This was the first experience in deep dish pizza. And it was great! My mom and I came here for the first time so that we didn’t know how to order… after the young lady told us how to create and order our own pizza, we stared thinking which toppings we should add. Then we chose; –middle size pizza with red sauce –pepperoni –hamburger –mushrooms –tomatoes –onions –mozzarella I didn’t order broccolis but they came with my pizza somehow, but it was a good their mistake. Overall, the pizza was good, I prefer spicy so adding red peppers made the pizza far better. I liked the hamburgers and mushrooms. Next time I would definetely add more toppings. We also took small salad, it was ok, we needed some greens but the salad made this restaurant’s rate lower.

I’ve been coming here for over twenty years. Some of the best pizza around and the fab brownies are… fab. My only complaint: the music playing over the ceiling speakers is too loud. So much so that I’m actually forced to dock em a star(oh, the horror).

Wow. Very good pizza. We had it delivered to our hotel room, which didn’t take long. We ordered pepperoni and extra cheese and they didn’t skimp on the cheese! Best pizza we’ve had in a while.

I love this place. It’s a nice mix between fast food and an old fashion sit down pizza place. Reasonably priced and good food.

Wasn’t too impressed with this place. I will admit I am from Chicago so I have a bias but the crust wasn’t very good and the sauce was a bit bland. Honestly the pizza was better cold than when it was freshly hot. Also had the garlic cheese bread with the whole grain bread. Bread was a bit soggy. Not a terrible pizza but I probably wouldn’t order from here again.

People are crazy giving this place 4 stars! Had salad/sandwich for lunch, both bland, boring, and far from fresh. maybe pizza is better?

I’ve been going here for years and I love their food; however in the last few months the service has really declined. During a visit a pizza was made and the cheese was done but the crust was not. They offered to put it back in the oven, after a brief battle they decided to make a new pizza fresh. The second pizza was delicious. Another time, delivery was chosen, it was stated due to rush times that the delivery fee would be double the standard fee. I declined to order that time. This last time, I had a BOGO(buy one get one) coupon, they honored this just fine. HOWEVER, I made my order ahead of my pick up time by magnitude of an hour. I arrived at the restaurant ahead of time and paid. I waited 10 minutes past when my order was to be originally picked up. Although it was not the servers true fault, he tried to placate me with a free desert. I declined, however the server did go and retrieve a gift certificate for my trouble.

I LOVE Davanni’s Sandwiches… seriously, love them! I have had other food there too, like some pasta and pizza. This location is super friendly, and like the others they have a party room and free WiFi! I’ve hosted a couple corporate training events here, and the party room was free with food orders. So it can definitely be pretty economical. And everyone loves the food. But if it’s just me… I’ll just pick up a Salami ½ sandwich on grain, maybe a 2-piece garlic cheese bread too. :) Yummmmm. If I were to ever leave Minnesota again, I will definitely miss Davanni’s!

I came here for the first time last night and ordered the ceasar salad, garlic bread and a deep dish cheese & sausage pizza. The salad was inexpensive and you got what you paid for. It was white iceberg lettuce with cups of packaged dressing and a bag of crutons with shredded cheese on top. Not exactly fresh or homemade! The garlic bread was good but heavy. It’s loaded with butter and cheese. The pizza was good but not amazing. They have really great sauce but the crust had a ton of oil in it so it tasted greasy. It’s kind of like a pizza hut crust where you bite in and the oil squeezes out on your tongue. It wasn’t a bad pizza but I don’t know if I’d crave it. The décor is dated and cheap. The restaurant is very clean and tidy but it has the ambiance of a Rocky Rococcos. That said, this could be the perfect place for families who want a place that is inexpensive and casual.

There are not a lot of places that aren’t pizza or Chinese that deliver to my house. I’m not reviewing the pizza here. I am reviewing the hot hoagies. I ALWAYS get the Southwestern Chicken on Ciabatta. It is so good that I will ignore how much I dislike their pizza and give this place 5 stars. This sandwich is one of my favorite guilty pleasures in the world. I can snog down a whole one without even blinking. nomnomnomnomnom… omg. If the pizza were as good as the sammiches, I’d give this place 12 stars if I could. The thing about the pizza is that it’s boring. The sauce tastes weird, and there are just SO many better places to get pizza. NOT so, for the sandwiches. This hoagie is my Achille’s heel. I suppose I should comment on the customer service. Always pretty good. Friendly on the phone. Competent, personable drivers who are always on time. Seriously, just thinking about this sandwich is giving me major A.D.H.D.

I have to say it. I LOVE Davanni’s. No matter which Davanni’s I go to, whether I pick it up or have it delivered or eat in, the food is consistently good, the quality excellent and it’s the perfect antidote for fast food. You can find salads, lasagna, pizza, hoagies(the best is tuna!) and it’s always the same. I think the pizza at Davanni’s is the best in the Twin Cities – don’t know why others think it’s not. The sauce is zesty, choice of crusts is great and toppings are generous. Today I stopped by the Roseville location prior to a business meeting. To my surpise they have replaced the typical soda station with a fancy, new $ 20,000 «MACHINE» that gives you ice and 125 different variations of soda out of one spigot! It was amazing and had me mesmerized for several minutes. The pop machine vendor explained that you can«personalize» your soda selection by first selecting the«Parent» soda brand(i.e., Coke, Pepsi, Fanta, etc.) and then a second screen pops up and you touch on which«Child»(variation) you’d prefer. When I touched«Minute Maid Light Lemonade» as a «Parent», up came about 8 different light varieties – including LIght Lemonade/Raspberry, Strawberry, Cherry, etc. It was really great, and the refills are free. Who says you can’t be surprised every once in awhile? I was like a kid in a pop shop(oh wait, I was in a pop shop…). :)

My wife and I had two coupons for free hoagies so we went to try it out. We got our food to go so I can’t say much about the atmosphere or staff. I got the Mexican hoagie(can’t remember name maybe chipotle something?) and my wife got the chicken parmesan hoagie. Overall they were good, but not great. The portions were huge and the sandwich was very dense. Mine tasted a bit lighter because of the salsa on it, but still a very heavy meal. The chicken parm tasted as you would think it would but nothing stands out about it. We came away feeling very full but not very satisfied. I’m not sure we will be back.

