I had a small brake problem, but it needed attention to prevent further damage. They fixed it efficiently at a very reasonable price. They’re busy, so you might have to wait a few days, but I expect they’ll to well for you.

Professional, thorough and efficient. I had a few things that needed to be looked at, dropped off my car in the morning and it was done and waiting for me when I got off work. Nick provided me with excellent customer service and my car is running great. I definitely recommend this place!

I’ve had work done there and Jake is definitely the best mechanic I’ve ever had for a small hometown shop. He is not one to try to upsell parts like the chains, but honest as a friend working on your car. I really appreciate lucking out having such an honest mech. So close to me, I almost don’t wanna tell anyone but there’s a reason he has repeat business, it boils down to friendliness, and honest integrity. I really do trust his word. I told him I would be getting rid of my car, he said something he’d recommend fixing if I wanted to keep it, otherwise, let the dealership handle it, but it still could be driven without immediate urgent replacement. Not something the chains will ever say, they will make rebuild your car to showroom floor new just to make a buck, avoid them, go visit Jake, or don’t, I’ll have less competition fighting off other customers.

I called on a Wednesday night to make an appt for my brakes on Thursday. Service was affordable, convenient, and thorough. I would highly recommend this small town shop.

–DISHONEST MECHANIC– Charged me twice as much as was necessary to fix rear wheel bearing. Lied and said part only comes in pairs. I spoke with another mechanic later that showed me that the part is available for both wheels separately. A $ 250 job needlessly became $ 475. He also gave me a quote to fix several things on my car including the engine mount and brakes (rotors and pads in the front and shoes in the rear). The quote came out to around $ 1600. I ended up getting it done in Red Wing for $ 700. This guy is nice to your face, but is a liar that will rip you off in a heartbeat. Don’t let friendly customer service fool you into paying double.

They are really very genuine, generous and skilled mechanics and won’t guide you to spend unnecessarily unless required.

Jake is the owner. There are a few critical people you need to know in your life: A smart attorney, a forgiving priest, and an excellent mechanic. If you need the last one, then definitely go to North St Paul Auto near Hwy 36 and 120.
Jake and his staff has worked on all the cars in my family, they take their time to give the right diagnosis, explain the options, and then give you their recommendation which has always been right on. We’ve been taking our cars to him since he started the place a few years ago and we’d never go anywhere else.
If you need your car towed there, call them and they’ll connect you with a tow that’ll bring your car right to them.
They’ve had other glowing reviews on other feedback websites but I didn’t see them on Unilocal and I had to correct that because they are WELL worth the drive no matter where you live in the Twin Cities.
