I remember when Roxy’s first opened, the line at lunch time extended out the door, not very many at lunch time today. The«burger» I was served today bears no resemblance to the original. The meat was somewhat inferior, the condiments were not like the original(way too much ketchup and not enough mustard and onions), and the bun wasn’t too fresh. I used to eat there once or twice a week but in the 80s the quality started to decline, by the late 90s I seldom ate there, the last time I was there was about 2 or 3 years ago. My wife and I were so disappointed at that time, we didn’t return until today. Sorry to say things haven’t improved. I wonder who writes all those favorable reviews? On the brighter side the staff seemed pleasant and efficient.

Awesome burgers and honestly one of the best tilapia sandwiches I’ve ever had! Super great nice people. Awesome experience.

Do you want to go to a hidden gem? While traveling through St. Joe, MI, right on Business 94, there is a place called Roxy’s Hamburgers. The food is freshly made and freshly cooked, while you wait. And one awesome burger! The fries were hot as well. Friendly staff! When my wife & I were leaving the girl at the counter said they have the best onion rings! We will be trying those on our next visit!

The staff was amazingly friendly and took time to accommodate all 13 of us, mostly loud kids. The food was out pretty quick considering all of it was freshly made. The burgers were delicious! They’re priced slightly higher than fast food but 10 times as good. The kids meals are all good sized and come with a huge serving of ice cream. The DX burger for adults comes with olive tapinade which is their specialty. It’s a pretty generous portion too. Well worth a visit.

Because it is next to the high school, when I was 14 – 18 I’d come here after school a lot. I love their burgers sooo much.

The food was good for the price. Do not get fooled by the ½ lb fries. I got the same amount as my friend who got the regular fries and I paid more. The place is pretty chill, has the 50s feel to it.

New to the the area, Roxy’s burger were very good. Nice big hearty burger and the onion rings were also good! We will be back.

A favorite! I love the deluxe burger. Green olives make this burger the best! Love the facelift, though i loved the jukebox and old pictures.

Back in the day I would have rated this 3 – 4 stars. The burgers were great, the fries were the best in the city. Sadly, Roxy’s has changed ownership, and nearly everyone I’ve talked to has lamented the decline in quality. Perhaps it is nostalgia poisoning objectivity, but I don’t think so. The new burgers are thicker, with bigger, dryer buns. The fries were soggy and limp. Hopefully the new owner will see the light and return to the style of the days of yore. Time will tell.

I love coming to Roxy’s. The pork tenderloin sandwich is the best, with a side of cheese nuggets. I wish I could find a similar sandwich in Chicago, but I guess that’s what just makes coming back here all that much better.

Super friendly and prompt service. Tasty deluxe burger with onion. Didn’t think I would like the olives but they are in relish form and tasted pretty good on the burger. Dining area was nice and clean.

The newly renovated dining room is a clean sweep from the old place, literally. I’ve never seen the place kept up as well as it is now. Gone are almost all of the posters and other decorations from the walls. All the model cars and knick knacks are missing as well, along with the layers of dust on them. This place is exactly what it needs to be. Great golden oldies playing on the stereo, a nice clean dining room with a simple 50s era décor. The food is just as good as ever(order a Deluxe if you enjoy a good olive burger) and now eating in is just as enjoyable as the food itself. If they can keep the place cleaner than the old owners did, I predict many more years of Roxy’s dominance as the best burger joint in St. Joe.

Halfway though my burger, I contemplated whether or not I’d be willing to sell my soul for one of these double-cheeseburgers. Consensus? Hell yeah! I give them 4 stars for the burger, 2 stars for the service. Came in, no one greeted us. It took a few minutes for the girl to come out. And then she just stared at us. I mean, wtf? It’s lunch time, on a Saturday afternoon, and there is only 1 other person in here. If you would like the place to stay open so that you can keep your job, it wouldn’t hurt to be a bit nicer to customers who come through the door. And she managed to mess up my burger: 1) Asked for the deluxe, olives on the side 2) Asked for bacon What did I get? No olives, no bacon. If the burger wasn’t so good, I would never come back here again. Oh, and to top it all off, their jukebox stole 2 of my quarters. The burger was still pretty freakin’ delicious despite all that.

I live in Virginia but always tell my friends, who hanker for a great, «old fashioned hamburger or cheeseburger,» that the best joint in America is Roxie’s in St. Joseph, Michigan. Why it isn’t a national landmark I’ll never understand. Mmmm, good!

One of the best burgers ever. They are not the quickest places around but perfection takes time. Order only a hamburger, fries, fried cheese balls, and a shake and you are set for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

Always good, somewhat slow, always fresh. Expect your typical diner food — burgers, fries, and anything fried. Try the fried mushrooms! The décor is reminiscent of a ‘50s diner, including a working jukebox. It’s a fun place to go to get away from the stresses of the world and enjoy simpler times.
