3 to average out the great experiences and the awful… I used to order from here all the time and always enjoyed their food. If you’re looking for American-Chinese delivery that tastes good, they’ve got you covered. But I had always ordered veggie items… and the first time I ordered chicken I got horrific food poisoning. It’s been a couple of months and I’m still trying to decide if I want to give it another shot. Maybe I’ll go back to the veggies.

Haven’t had any complaints in the past, foods always hot and delicious and is delivered quickly. Tonight was completely opposite. Took an hour to be delivered, if not longer. Food was cold, and there was some odd inedible parts in the chicken.

After ordering online many times, I found myself a block from New Asian’s restaurant one evening and stopped in. Service was fast and friendly. The décor was — I don’t know if I can say this — adorably stereotypical? It’s nothing fancy, but there are cute red vinyl booths, and they even have arcade games to play while you wait! After a quick round of Pacman, my takeout was ready to go(not TOO quick, mind, I’m pretty good at Pacman if I do say so myself). With either takeout or delivery, the food is always piping hot and delicious. The General Tso’s Chicken is always the perfect combination of saucy and crispy, spicy and sweet. The food is well-packaged so there are no spills during transit, and a dinner combo is usually enough for me to have dinner and save some for lunch the next day. I wish there was some way for me to have my credit card on file with them because I have to read it over the phone every time I order online, but I understand storing credit card info is tricky with all the privacy regulations, and this tiny lack of convenience is totally made up for by the best quality Chinese takeout I have had in the Twin Cities. Last but not least, they deliver on holidays. This was fantastic because last Christmas Eve was the first time in several years I’ve been away from my family and missed out on our Chinese takeout tradition. New Asian definitely helped me get in the holiday spirit!

I literally created a Unilocal account to give this place a great review! I have ordered delivery from New Asia probably about two dozen times and it has been SPECTACULAR every time! It is consistently delicious, the delivery is always faster than expected, portion sizes are HUGE, and it’s cheap to boot! They usually predict roughly 45 minutes for delivery(I live at the very edge of their delivery zone – maybe 3 – 4 miles away), but I’ve never had it take longer than 40… ever at 7:00 on a Saturday evening. I’ve even started timing them because it amazes me how fast they are. I ordered tonight and they said 45 minutes to 1 hour, and showed up in 31 minutes. RECOMMENDATIONS(**Overall note: their food is consistently«light», never greasy or overly heavy): **Moo shu: AMAZING! I crave their moo shu and have been ordering it once a week for a month now. It’s amazing and the best I’ve ever had. **Egg foo young: So great. It’s the very best I’ve ever had anywhere. **Lo mein: the only lo mein I will eat, because it has zero grease, unlike many places which have very greasy lo mein. **Coconut chicken: So delicious! I’ll be honest, it does not taste like coconut at all… and I really have no idea what sort of sauce it has on it(it’s a sweet white sauce, but not coconuty), but man is it ever delicious! **Chicken almond ding: I have never particularly cared for chicken almond ding, but theirs is delicious. ORDERWITHCAUTION: **Sesame chicken: Either really good or just sort of… meh. It’s never bad, though. However, this is the one dish(amongst many other chicken dishes I’ve had and order regularly), that has twice had over-cooked chicken. It’s Americanized sesame chicken… perfect if that’s what your looking for, not so great if you want something more authentic. NOTWORTHIT: **Egg rolls: Not bad, by any means, but just not worth it. They seem like egg rolls you could get in the frozen foods aisle of a grocery store.(That said, I have a friend who thinks the egg rolls from New Asia are the best on the planet… so to each their own, I guess. **Crab rangoon: Ditto what I said about the egg rolls, minus the friend who thinks they’re great.

Review for Delivery Only: I was quite sick a few days ago and decided to get some Chinese delivery since I didn’t want to leave the house, in my experience Chinese delivery is always wishful thinking, its always sub par and cold when you get it. But I was really taken back by the prompt service and quality of the food. I ordered the General Tsao, Hot n Sour soup, and Cream Cheese Puffs, all for $ 15 bucks delivered they also threw in some great fried rice and a tasty Egg Roll. It didn’t cure my cold, but it sure as hell filled me up, didn’t make me feel sick, and got here in a reasonable amount of time for a Friday Night. Going to be my Go-to for Chinese food Delivery from now on in St Paul.

