I haven’t had to buy anything big-​ticket at this NOW Bikes yet, but I certainly will shop there first when it does come time to buy a new bike. They treat me as if I were a regular customer even though I’m just a regular group-​ride-​attendee — for example, finding me a pair of bottom-​dollar clearance shoes and installing SPD pedals while I changed up for a ride at which I had left my shoes at home, and waiving fees I hadn’t thrown enough cash at them to cover so I could get out to the ride on time. Or helping me use a coupon in some creative ways to spread out savings over many small purchases. I’ve never gotten anything but considerate service from the folks at both NOW bikes. They keep staff around a long time, and you can tell they take pride in their jobs.

Got a new tire and tube, and had it installed here. Bike mechanic gave me a quoted price of $ 25 and when I went to pay it was $ 38. Watch out for hidden labor charges.

Purchased break pads for my wife’s bike. The mechanic offered to install them, which involved tightening few screws with an Allen wrench. While I’m glad the install was quick, but I was surprised to have been charged $ 20 for a 5 minute install on a $ 7 item. My oil changes cost less.