Davanni’s is like a warm Minnesota food hug. As a teenager I ate at this location almost every Saturday. For me Davanni’s is all about the hoagies. Their pizza is pretty meh, but the hoagies are what dreams are made of. They are served on toasted garlic bread and have mayonnaise, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and your choice of toppings. They make all of their food to order which is awesome! There is nothing worse than ordering a sandwich without onions to find them hiding in your lettuce.

I would have to say that Davanni’s pizza is probably one of the best pizzas I have had in the twin cities. Basically everything about the pies are good. I would definitely recommend anyone that likes pizza to at least go try it. I have only done the traditional pizzas, but the calzones definitely look good too.

I read raving reviews about this place since I’ve moved to the Twin Cities. I was excited to try this place. I was extremely let down. I got a personal pizza and a hoagie. The hoagie was overloaded with crappy dressing and had a weird flavor. The pizza was pretty bad, like it came out of a high school cafeteria. I’ve had dozens of other pizzas that are wayyy better. The place is like a glorified Pizza Hut, but not any better.

Let me preface this by saying while Roseville is probably my most frequent location I think there is only one of the restaurants I haven’t been to. So, there is Coon Rapids, Riverside, Uptown, Arden Hills, St. Paul, and Richfield for me. I have found the experience great at every location. Like many Davanni’s devotees I am a creature of habit. It is usually the pizza(works deep dish of course) and then the hoagies. But I’ve been making myself branch out and try the salads and other offerings. Been going here since they had a different name which I cannot remember and it is the place I love for pizza. Since we do not have one too close to us I’ve found the pizza sauce and the frozen pizzas at the grocery store. Not as good as going there but nice to keep in the freezer. I wonder about the bad reviewer. The two times I have ever had an issue with the food, my dish was promptly replaced and accompanied by a coupon for a future visit. While we all write these reviews I think it is important to be responsible about advising a business about an excellent experience or a poor experience. I’ve done that and it is funny how that works. There is another restaurant a friend and I really noticed how our waiter went above and beyond and we told him and his manager how pleasant he made our experience. We’ve been back a couple of times since and if he is there we sit in his area and he always remembers us and we always get great experience.

I’ve only had the pizza and cheese bread here. It’s not too bad. The crust is thin and cripsy. The toppings are tasty and plentiful. They aren’t too heavy on the sauce and the sauce is pretty run of the mill. The cheese bread wasn’t anything to write home about. It’s not a bad experience, but it’s not the best pizza joint in town either. The restaurant itself is quaint and definitely some place to bring the family. They serve alcohol, which is a bonus. There was a really loud blue grass band playing when I was there, so you can go and check out some live music if it tickles your fancy.

My friend called today and asked if we were still on for lunch. I said sure — anywhere you want to go? Without hesitation and with much enthusiasm the answer was Davanni’s. When I said sure I even got back a «YESSSS!» and if he were there in person rather than on the phone I probably would have got a high five or whatever they call it when you knock fists. So I had my first Davanni’s in… what — 8 years? I think the last one I had was at the location(still there?) in Sunray. I had a hot turkey hoagie and bread sticks. Quite filling! The bread was soft and yummy. The turkey was good although I would have liked a little thicker turkey but I always want more meat. I am SUCH a carnivore. The bread sticks were hot and yummy. They came out first so we got to gnaw on those while we waited for our hoagies. My companion got a sausage hoagie and they gave him an extra one prepared a different way and asked him to let them know what he thought of the different way it was made. I thought that was pretty cool. He thought that was REALLY cool. I am really glad I went in their with someone initiated to the way of the place. Not that it was challenging to figure out — but it was lunch hour on a work day and the place was hopping. It made me nostalgic eating there as you get your drink and go sit and then they call you over an intercom to go pick up food as it is ready. We each made 2 trips — one for bread sticks and one for food. It was really fun and I will probably be back there again in the near future.

Good pizza. It’s a little differently prepped(sort of «upside down», with the sauce on top of the cheese), but I always enjoy eating there. Come to think of it, our office just ordered in 15 or 20 large pizzas from the Eden Prairie location, last week. I wasn’t really planning to have more than a couple of pieces, but I think I managed 5 or 6 by the time we pushed ourselves away and staggered off.:^P Needless to say, all of the pizzas disappeared in short order. No one walked away without a plateful. In general: Good pan pizzas. Nice array of the«ususal» toppings. Davanni’s is always a happy option for me, when, «Where should we get pizza?» comes up in a group. Used to eat alot of lunches at the one up in Roseville. The hoagies are a favorite, esp. the Roast Beef. It’s got the usual content: wads of roast beef on a hoagy roll, with sort of an itallian dressing, but the way they spin it up makes my mouth water. A whole roast beef hoagy is pretty much an ideal lunch for me.:D