Horrible! Ordered sesame chicken and cream cheese wontons fir lunch. Chicken was bone dry inside and out. Overlooked. Cream cheese are a tiny bit of cream cheese with the rest being wonton. Weird to eat! I guess for waiting just shy of an hour, it was definitely not worth my time or $ 12.

The Hunan shrimp and the veggie fried rice were very good. The egg drop soup was as well but needed to be hotter. The sweet and sour chicken was more like sweet chicken, no sour element to be found. Service was fast and friendly. Good fast Chinese food and a huge menu with choices to make most happy. We will be back.

Was convinced this would be a solid choice for American-style Chinese takeway, but it was a serious disappointment. Ordered the General Tso’s Chicken and Orange Chicken dinners, Shrimp Toast and Won Ton soup — the chicken tasted exactly the same in both containers. The description on the orange chicken promised orange peels, but there was not even an essence of orange. The egg rolls and shrimp toast were gross and tasted of old oil, the chicken fried rice offered flavorless slices of chicken seemingly added as an after-thought. Lo-mein was basic and uninteresting. Yes, this place is not terribly expensive — but for a $ 23 tab, we expected something better than microwaved. Would not order again.

It’s OK– if you absolutely HAVE to have Chinese and need it delivered. I just finished some of it and this is the first time I’ve thrown out cream cheese puffs. They have an odd aftertaste that makes me think the oil was pretty dirty, the breading is heavy-handed and way too dense. Ditto for the steamed pork dumplings; they have a bland filling and the wrapper is so thick that you won’t even notice the filling. It was literally as thick and chewy as a rigatoni noodle. They all look perfectly cloned too, so I’m guessing they are NOT made in-house. Shame on me– I thought the exact same thing last time, but forgot until I ate one today. Everything else I’ve tried here has been passable, but on the boring side. The General Tso wings are labeled as spicy, but they’re not. The crab Rangoon tastes amazingly similar to the cream cheese puffs, and I detected almost zero crab flavor. For seafood lovers, I’d stick with the shrimp only; it’s large and was cooked well(in an underwhelming sauce). Their scallops are the«bay» variety(tiny) and are mushy and flavorless. Also, they use imitation crab meat, but of course the menu just lists«crab». There’s a reason that nothing on the menu is over $ 12, no matter how much«seafood» is in it… Anyone who’s says this place is amazing either works there or has never tried Chinese food anywhere else. Don’t believe the hype– this place is truly mediocre on its best day. I believe their delivery service is the only reason they’re surviving, and with Bite Squad on the scene, I think their days are numbered.

Don’t Buy! Worst take out experience I’ve ever had. I’ve ordered from New Asia before and only negative comment I could say was there was dry rice and not so friendly customer service. Everything else was good. First I get RARE chicken wings, then when I call, they refuse to give me a refund because I called the next day… mind you I got the food at closing so even if I discovered the rare chicken immediately… the establishment would be closed. Oh and btw, the rice was dry and crunchy. The only positive thing I would say is I liked the fortune cookies.

For Chinese delivery, New Asia Express is FANTASTIC! They are our #1 go-to restaurant for ordering in. They even came to us when it was –40 degrees! They have come to us in a snowstorm, they come no matter what! Plus, their food is perfect perfect each time. I saw where someone’s review complained that their food arrived with the temperature of the food being too HOT. Really, people??? How in the world do you default a delivery for that??? We like that they have all the indulgent-fried foods for your cravings, and all the steamed and healthy foods for your diet. Win-win! I can’t eat enough of their vegetable lo mein… Ohhhhh man… If you have little kids, they even have kids meals on the menu. :) I have never been inside their restaurant, just ordered delivery.

I recently attempted to order online but was having trouble getting the site to accept my credit card. I eventually gave up, and figured the order never went through, since New Asia ALWAYS calls to confirm a successful online order. When my bank statement came weeks later, I learned that I had in fact been charged, but no food was ever delivered. I would now advise to steer clear of the online ordering process.
