Before attending our first Zoo Boo I was looking all over the internet trying to find some tips on what to expect. Didn’t find a whole lot other than the banner page and that they were looking for volunteers. The concept is adorable and it’s nice to see that the proceeds go to the zoo. It’s fun to see all the kiddos and parents dressed up in their costumes. Some people really get into it. Tips: — Purchase tickets on line. We bought the family 4 pack for us and grandma and grandpa. We got to wait in the pre-paid line. –Arrive early. The lines are pretty severe. Those having to buy tickets. Eek. What a long wait they had. –Parking. Luckily we were able to find parking right by the entrance. There is a shuttle, but that’s way down by the State Fair entrance by 280. –Don’t start your own line and try to weasal in once the line starts moving. Nothing more irritating than line cutters and people who don’t have line etiquette. If they are passing out etiquette inside; grab some. Once inside, the lines move pretty quickly. There is whimsical music playing while swerving in and out the foot and stroller traffic and people stopping to take their pictures in the picture cutouts you stick your head in. Lots of friendly staff and volunteers giving high fives and waving to the kids. Vendors handing out treats: Cub Apples Old Dutch Chips Candy Stickers Pencils Coloring Books and more… I thought there would be more animals out. Either they were in for the season, hangin’ out inside or just weren’t in the Halloween spirit. We moved through pretty fast and probably spent more time waiting to get in the doors. Honestly, we probably won’t be back until our little one is older and can appreciate the experience more. It was still nice to go to. Thanks, Como for putting this event on.
