St John’s Northeast Emergency Room

Amidst the chaos of my most recent move, I ended up flipping back on a chair and hitting my head very hard on the oven door handle… Ouchie!!!
I hesitate to go but after deliberating with Ci and getting her Hamline Freshman educated opinion, we headed to St. Johns. I purposely chose this ER instead of St. Josephs or Regions downtown because I felt St. Johns would be less busy. Ci had finals, and I had to keep unpacking!
I was right! Ding! Ding! I walked right in and there were no other patients waiting.
The triage nurse was a little salty at first but once she knew we had a shih Tzu in the car, she suddenly warmed up! Way to go Teddi! I even got an ice pack for my throbbing head.
I saw the Doctor within 15 minutes, a Doctor Stephens and she was what every ER doctor across America should emulate. She was kind, calm, empathetic, and confident in her analysis of my medical issue. trauma, etc. She gave some visual tests, and told me I should be fine but to watch for a few things and she would check on me tomorrow… Huh? Really? You will? Uh huh… We were in and out within one hour. Pretty Dang Good St Johns!!!
Well Guess What… Dr. Stephens told me she would call to see how I was the next day and SHE DID!!! SHE DID what she said she was going to do!!! That is so huge to me in this day and age when so many people say they are going to do something, but then never do. Hats off to you Dr. Dana Stephens! I hope I don’t have to go to the ER again anytime soon, but if I do, I will be hoofing it out to St. Johns again!
