I like that they were friendly and fast. I just started needing glasses and they took good care of me. Parking around back. Easy to find location. I also like home feel instead of the corporate box stores.

I recently purchased some glasses from a different vendor that I’ve been very unhappy with. The style I got was all wrong for me and the glass is slightly blurry on the sides. Even though I just spent the money on new glasses, I dislike what I bought enough to want to get a new pair… I had heard that Grand Spectacle had a nice selection so I thought I would give them a shot. Just coming out of Grand Spectacle now. What an awesome experience! So many frames and so much knowledge about eyewear! Everything he said was fascinating and very useful. I even learned about why the glass is blurry on the sides of the pair I have and what they do to ensure that doesn’t happen with the ones they craft. And because they do most of their work in-house, they can customize all kinds of stuff! The new glasses I ordered are so perfect for me. I’m so excited! I recommend this place to anyone seeking a quality experience when shopping for eyewear. Very impressed with service, products, and knowledge of their craft. These folks are obviously very passionate about what they do and for the first time in my life, I am getting a pair of eye glasses that I love! Thank you Grand Spectacle!

This is the first place we have ever gotten glasses that the lenses were right, from the first. Both my husband and I have somewhat complicated prescriptions, and I have a smaller face. As a result, getting the bifocals to line up never happened — until Grand Spectacle. Spend the money and get the custom lenses. You will not regret it. Also, I always have trouble finding frames. Always. The gentleman helping me walked over, picked up a pair, handed it to me — and it was EXACTLY the right pair for me. Wireless, multi-tone bows — perfect. I tried on a few others — came back to that first perfect pair. Also ask to see the magnetic clip-on sunglasses. I wear mine daily, where I was always misplacing my others. Do they support VSP — no. VSP is owned by Luxotica. Watch the 60 Minutes special on Luxotica and then you’ll understand. This is truly an independent eyeglass shop — and we will definitely be repeat customers. (*Note in the comments — Below someone complains about the Spectacle Shoppe — that is NOT Grand Spectacle. This is a family owned, local business.)

I asked if they accept VSP insurance and the respond was VSP has their own cheap brands, if you want cheap glasses then use your insurance. I was a bit shocked about the rudeness and felt awkward. I came in with my 15 year old daughter and she usually has high tolerance for poor service, but she was disgusted by the tone of the guy’s comment.

We had a terrible experience here just today. We live near the establishment. In fact, our properties share an alley. My husband(poor, kind fool) agreed to collect money for the block for the alley plowing. It is a pretty thankless job. The residential folks are wonderful and pay on time. The businesses are spotty– some are wonderfully punctual with payment, others a bit less reliable, but only ONE actually tells you to go to hell in front of children. The Spectacle Shoppe. My husband stopped in for the third time to follow up on whether the owner would be able to pony up $ 25 to pay their fair share to access the alley in winter. On his first visit, he left a flyer explaining the cost breakdown. Five weeks ago, he stopped in again and explained who he was and the owner told him ok but would not commit to whether he would contribute. If you’ve ever been in charge of collecting cash, you know the pain is in the follow up. Anyway, he stopped in a third time today and the owner told him they were too busy.(There were two people in the shop.) My husband is in sales, so this wasn’t his first rodeo. He agreed to wait. The customers left. The owner said they would need to get back to him and Sean said he would just appreciate a verbal because doubling back repeatedly is a hassle. The guy blew his lid. Meanwhile, a family with two kids had entered. He actually told my husband to «Go to hell.» Over $ 25. Classy. I wouldn’t work with them for any price.

I called twice, just curious if they had a certain brand. I spoke with two different gentlemen. The first call the man was just downright unhelpful. The second call, I asked about Ray-Ban eyeglasses. The man treated me like an idiot, telling me Ray-Ban makes sunglasses. I countered that they make a Titanium frame for eyeglasses, and the guy begrudgingly told me they are exclusive to Lenscrafters and another company. TL;DR Treated poorly on the phone by two different people, did not go into the store because of it.

I have been waiting multiple weeks for glasses from these people, and there is always some technical excuse for why the glasses are not yet available – at first it was a lens upgrade that they said was necessary for the condition of my eyes. Then came a series of presumed lab delays, then silence for several days. They are holding on to my $ 400 deposit; I periodically call them to find out what is going on; and no glasses have crossed my path yet. I will soon be setting a deadline: glasses or refund. I wish I had gone practically anywhere else.

I’ve bought two pairs of glasses here and am about to get another, and I’ve had nothing but good experiences. Very helpful staff, no sales pressure, excellent selection(for me, a good span from funky to conservative). Love my titanium Lindbergs: they weigh almost nothing and have stood up to a lot of punishment. Took off one star because glasses are so freaking expensive. But you get what you pay for.

I was really disappointed with this eyeglasses shop. I didn’t find anything great in their selection. The lighting was bad in most places in the shop so it was difficult to see some of their displays of glasses. It would have been even more difficult to try them on and get a good read on how the pair looked. I was expecting more unique and funky designers but their selection leans towards more conventional designs and brands like Kate Spade, Juice Couture, Banana Republic, etc.
