Great food, love that they deliver, only wish they were open later! I also wish there wasn’t a delivery minimum. Otherwise good delivery food!

Ok, I’m serious about athletics, my health, my weight, so it’s a lot for me to admit I even went here. But one evening, the urge got too great, and having heard great things about this place, I went in. The interior itself is nothing special, any other pizza parlor anywhere, but the people and service were great, the beer was cold, and the pizza was fantastic. My thighs can’t handle regular trips here, but if you’re looking for an awesome pizza parlor, look no further.

Davanni’s makes good pizza and hot hoagies for a very reasonable price. I was a part-time grad student at St. Thomas and came here regularly. The hoagie bread is not what anyone would pick in a business opening today, but it’s fine. I think the pizza is a bit underdone, so I order it well-done(which they do without a problem). They are quick, which is great if you have a short lunch break.

Was in town for a wedding, and we were looking for a place to hang in-between the wedding and reception. Davanni’s was down the street so we stopped in. My group and I shared a salad, some bread sticks and a turkey sandwich. Everything was good. The salad was remarkably fresh, and we loved the bread sticks. They even have beer. Not a huge selection, but good enough. At least we were able to start the party before the reception. I didn’t see a whole lot of other options close, so this is a good neighborhood choice.

Great neighborhood restaurant. I can walk to hwre from my house by UST. Pizza is always excellent. Salads are delicious. Hoagies are very good. Online ordering has the advantage of customizing your order. Really impressed!

Pizza and hoagies that are just fine. Not awesome, not sucky, just fine. The delivery minimum is just greater than the cost of a medium cheese pizza, forcing add ons. My head says this last detail mandates a 2 star rating. My heart reminds me that Davanni’s does a lot of community focused fund raising, so 3 stars it is. «It’s just my opinion, man.»

Try the pink sauce with a deep dish pizza! Awesome sauce.

I think I gain 5 pounds every time I eat here, but it’s worth it. The hoagie buns are generously brushed with butter, and the pizzas glisten with grease. Not recommended for anyone on a diet.

This place was a source of continuing sustenance when I was in college, and I still make my way back here every now and then for old time’s sake. Good location with a parking lot(easily filled, though) and coffee next door if you’re in the mood for it. Food is affordable and good enough, although it’s not my FAVORITE pizza in the TC area. Staffed and frequented by mostly college kids(in my experience). Want something on a Friday or Saturday night? Call ahead for take-away — best way to skip the large wait. Good stuff, and in my opinion, their best location.

Great customer service at the counter. Online ordering a big plus with the ability to customize your orders. I am a big fan of online ordering and not having to hold while they are busy or become busy. Hot hoagies that satisfied my hunger and they are reasonably priced. I’m usually not a fan of hot hoagies, but Davanni’s has a good selection. I like the sauce that they put on their hoagies especially the salami hoagie. Mine was terrific! This is the closest location to our home. I will be back to this location!

Not a super atmosphere if you are looking for someplace to sit down, but this is a favorite spot for take out or delivery because it’s close and usually pretty quick. The pizza is above average but can be a tad greasy for some and a bit spendy, but the hot hoagies hit the spot anytime for me. The Turkey Bacon Chipotle hoagie is my personal favorite. Overall, I don’t have anything bad to say. Definitely worth a visit if you live nearby.

I have never really understood why people like Davanni’s so much. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m just not feelin’ their food at all… –Their pizza… bleh, nothing special, kind of bland, the crust is boring and the sauce needs some work –Their pasta… meh, the meatballs are decent, but the sauce is not up to par at all and ruins the whole dish –Their hoagies… blegh, meh, blahhh, plain, boring, not enough flavor. –Their calzones… not bad! Not the very best calzone I’ve ever had, but they’re tasty. The one thing I would recommend on their menu, but it does take a long time to bake(not a bad thing, but just a warning if you are in a rush) I feel like if there was better pizza in the area, or in walkable distance from the UST campus, Davanni’s wouldn’t be as popular. I mean, personally I’d rather get Pizza Hut, at least their pizza is cheap! Sorry to be so harsh Davanni’s, your service has always been good and I’m a casual fan of your calzones, but your food just isn’t that great, it doesn’t stand out.

I love Davanni’s. That’s all there is to it, their crust is just always so perfect, and their toppings are top notch. My wife and I like to order the Mediterranean, great with white sause. I also am a big fan of just classic sausage/pepperoni. Also, as other reviewers have said, their pop machine is EPIC.

For a group with 7 kids and 4 adults, we had to be quite particular about where to go. l davannis was a perfect choice for big groups with kids. Another bonus– I love their pizzas and hoagies.

Okay, so although this is a chain restaurant, they make delicious delicious pizza. Crispy and doughy crust, cheese cheese cheese, and whatever toppings you can imagine. They have a fairly epic soda machine where you can flavor your soda differently. I’d never seen one of these before and was oddly impressed. Basically, if you’re looking to pig out on some great pizza or subs, I’d recommend going here.

I love the deep dish! This is also a great place even if your not looking for pizza — they have great lasagna and hoagies. Also the staff is fun, and the music is always awesome!

This is my place for pastrami hoagies and«The Works»(garbage pizza). When I say garbage I mean that in the best way possible, basically everything-on-it pizza… now that I am actually thinking about how I have been describing my favorite kind of pizza it is kind of grossing me out(visualizing actual garbage on my pizza). Forgive me, I digress, I normally would have given this particular location a higher rating, as this is my neighborhood joint, but the last time I came here for pizza later that night I felt like someone was pulling a sideways screwdriver through my intestines… not sure if a correctly oriented screwdriver would feel much better… in hind sight perhaps I should not have eaten the one slice of pizza that looked like it had been through Jason Biggs’ personal pie party. Anywho, lived through it to Unilocal another day.

Yup, good pizza, good sandwiches, decent service great place to bring the kids and the price is right. Like another reviewer posted, there is no denying it is good pizza, I am personally just not over the moon for it. I like it, I’m just not CRAZY about it.(I am CRAZY about Eden Pizza.) I’m here pretty frequently using the meeting room with a group or eating with the family, or hitting the joint with a sports team that has just ended their season. And I look forward to coming back.

This is the grandfather Davanni’s of them all and is a bit of a Twin Cities tradition. I worked here for almost 5 yrs back in high school and college. At the time, I always liked the food, the pizza and hoagies and even the salad bar. After I moved away, I made a point of stopping in whenever I was in town. Until recently. On my last trip to St Paul I didn’t even bother cause the previous couple excursions just weren’t that fabulous. I don’t know if the ingredients have changed, or maybe I worked with vastly superior cooks back in the day, but the quality has definitely declined in the past few years. I would go back if someone else suggested it, but I wouldn’t suggest it myself. Many changes have been made since I left this establishment. Changes to the menu as well as a thorough remodel and renovation. Though I believe 2 drivers I worked with are still there(one guy worked there back when it opened and the place was a quarter of the size)! One thing that has not changed: the deep dish pizza. You don’t even want to know how much butter goes into those things, but they are delicious.
