The service is always great, nice atmosphere and delicious food! The filet served with potatoes and asparagus was wonderful — especially considering I am not a fan of asparagus. The chef certainly knows how to prepare it as I truly enjoyed it. I started with the Maytag Blue Cheese salad, which honestly, I could have probably had a larger portion size of the salad for my meal, it was that good!

Excellent service. The atmosphere was nice. Pricing was good. I started with the crab cakes they were so good. The bread they give is so amazing too. I had the prime rib. Very delicious. So far the best place I have eaten in St. Paul so far.

From the phone call for our reservation to the«Happy 12th Anniversary» written on our receipt; this place has awesome service! Even though it was a Friday night; our drinks & meals were brought out in a timely manner. My new favorite drink is the raspberry mojito! My husband had the prime rib! Perfection! I’m glad he shared with me. I had the scallops that were on special; again; perfection! Our waitress brought us crème brûlée with fruit for our anniversary(complimentary) dessert. It was the BEST I have ever tasted. We drove from WI& this place is worth the drive. Enjoy!

The lobster bisque is amazing. The atmosphere is very nice. Those are the best things I can say about Kincaid’s. The meat entrees are generally good. But the seafood entrees have NOT been good lately. They taste and smell very fishy. Service in the bar is slow, but a nice bar area.

While in town for business, colleagues recommended the Lavender Cosmo so we went for drinks and appetizers. The Cosmo was good, but Cosmos are not necessarily my drink of choice. Appetizers were good, especially the Brie.

Originally we came for dinner(best sirloin ever) and we came back for the raspberry mojitos. First time in my life a drink has tasted exactly like I wanted. Consistently great experience here, knowledgable wait staff and great service.

Kincaid’s is never a disappointment! I had the Seafood Louie Salad and was very pleased. Such a combination of flavors, I was satisfied but not stuffed. I left feeling assured that I made the right dinner selection. The waitress was very pleasant and paid close attention to our table. Kincaid’s is always a «pleaser!»

Marvelous dinner tonight, along with great service. Highly recommend Kincaid’s downtown St Paul for that special evening of dining. My scallops were delicious and my husband’s paella perfect. Wine a perfect compliment to our dinner. Parking validated if parked at Lawson Commons ramp as well.

Kincaids is a staple in Mpls/St. Paul, however even during one of the busiest weekends, the state high school hockey tournament, I was able to get a last minute reservation at prime time which tells us: 1) it’s not as popular as it was once, or 2) there are just more options in StP with the emergence of Lowertown and new restaurants popping up on Selby and Payne Avenue. Nevertheless, we took our niece to Kincaid’s and the food was good, as was the service. Given the price, I could have had multiple meals at Revival or a very good dinner at Manny’s. It had been several years(about 10) since I last visited Kincaid’s and I suspect it will be another 10 before I’m back …

Recently went there for the lobster tail and was disappointed. It was overly seasoned and the drawn butter was terribly salty. Won’t be going back for lobster. otherwise it appears to be a nice, reasonably-priced restaurant in the heart of downtown St. Paul. The table service was excellent.

The room had a great atmosphere for dining. The food was enjoyed by everyone in our group, what was not pleasant was the service. Our server messed up at least 1 thing from every order she took. For the price of the meal the service was terrible.

I mistakenly posted this to Saint Paul. Apologies. It should have been Bloomington. When I lived in Bloomington 17 years ago Kincaids was a destination Resturant. Steaks were outstanding, the décor unique. I was sad to return and find a blah décor and the unique bar modified to a plain brown room with a simple giant mirror and some black and white photographs. The menu was no longer unique, in fact it was nearly the exact menu used by Stanley and Seaforts in Tacoma WA right down to the typeface. I had the maytag salad and it is exactly the same as Stanley’s. Alas Kincaids is just another corporate box. The service was outstanding, Jordan was very attentive and even as the bar began to fill, we never felt rushed. He was knowledgable of the menu, the wine list and beer list. Jordan kept this review at a three all by himself. I had a filet. It was bland, tough and flavorless. When I drop $ 45 on a small filet I shouldn’t have to carve on it with my steak knife.(Think Longhorn Steakhouse) The smoked mushrooms had promise but were not fully cooked. The asparagus was fresh but again was not fully cooked. The Yukon potatoes were perfect. Desert was key lime pie, nothing special but the little thimble of lemon ice was terrific. Bottom line $ 200 for appetizer, 2 dinners, one dessert, 3 beers and a glass of wine. Fair price for a great meal. This wasn’t a great meal.. . Thanks for making it a good night anyway Jordan.

