St Paul-Reformation Lutheran Church’elca’

This congregation is one I belonged to for 10 years. It has a long, long, long history of being «out in front» on social justice issues, whether that issue was integration of black and white during worship; or whether that issue was immigration; or whether the issue was liturgical language that intentionally included women; or whether that issue was the inclusion of GLBT persons in the life of the church.
On that last issue this congregation really has taken a stand and has thrived. One of their pastors is the Rev. Anita C. Hill, a lesbian woman in a committed relationship, whom the congregation called as pastor despite denominational rules against it (rules which have subsequently changed, in large part to the work of many members of this congregation).
Expect friendly people, fun music, a kid-​friendly environment, and a generally good time.
