a scheduled appointment Amanda, who was waiting for me. i described what i wanted, she did it. They are a little pricey, but 2 wks out & it it still looks the way i wanted. When I wash it, it just snaps into place. (That includes a hospital stay for an intestional obstructional)! what better reviewal can I give you?

I’ve been getting my hair done here for years and they always are so accommodating. While the prices tend to get a little steep at times, it’s worth the money and I always leave feeling pampered and pretty! Jessica does a great job and always has good recommendations for me. It’s easy to schedule an appointment last minute which is a huge plus for a procrastinator like me. I’ve also gotten spray tans here and they do an awesome job.

If you are looking for «the one”– that one hair stylist/​colorist that is PHENOMENAL at everything whether it’s a maintenance cut/​color or a dramatic change, than ALLIE KNUTSON is your girl! I’ve always worked in the beauty industry and I can truly say that she is amazing at what she does!
From my personal point of view she is the best when it comes to sassy short hair– mostly because that’s how I’ve had her cut my hair quite a few times. I always grow it out then decide that it’s time to get back to a trendy short cut & Allie kills it every time!
Her point of difference is the amount of passion she puts into every cut and color service she performs– you can just tell when shes cutting or coloring that the creativity is oozing out of her!
Bonus: you will always leave her happier than you first came in– she is such a positive and inspiring person!
Double bonus: she is actually really great at knowing what you’re trying to say when explaining a cut or color you want, «you know I want it to do that thing– and i want my color to be a warm caramel colored platinum blonde.» Which is basically a contradicting statement as far as color goes– but she asks the right questions and figures out what you’re truly looking for without getting frustrated with you or you with her– BEYOND AMAZING! (because hey, sometimes stylists/​colorists really are expected to have a magic wand like harry potter instead of shears.) I’d say Allie is as close to Harry Potter as you’re going to get. :)
Drawback: because she is FABULOUS she is tricky to get in to see– so call ahead for your appointment and set up your next appointment while you are still there!

I won’t go anywhere else to get my hair done!
This place treats you so well without the expensive prices!
My favorite stylist is Kelly B. She is such a genuine, sweet hearted girl! She really listens to what you want, and executes it well! She’s been doing this for years so she has a lot of knowledge but she stays up to date on what’s new and trendy too!
Love this place and I Love Kelly!
(Also, if you can’t find parking, there’s usually some around the side/​back in the lot!)

I figure since it has been more than a year Sun Bear deserved an update. I’ve been seeing Renee since my first cut, and every time I’m amazed and astonished after I get home. Too many times have I come home after a hair cut, took a shower, and two days later I hate what is framing my face. Every single time I’ve gone for a hair cut I’ve been so impressed by the confidence, precision, and execution of the hair cut. Then I go home, feel beautiful, and confident that I can actually manage this hair cut on my own. Yes, they may use a bunch of products you may never use in the salon. but Renee will ask you your regular routine and give you good tips without asking you to spend a whole lot of money. Even if you have something completely set in your mind, feel comfortable that she knows what she is doing and after 30 minutes you’ll be amazed at what is transforming in front of your face. She is also very down to earth, so if you truly don’t like what you have just tell her. She doesn’t take it as an insult, she takes it as a challenge. Most of the time she’ll probably agree with you and is understanding in what you are feeling.
I know this is heavy for a salon review… but as you ladies know. it’s super important to find the salon that works for you and also the hairstylist that makes you feel important and beautiful every time you walk out of the establishment. That is what they are there for, right?

David (hair stylist) and Ann (esthetician) are by far the best people and are worth the hour drive I make from Eagan during rush hour. Both take weeks to get in for an appointment, so make ahead.
David is the most talented artist in the Twin Cities! He’s been doing my hair for several years and recently he did an amazing ombré color on me that got so many compliments. He is also hilarious and is a super great friend while you are in the chair.
Ann is also the BEST. I am so relaxed on her bed. I get a brazilian every 5 weeks. She is fast and as non-​painful as possible. I totally trust her, and she uses the best products. I can’t imagine going to anyone else as long as I live in the state of Minnesota.

6 of us girls went here to start the day off for my sister’s bachelorette party. They gave us a small room that we all could hang out at because each girl has a different start time. That was very nice of them. While we waited we had mimosas and pastries (we brought them) but it was a nice touch to do so while we waited.
I decided to get the mud wrap and it was absolutely divine. Micha was the girl that did my wrap and she was great. Very friendly and explained everything she was doing. She made me feel comfortable since you have to strip down to almost nothing. One of the things that I absolutely love is that the ingredients for the mud are organic!
I would suggest not wearing much make up if at all since you do have to take a shower after. I had my hair all done and it did get wet so I don’t recomend doing your hair either. The wrap is a bit price $ 90 and $ 110 with tip but everyone girl needs some pampering so I say go for it.
Since I’m an out of towner I probably won’t be back in the near future but I suggest.

This place is just as good as the more expensive places in the city or south metro. Highly recommended, beautiful salon! Very classy and affordable.
