I used to love this place. They are now closed. A For Sale sign is in front of the empty greenhouses

I found the prices vs the quality at Linders’s outrageous. They may have severely upped the prices to mark down 50%. We could not believe the original price they claimed on foreign factory made decorations. I mean $ 52.88 for a cheaply made ugly paper doll. $ 42.00 for two feathers. Some of the items were no more than K-Mart quality. No wonder business has dropped off for them. Good Bye Baby, you were the best attraction in the place.

Love this Greenhouse. Top quality plants, good sale prices. Helpful staff. Wonderful accessories should you need to buy a gift. Love hitting up the flower-marts mid summer for killer clearance prices.

Hi Baby. No, not you. I’m talking to Baby the resident parrot at this location. He is a friendly orange wing amazon. Besides the parrot, Linders is a huge greenhouse with all manner of things to beautify your landscape. They had planters even I would fit into. They also have all sorts of seeds and bulbs so you can prep for spring. And they haven;t forgotten the other birds. Feeders and seed abound here so you can feed the birds you like.

Linder’s is a great LOCAL establishment, and also very convenient with their flower marts all over the metro area during the spring and summer! Because they are local their plants grow better because they are accustom to the the climate, where as big box stores ship their product in from warmer climate states and the plants go through some shock. Also, another great thing is that they are working to help teach their customers new things. I’ve heard that this summer they are working on a lot of urban gardening ideas! ~ perfect for me because I living in a town home where I cannot plant in the ground! Another tip, the main store in St. Paul is a great and cheap winter getaway! It feels like summer all year round because of the warmth and pretty flowers!

Pretty much everything you could ever need for your garden in one place. Knowledgeable staff, guarantee on perennials, and early«cheater» tomato plants! I was quite impressed with their selection of Seed Savers seeds. I got a few wacky heirlooms of various veggies, like Rat Tail Radishes, that I’d never heard of before. I have a thing about growing the oddball varieties. I took 1-star off because the register area is a disaster zone. Even if you are just buying a pack of seeds, it seems like your check out time(not waiting in line, just your transaction) takes 5 minutes.

My husband and I go to Linders every year for at least some of our plants. The staff is alwasy knowledgeable and helpful, and Linders always has some sort of sale going on. Yesterday they had 20% off all vegetables. I also really like that they will take back perrenials that don’t grow back the next year. The will only do this one time per plant and you need to make sure you save your receipt and the tag that comes with the plant. This saves a little stress, especially if you are buying more expensive plants and trees.

If you’re looking for something, you’ll likely find it at Linder’s. They have greenhouse upon greenhouse of annuals and perennials, a HUGE selection of houseplants compared to other garden centers, and a parrot named«Baby». I’m not sure what the parrot has to do with anything(you can watch him on webcam via their site, if you’re the parrot-voyeur type), but that’s pretty cool, no? A lot of their plants are grown locally – or, at least, the ones that matter are.(Hint: If you’re in Minnesota, buy perennials and shrubs and trees that were grown in Minnesota. The origin of annuals doesn’t matter nearly as much.) They certainly grow a high percentage of plants themselves(including the famous roses and a lot of different perennial varieties) but some of the shrubs are from Bailey’s Nursery right down the road – the tags will state where it’s grown. The best thing about Linder’s? Small plants. Not that the plants are small, but you can get a huge variety of quart-sized perennials(that are cheaper than the gallon size, of course). This saves you money and by next year you won’t know the difference anyway. They also have a special section of MN-native perennials, if that’s your thing. They’re more expensive than the box stores, to be sure, but the plant quality, variety and the whole experience is definitely worth the few extra pennies.

With Spring coming(it’ll come eventually, I promise), our attention turns to decorating our gardens. And if you’re looking for any kind of plant, the place to go is Linder’s. They have huge greeenhouses in St. Paul, but you can also visit one of their many flower marts in parking lots around the city. If you’ve ever been to their main store in St. Paul, you’ll remember the vast acreage of greenhouses. They grow everything themselves and ship a lot of their inventory around the country. Take a tour in the summer if you want to know how they do it. It’s really amazing. The Linder’s family has been in business for almost 100 years, so they know plants. Their employees are knowledgable and if you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask. They even have a 2 year guarantee on all the plants they sell. There are some restrictions, of course, but if you do what you’re supposed to, they’ll replace it if it dies within two years. They also have some cool festivals and family days throughout the year. It gets crazy at their St. Paul location during those times, but they make it fun for the entire family. If you need something for your garden, go to Linders.