Have had good experiences before with the food. Unfortunately made a reservation for before a concert and got the bait and switch menu. Just went to the website again and no mention of this just to make a reservation. Was hoping for a burger which is often good — nothing too complicated right? Nope. A bare bones menu for Valentines Day to increase profit and get em in and get em out. Buyer beware menu online may not exist when you go. Left and got into the bar area of Pazzaluna where they do have a menu that was the regular one. More than one dessert too! Very much a let down and wont make the same mistake twice. Past experiences were great here, but I hate being fooled. Im not a talk to the manager guy and maybe they could have done it for me, but not worth the hassle.

Our waitress was very helpful, hospitable, and comforting for someone who used to live in the Midwest and has been out West for the last decade. The food was so freakin’ scrumptious! And i could believe that one of my favorite restaurants(ClinkerDagger) in Spokane was one of their sister restaurants. I was amazed at the level of service when my mother and i walked there from our hotel and the hostess drew us a map of how to get back to our hotel through a sky way system instead of heading back out into the cold :) 10 out of 10 Kindcaid’s

I am giving Kincaid’s only 3 stars based only on my experience at the bar on 1-16-2016 I have eating there many times for business lunches and have always had a great lunch. On Saturday, January 17th. My girlfriend stopped in after our dinner for an Old Fashioned, a drink I have had there previously. We walked in we were the only two people in the bar, we sat down and the bartender took our order and set down our drinks. I took my first sip, not as good as the last time I was in there, but was not too bad. The bad comes with the bartender, we are«Belly up at the Bar» type of people, usually the bartender will engage the customers our bartender said nothing to us in fact seemed like she was trying to ignore us. It was not until the end, my girlfriend was using the restroom and I wanted to settle up did she engage me and ask what our plans were for the evening, her and I shared a couple of laughs and that was it, I just wish she would have engaged us earlier to make us feel more welcome.

Delicious. The servers make you feel like royalty! We took a chance knowing we would be spending some money on our nice dinner, but holy crap it was worth it. The seafood is very fresh, and the drinks are fun! I just wish it wasn’t so expensive… I would come here more often if it didn’t cost so much!

Had dinner with client. Arrived 25 minutes early and requested to be seated earlier than reservation at 5:45. Hostess said should be able to get us in sooner. Place was only third full and hosted made us wait in the front entry way until my reservation time anyways. I requested seat by the window and was told when being seated sorry the windows seat all are seated. For a finer restaurant it was not very nice to make me stand like that with my dinner client. I ordered a sirloin steak which was not on the menu. The steak was at best average. Not very juicy guessing came out of the freezer. Potatoes were cold like the had not been heated up. There are much better steak places for the money, Mancini’s by far for steak is less expensive and by far superior steak. Should have gone to he St. Paul grill or Mancini’s. Very expensive for what they serve. Server was very good. Wont be back.

Hi At Kincaid’s tonight 12.21.15. Mahi mahi was overdone by a long shot. With another couple from my husband’s work. Service was decent but waitron«forgot» a couple items. On a side note, after being in ten metropolitan cities this year, Minnesota needs to pick up the pace in regards to friendliness and hospitality… Waiter checking his phone and leaning against the wall at 6:45 pm, when I walked to the Ladiies’ Room, after stating we were on a tight schedule. The suspended coffered ceilings are intersting. The hostesses were sweet. Hmmm… 3.1 stars. The booth was 5% cramped.

Great service provided by our pretty, nice and bubbly waitress Emily! She was as cute as a little button. I will definitely come back and request her as our server. The restaurant is upscale with reasonable prices. I ordered the beef tips and Miss Emily suggested that I add a side of mashed potatoes and I must say, they were magnificent. Mmm Mmm good. I can’t believe the prices of their happy hour, they are such a good deal! I even had leftovers. Ciao!

I’ve been to Kincaid’s many times. Keep forgetting to write a review. So here goes a brief one to say that Kincaid’s is an excellent urban restaurant. Great location. Excellent menu always. Been here for lunch, dinners, special occasions and just sitting at the bar. It is all good. The atmosphere is classy. The service is attentive and waitstaff is knowledgeable. I’ll try to remember to check in from here more often if only to finally become«a regular.»

One visit is not enough to really lock in a review but at their prices one should expect much better than our foursome received. My sirloin was tough, our scalloped potatoes not cooked enough. My partners scallops were not warm, almost room temp. Our client ordered prime rib med and its was very rare and had to be sent back. Our wait person was very new and should have spotted the bloody prime rib immediately and not brought it to the table. Everyone’s side dishes sounded creative and intriguing yet tasted like they’d been leftovers that had been re-heated?. I will try it again as overall reviews seemed quite good and perhaps we caught them at their worst. But I will not bring important clients this time.

