This place is hoppin! They had a live band that was really good. Their food was good and the people were fun. It’s an older crowd out dancing to classic disco and other tunes. The place is spacious and the staff is great! I wanna go back!

Well, it’s not a nightmare, but it’s no dream. The liquor selection here is your basic Fargo fare forgetttable stuff, I asked for three things before they had something I wanted last time I was here. And, I wasn’t asking for specialty scotches, I asked for stuff like Red Stag, and the bartender looked like I was speaking in tongues. Anyway, I’ve been here three or four times since it’s by my house, and it’s an underwhelming experience all-around. The bartenders aren’t mean, nor are they warm. The clientele is that classic suburban mix of people who actually enjoy fifth-rate cover bands, guys in camo jackets, and woman with those big poofy Wisconsin haircuts. The food is ok, by no means terrible, but by no means worth a trip there. The décor is atrocious, but you don’t dine in Shoreview for the cutting-edge ambiance, so no points docked for that. I If you happen to find yourself in this area and are craving a greasy yet competent bacon burger and a bourbon in a slightly dirty glass, this may do the trick, but, Grumpy’s Roseville is right down the road, and I think it’s a much better experience all-around. To be fair, I’m not really a fan of anywhere-middle-America-suburban-diners, so I’m not surprised I don’t love it… maybe you will… especially if there is an Eddie Money cover band and you happen to love Eddie Money… or happen to actually be Eddie Money.

Not necessarily much to look at on the inside, but the food here was pretty decent. I had the beef tips and the Jack Daniels sauce was okay. The tips didn’t come with anything on the side, but the sides were actually decently priced.

So I have been here on several occasions to see a Band but I never ate the food here. I always thought this place would be your typical bar food. The food here is great! According to our server, they make a lot of things in-house. I was expecting the usual Sysco or Apppert’s food or worse yet Applebees. Anyway, the Reuben, beans, chili, and sweet potato fries were awesome. My friends had the burger and the fish which was also good and looked good. I recommend checking the food out here. I don’t know what is up with the low stars? Maybe it is for the atmosphere and they never ate here?

I’m basing this review on my experiences here during lunch and happy hour. I’ve never been here at night or on the weekends so I’m not sure what happens after the sun goes down. If you go for lunch, get the daily special it’s usually the best option. They recently trimmed down their hefty menu which was a great idea, but they also removed some of my favorite options :(On the plus side, they did make a wrap that was no longer available. That’s the great part about this place: the customer service. Every server I’ve ever had has been friendly and upbeat. They all seem to enjoy working there and it shows. Overall, the food isn’t spectacular but it’s not the worst either. Happy hour is cheap and if you like to gamble the wheel pays out more often than the pull tabs. A good suburban bar that’s not trying to be anything but.

I have to admit, I never thought I’d end up at the Blue Fox. I always figured it was a total dive probably full of local alcoholics. But, I was totally surprised. It’s a well-kept bar, with a decent menu, and live music. There was apparently a cover, which I was not expecting, but other than that it was a good experience.

Decent bar food and good prices. You can’t expect too much out of a bar and grill. They deliver on the food and the beer with usual fanfare. I wouldn’t get too caught up in lower star reviews if you don’t go through the front door with sky high expectations. I also wouldn’t make it a must visit eatery if you have a short list of places you absolutely need to eat at.

Again, a great meal, fast service that was friendly and very nice people! I really do like this place. The could use an upgrade in décor, but this won’t stop me from coming back! Kudos to the chef! The food goes on the plate with some love, and it shows!

Humph. The owners should think about just paying a homeless person to burn it down. At least this HORRIBLE place would be gone from the face of the earth, and they would get an insurance check. What’s wrong with this place you ask? Service, Food, overall cleanliness, clientelle… Everything. I’d rather stay at the hotel from«The Shining» than come back here.

Pricey but fun… Women’s bathroom is GROSS and tiny. Food is so-so but not great. I go more for the atmosphere — good for people in their 30’s and up.

I don’t know why I’m giving this place 2 stars. I just didn’t dig it. Mainly, the location, the clientele, the atmosphere… nothing appealed to me. Went there on a Saturday night, there was a band playing music I mostly have never heard before, and the ones I have, was mostly country-ish. The band was a little easier on the eyes than the customers, but that doesn’t say much. It looked like a diner that belonged in a 1970s scary movie’s first scene. We wanted to snack on something, so we ordered the nachos, which were not good at all, and had big chunks of lettuce on top, more than would come on some salads. I just can’t explain how bad the nachos were, and if you can’t get nachos right, you probably can’t get much else right. I guess the 2 stars are for the bar tender who was generous with the alcohol in my mixed drink. I don’t get it. This place isn’t too far from the civilized world. Why did it look like a small town diner where people still dress like they’re stuck in the 80s? I’d say that I’d go back to see if I missed something the first time, but the likelihood of me going back is next to none.

I liked this place. It felt safe for two females to go into, I like that you can see AND hear the band(Citizen’s Arrest the night we were there, awesome ‘new country rock band out of Minneapolis’ as they put it) from outside. Was this place a Baker’s Square or something at one point? It has all those weird domey windows on the outside, but that sort of lent it a less oppressive air from the inside. Sound was good here; not so loud you have to shriek at your friend at the top of your lungs, loud enough to enjoy. Dance floor was small but adequate. At least they have one here. Service was just fine and prices were not outrageous($ 5 for a gigantic draught beer). Will go back if that band plays there again!

The Blue Fox is a pretty decent bar if your into watching live music or catching a game on the big screen. They feature most of the better cover bands in the cities regularly, and have a pretty good sound system. It’s always funny to watch people try to dance here because the dance floor is tiny, but shortly after the music starts on any given night the dance floor becomes packed very quickly with people of all ages. Pretty fun bar with decent bar food and a small town feel. Beware, the bathrooms are tiny, so on the weekends when it’s busy and they have live music, there is usually a short line for the men’s room and a mile long line for the women’s. Although it can get pretty packed in here, the service has always been good and I’ve never left without having a good time!

This was stop 2 of our neighborhood birthday party night. We had just eaten and spent a goodly amount of time at Trappers Bar and Grill when we decided to drive home. We had enough for two cars and I was the designated driver for one of them. On the way home, our car got a call that the other car was turning into the Blue Fox. We turned around, but when we got there, the other car was nowhere in sight. It turned out that the caller wasn’t obvious about it, so the driver didn’t believe the 5 drunk people in back when they said they had called us. She had one of the passengers call us back and talked to us on the phone before she would believe them. Eventually, they arrived and we spent the next 3 hours or so drinking and dancing. Like Trappers, this is another typical local bar. Small dance floor, a bar, elevated tables with bar stools, large screen TVs, and games. «Dive» bar? Maybe. Or maybe I just have to understand what people typically mean by «dive bar.» We didn’t have any food, but the band was good(and LOUD – I feel so old), people seemed happy with the drinks, and a good time was had by all.
