Just a solid place! I have had the buffet several times and recently just got takeout. Nothing fancy on the inside of restaraunt who cares? Keep delivering great food. I will continue to support this place. Too many bad places come and go in this area, thinking they can doop the consumer with bad food. This is not one of them, please support this place.

We enjoyed a great meal and great service at Memories of India. The wait staff explained the menu for us ethnically declined individuals. The food was amazing! Our waitress was prompt but not overbearing. A daily lunch buffet is our next choice so we can enjoy many entrees at one meal. Great place!

Space is still odd, as its in a small shopping center and has a cafeteria feel. The food is great, and their service is solid. The lunch buffet is awesome — great selection and they keep it stocked fresh and hot. Even when crowded, there’s plenty of room! Worth checking out!

I’ve been here several more times during lunch for takeout and the food has been consistent. Since I don’t have much time for lunch, I’ll just grab a to-go container, load up at the buffet, and they’ll have naan ready for me when I go to the register to pay. At $ 10, it’s a STEAL. VERY happy when I get my butter chicken fix. ^_^

Awesome Indian food, tikka masala was good, curry good and the korma was great. We also got some garlic nan that was pretty great. We were the only people in the place on a Friday night so I hope more people discover this place! I love having a good Indian place here in St. Joe.

The food was all very good. Price is comparable to other indian restaurants we have dined in. We had the samosas, garlic naan, aloo gobhi, rice, and chicken tikka masala. It took a bit of time for our entrees to come out. We got water refills when our glasses needed them and that was without issue. Getting our check and take home boxes was extremely slow. There seemed to only be one waiter for the restaurant which it was only us and another table when we came in, and at least 3 more tables and several carry out orders upon us leaving. Delicious food and we would definitely return again next time we are in town.

Excellent flavor! Try the paneer makhani and garlic naan. Get a mango lassi for dessert! Our server, Eddie, was extremely friendly, personable and attentive.

Have eaten here at the lunch buffet twice. So good, so good, so good! Looking forward to going again! Only $ 9.50 for fresh food and decent selection. The staff was super friendly with us both times we went. So thankful for this gem in southwest michigan!

I wasn’t crazy about the lunch buffet, but decided I had to try dinner… And I am glad I did. My goat curry was very good, as was the naan.

Go for the food — you won’t be disappointed. The service will be iffy. The décor is great — for 1970. But — try this — ask one of the staff to explain the selections,(allow 10+ minutes) they will so gladly explain the current dishes and and which part of India they are from. I’ve heard about lentil soup for so long and never tried it before. Oh man. I wish they had a drive through just for Lentil Soup. Where else can you get Indians to lovingly explain their food to you and the prices are great.

We ordered take out on Labor Day. Very happy with the flavor of the dishes! I would have to agree with the other reviewer — ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and was disappointed with only discovering 5 chunks of chicken in a $ 13.00 entrée. The smoked eggplant(baghrat biryani ??) was my favorite– it always is. We also ordered the spinach paneer. Three entrees and rice and naan ended up costing over $ 45. Talk about killer profit margins! Decore seemed okay. Space is kind of big and airy — very different than Bombay Cuisine in Grand Rapids(has an ambiance which I prefer). Taste-wise this place is a solid 4 stars. The portions seemed smallish or over priced when you end up paying $ 3 per person for rice and another $ 3 for two pieces of naan. Can’t comment on the service since we ordered take our. Would go back. Seems like the lunch buffet is the way to go.

The food was fantastic, and the service very kind and attentive. The ambiance is nothing to write home about(though is very clean), but we weren’t expecting anything fancy. We would definitely go here again for lunch, a casual dinner, or take out!

My husband and I decided to try Memories of India tonight. The first thing I noticed, was the attire of the wait staff. If the uniform was«dress like you are going to clean out your garage», then they were spot on. The food was great! But that’s it. It was the worst, and rudest service we have ever received. I had no fork, we had no plates, and my drink never showed. I pointed it out to the waitress and she seemed put out to do her job. I finally got up and went over to the group of employees standing around, to ask for a fork and some plates. One employee gave me eye contact and proceeded to ignore me. I finally had to get the attention of someone else, to get something to eat our(now cold) food with. We received NO apologies for anything! No one checked to see if we liked our food but they did refill our water. I was hoping to like this place, especially because the food was so good. Unfortunately, with service like that, we won’t be back!

Don’t be fooled by the décor. What they lack in décor they make up for in flavor. We had the Butter Chicken and the Curry Chicken and it was equally as good. Pairing the Butter Chicken with the dill naan was a flavor explosion. The waitress(Sylvanna) was very knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to recommend different choices by asking questions to find out what type of spices we liked. The service was great. I will definitely be returning. Also the yogurt drinks are delicious!

The food is great, especially if you are a vegetarian. And the price is great too. The space is interesting, but they just opened so it’s cool. The service is a little slow and disorganized but again, they haven’t been open long. It will get better. Overall, this place is really good.

Glad St Joe finally got an Indian restaurant. No liquor license though. It is new so the service is very slow, and the inside still needs character and an identity. The food was good. Like another poster, the chicken curry only had 5 pieces of chicken and tons of sauce. But it was very delicious. Well balanced and seasoned. The lamb korma was very good also. I would like to come back once they work the kinks out and train the servers better. Way to much wait time.

I found the food to be good but the quantity was very small. For instance, I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and there was 5 pieces of chicken in the whole dish. The dish cost over 11 dollars. The lamb daal was very good as well, but I found it curious that rice and Naan was extra. The entrees were given without any rice nor bread. That’s like having to pay extra for the bun at a burger joint. The service was bad but that that should be an easy fix.

I liked it! The food was seasoned and spiced very well. The naan was cooked perfectly. It’s very nice to have an Indian food option in SW Michigan. It’s no Saffron(kzoo) but it beats India Garden(Mishawaka). I look forward to coming back.
