I just called this store to inquire about a product and the employee who answered the phone responded to me as if I was interrupting her work and annoying her. Really rude and unnecessary!

I went here on a Monday morning to buy some Velcro. I was in the store for about ten minutes. No employee said a word to me and the place was dead. I sat at the checkout counter for 5 minutes waiting for an employee to ring me up. Again, no one helped me. Terrible service. I’ll never go back.

I emailed my mom(who has been sewing her whole life) and asked why she shops at Hancock. Well, turns out part of the reason is that the Midway Jo-Ann’s closed. Here’s the rest of what she had to say: Really like them because they are a fabric shop not just a craft shop that sells yard goods. The layout of the store is easy to figure out and you don’t have to search for novelty items. The cutting table areas are extra roomy so the customers don’t feel so crowded even if there is a line. The staff actually seem to know about sewing and offer very handy comments on fabric care, pattern handling and layouts. Great bargains can be found in the shopper newsletters that are actually at the store when you get there. Finally, they still display handmade outfits and the original pattern on adult and child size mannequins. One can hardly walk by and not be tempted to say, «How cute, I could do that.»