On the spur of the moment I tried this place for lunch. The menu offered interesting choices of salads, sandwiches, etc. I ordered the half crab sandwich and soup. The sandwich portion was a very small ½ of an English muffin, A teaspoon of crab spread very thin and a thin slice of tomato. The sandwich was lukewarm as was the small cup of butternut squash soup and fries. I was very disappointed to pay a lot for such a mediocre lunch. The tiny portions alone are outrageous. I may give Kincaid’s one more try for happy hour if I am in the area otherwise, I will definitely pass on lunch or dinner in the future.

I had a business lunch here and so did not have to pay. So I am not sure of the prices. I think about what you would expect for a nice downtown lunch. I had the Blackened Cod Jambalaya– Blackening seasoning spicy jambalaya andouille sausage greens and favs beans. Arnold Palmer — full glass. They did not skimp on the serving. All very good and good service.

Will behind the bar = perfection. I’ve had many a bad cocktail, but never at Kincaid’s with Will behind the bar. He’s got skills and excellent customer service. I’d go back here any day of the week and twice on Tuesday. Would I go out of my way for an exceptional bartender that knows how to properly mix drinks? Yes. Every single time.

We have stopped in here a few times lately for a cocktail and while service is usually good they make lousy cocktails. Very stingy with the booze. When I pay over $ 10.00 for a drink, don’t use so much mix that I need a swig of water to gag it down. My advice would be stick to wine or beer and head to the St. Paul Grill for a good cocktail.

Kindcaid’s is wedding anniversary(or marriage proposal) expensive, but it may be the best place to get really good seafood in the Twin Cities that DOES cost an arm and a leg. I’ve never been able to afford dinner here, but I have come here often for happy hour food, and I’ve never been disappointed by oysters rockafeller or oysters on the half-shell.

I went here on the recommendation of a client while in St. Paul for work. Service was generally good, but I will say that it took at least 10 minutes for the server to first approach us. That’s a little long and I got the impression that he may have been a little overworked. After that, service was impeccable. I had the grand scratch margarita. It was good — nice and strong. Then I ordered the vegetable soup, which was delicious. The entrée was the copper river salmon. It was good and came with well cooked asparagus and mashed potatoes. I would go back here, although it is expensive. Cocktails are $ 10 – 12 and entrees are $ 30 – 40.

Every downtown seems to have a place where the up-and-comings go to see-and-be-seen. For Saint Paul, that place seems to be it. As the city makes its triumphant resurgence, the center of gravity may shift to Lowertown, but for now, this is it. Most people think of Kincaid’s as a place reserved for bigwigs with expense accounts, and that’s certainly still true, but did you know about the happy hour specials? You might be the only one who doesn’t because, come 5:00, the place is packed with professional types and people waiting to see a show a block over at the Ordway or a game at the Xcel Center. Their happy hour is pretty darn good. The cheeseburger is amazing and priced to move. Other items are listed at good prices for a swanky downtown spot, but not astounding. I would definitely recommend coming with a friend or two who can help you scout out a table or barstool while you hover over the guy who’s taking way too long to pay his check. That’s the one downfall – it’s a restaurant first and a social space second. That said, if you need to meet up with some friends or colleagues, you won’t be disappointed.

Is steakhouse my thing? Yes. Would I be excited to try Kincaid? Yes. Why? Because some of my friends really raved about it. I have been enjoying exploring more of St. Paul. I just haven’t spent that much time there nor trying out restaurant on that side of the Mississippi. Turned out, St. Paul has some neat restaurants! I never thought Kincaid was that fancy. In my head, I was picturing an older supper club like Jensen’s. However, this Kincaid looked modern and brand new. It was nothing as how I expected at all. Really, it was like an online dating. The picture wasn’t all that great but the personality seemed good and interesting. When you met in person, Kincaid was surprisingly handsome. Oh, goodie. Let’s get this date started! I wasn’t that hungry so I wanted a lighter fare. I ordered wedge salad and French Onion soup. The salad was a wedge salad — nothing else to say. The soup was super sweet I had to return it. There were ribs, rigatoni with sausage, and short ribs ravioli on the table. They were pretty good. The ribs were tender. The rigatoni was really nice. I saw the filet my friend ordered, and it looked good but small for the price. The drinks were good too. Lavender Martini was great. Moscow mule was too strong for me. We ordered some desserts: bread pudding, blueberry cobbler, and crème brulée. All yummy! My check was a ton for what I had. I was a bit surprised. Yeah, I didn’t order a steak so I feel that have to come back and try. However, for the price and that it’s kind of middle of the road steak house, not sure I would. It was just okay for me. Tried everything I needed to try in small amount mooching off friends’ plates and at the end I think the date went stale or just okay. This one I may not call or just keep as once in a while friend.

