The food is amazing. Waiting over an hour for the food to get delivered, not so much. I would recommend dining in or picking up your food.

Davanni’s is definitely my go-to place when I’m wanting take-out pizza. Both the pizzas and hoagies have a ton of flavor and are super delicious. Davanni’s advertises itself as New York style pizza, and I think they live up to this. I also really love their website as they have their full menu listed and one can find the ingredients and possible allergens that are found in menu items. This has been really helpful for me as I no longer eat dairy or eggs, so I was able to check which menu items didn’t include these and Davanni’s was also able to accommodate me by leaving cheese off my pizzas and other ingredients off of hoagies. I have never had any problems with this service at this location. I would definitely recommend this place any time you’re looking for great pizza and hoagies, whether you’re taking out or eating in. I would describe this location as a neighborhood spot, as a lot of teams and families that live close by seem to eat in here, so this definitely seems to be a kid friendly and casual place.

Upon our arrival service was good. We were greeted right away. They only sell 4 bottles of wine and the guy didn’t know which one was pinot grigio. lol! The food was mediocre at best. There was a hair on a bread stick and since my long locks where pulled back, and he shaves his head, I’m guessing it wasn’t ours. That being said, they were really good bread sticks and came with a delicious sauce. Probably the highlight of the meal. Yes, our highlight came out with hair on it. The salad was sub par. Grocery store bag quality or less. Compared to other pizza places in the area, this deep dish pizza would rank last on flavor. It comes with an Italian seasoning on top and it ruined the pie. Our bill came to a whopping $ 70! We ordered: side salad($ 2.64), 2 bread sticks($ 2.09), 2 hoagies($ 7.09 each), deep dish pizza($ 26), 2 beers($ 4 each), and 2 glasses of wine($ 6 each). The music Davanni’s was playing was really old and the place is very dated, yet they seem to cater to a younger crowd. With a little remodeling this place could be hip and do so much better. If we go back it would be for takeout, delivery or lunch.

There’s no doubt that I qualify as one of Davanni’s biggest fans. I can say this since I’ve grown up with Davanni’s when it used to be called Pontillo’s on Cleveland & Grand and I continue to call them my favorite hoagie & pizza restaurant. Even when I lived out of state, I would always visit Davanni’s straight from the airport — yes, really !! My favorite hoagie is the salami. There is no comparison from any other sandwich shop. The pizza is great, too. Doesn’t matter what crust you order, it’ll be perfect. My only mistake when moving back to the twin cities was not to move within their delivery range. I did consider it though. But in Davanni’s style, they have made deliveries to my house when I made an order for an important event. Thank You Davanni’s !!

Decent pizza, good hoagies and salads. Great place for bringing kids or big groups. Lots of soda options and unique salad dressings.

I was really disappointed in the customer service and the food quality at this Eagan Davanni’s location. I would typically give other Davanni locations 4⁄5 but not this one. I understand going into Davanni’s that you’ll typically wait 25 – 30 min for a pizza. I ordered a Turkey Hoagie & Solo Pizza and it took 40 – 45 min for my order during non peak hours. I asked for an expected time and they would say you’re order is next. The hoagie wasn’t hot because it was sitting on the counter while my solo pizza was being prepared. The couple slices of turkey and mountains of lettuce made the sandwich disappointing. I will continue to go eat at Davanni’s but I will avoid this location.

I live close to Davanni’s and have eaten at different locations through out th metro multiple times, I have NEVER had anything other than a Hot Hoagie. The sandwiches always do the job but really aren’t anything spectacular, usually lots of lettuce, soft warm bread and meat. I normally go with the Pastrami and my fiancé gets the Turkey, mainly cause they are always consistent and we know what we are getting. I honestly feel the pizza is a little over priced and that is probably why we have never ordered it. If you are looking for a decent sandwich and there is a Davanni’s on your radar then it’s not bad eats. Don’t expect a fine Italian dining experience though cause this is not the place.

Local chain. I don’t like chains. Since its local I relent… OK plus I went to davanni’s about 3x a week when I was in college since it was across the street. This location in Eagan(it says st. paul on Unilocal.why?) is OK. I’ve been three times now and I get the same thing everytime, HOAGIE! But my gf got lasagna once and penne noodles twice. My hoagies are awesome every time. I love them. Hoagies are the reason I come to Davanni’s. They aren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they are consistently great. Consistent and great in the same sentence equals I’ll be back. Pizza is good too, though I admit I rarely get it. Beyond Pizza and Hoagies and maybe the garlic cheese bread, I consider the rest of the menu options as avoid. I warned my gf not to get the lasagna. Its microwaved frozen crud. But she got it, and as I thought she didn’t like it. I tried it too as its been years since my last try… it will be years until my next one too. Lasagna = no thanks She also ordered Penne noodles twice. First time with rosa sauce. It was good. Noodles not overcooked. Sauce tasty. Second time… differnt. Rosa sauce again but it was off. Didn’t taste real good and very disappointing. It just reinforces my belief: Pizza, cheesebread, hoagies. That is what Davanni’s does well. The rest. mediocre/inconsistent. I go for hoagies and I leave happy every time. After three strikes for my gf though, looks like my next visit will be solo! D’oh! Oh, they have a pop machine that is on some serious steroids. Gotta check it out, says over 100 variations like orange coke(I believe a mix of fanta and coke). Interesting. I eventually wound up just drinking regular coke lol. cool machine though. Entertained me for a minute.

Got a Hoagie that’s a specialty for them but I’m not too impressed 2 slices of meat hid by a ton of lettuce and under ripe tomatoes not the best attempt at a sandwich my wife got a personal pizza that was OK as far as chain pizza places goes not much to expect, I just hate going to a place looking forward to something that could be good and isn’t

Davanni’s makes a pretty good pizza. I wish they made Spaghetti as well, but not yet apparently. They have good garlic bread. Good sauce, pretty decent deep dish. They have great hoagies as well. Though it’s more like a chain than a franchise, they do not too shabby for a multi-site restaurant. We generally go for a Carbone’s first or, a Cossetta, but Davanni’s has a unique combo of choices, and manages to hold their own against these other professional, and formidable pizza parlors. They do use franchise meats, but on the higher quality side of «franchise» level quality. They generally make the most of what they have. i.e. they put some effort into your meal! We very much appreciate that! Try ‘em on fer size. Can’t imagine you won’t like it!

Hmm. walking by this place will cause you to be hungry. give in to the smell and go for it. Be ready to face a tough decision. Do you want pizza or would you rather go for a hogie? I usually go with a hogie. I will inhale a hogie from Davanni’s in true Joey form. Must be some addictive garlic thing. Pizza and cheesy bread are scrumptious too.