I highly recommend this place. The food is great, it’s located downtown St. Paul, and it’s not as expensive as I thought it would be. The entrees average about $ 20-$ 40. I ordered the seafood etoufee which contained shrimp, scallops, mussels, and sausage. All the seafood was top notch and cooked to perfection. The sausage was spicy and the broth was really good too. There were cheese grits and some greens on the side. The grits were good, but the greens were not my favorite. They give you some really good buttered bread on the side too. The wine I had was great as well. Also, the staff: top-notch! Just make sure not to go without a reservation especially if there’s a Wild game.

Alright, this is the review that I have been waiting since October 19th to write. The reason for me wanting to write this is because I had planned this to be a special occasion that was going to be fantastic. (I actually saved the receipt for this so I can tell you all exactly what I ordered, what the price was and the final total.) So the story begins here, I planned to take my partner out for his golden birthday; this was his 19th. I wanted to take him somewhere nice where he could experience fine dining and we could actually spend some time together alone.(I have been pretty occupied with school and courses and I thought I might as well as make it special.) I wasn’t sure where their front door was, which was a bit awkward and I ended up walking through the bar to the reception desk. I had made reservations because… Well I wanted things to be perfect damnit. Our reservations were met, and they actually had a coat check which was nice. I checked in my coat, and forgot that my phone was in there… So I do apologize ahead of time for my mistake; I was unable to take pictures of the food. My partner and I were pretty hungry from the start, and I decided that we should order some appetizers. We ordered the Tenderloin Teriyaki $ 13.95 for him and the Fresh Smoked Salmon $ 9.95. I then noticed that there was a little something in my water glass. It didn’t really bother me much because there has been worse that I have drank from.(Think third world country…) but one of the mangers noticed that I was picking something off and offered to replace my cup. I saw this to be very courteous and respectful especially because I am paying for what they are giving me in terms of the scene and the food. When the appetizers finally came out they looked great! The Salmon looked amazing, and it came with a side of freshly made chips and pickles. The Tenderloins came on a bed of rice and other items. I really like the Salmon and actually used the chips as like a spoon to scoop the salmon up and feed it to myself. The pickles were meh. I could pass on those. The tenderloins were juicy and chewy. I loved both of the dishes. After this was taken away and we had finished, I ordered the Lobster Bisque soup initially for myself, but it came for the both of us. Which I guess made sense since it was $ 9.95. One reason that I ordered this over the French Onion was because most reviews were raving about this soup. Also, its because my partner didn’t want me to eat the French Onion; for obvious reasons. Now, with this soup… I as kind of disappointed. It has been kind of overblown on Unilocal. This maybe due to different tastes. But this was VERYCREAMY. And I didn’t actually taste too much lobster like items. The overpowering sour cream really did it to overpower the small bits of lobster in it. My partner really didn’t like it so I ended up eating his as well. Now for the main dishes, my partner ate the Rock Salt Roasted Prime rib, and ordered the regular cut. I ordered the Seafood Etoufee, and subbed the cheese grits for mashed potatoes,(by suggestion of the waiter). I was a bit confused at the soupy like nature of the Seafood Etoufee but I guess I should have looked up what Etoufee meant. I am honestly thankful to the waiter for recommending that I sub the cheese grits for the mashed potatoes because that is what I ate the most of. The clams and other bits of seafood that this came was was alright. Kind of mediocre honestly. And one of the clams didn’t even have meat in it; which was disappointing because come on, I am paying $ 29.95 for this! The shrimps were so whimpy as well… I could have gone to a bar and ordered a shrimp cocktail and I would probably get the same quality. As for my partners dish, it looked alright. He decided to have it with mashed potatoes because I enjoy them myself, and he wanted to share. He enjoyed most o f the prime rib. Up to the point where about 1⁄6 was bones. And another 1⁄6 was fat. Then there was a large portion that was so ridiculously salty… It was unbearable to eat. Therefore, only about ½ of the prime rib was eaten. The au jus that came with the prime rib was nasty though. Really nutty and didn’t taste like it belonged with the stake. Now. I know that this was Rock Salt Prime Rib. But It was REALLYSALTY. Like… Salter than what some can think of that comes out of some bodily areas. However, we did get a free dessert, which was Crème brûlée. It was really good actually. And it was extremely nice of them to give us a free dessert to celebrate his birthday. Now, our reservations were at 4:00 p.m. But we didn’t finish until about 6:30 p.m. I know that yes, we did technically have a 4 course meal but at the same time… It was a Saturday and they were not that busy at 4:00 p.m. because… Well its a Saturday. There are plenty of other places to eat on Saturdays as well. Our bill came to $ 107.36. Point: Alright food but overpriced.
