This place is gorgeous! It’s on a hill, and has real wine caves. Take the tour if you can! My boyfriend and I came here on Valentine’s Day. I’m not giving 5 stars because our tour guide was 20 mins late to our tour. He was great once he got there, but punctuality is important if you are tying to check out multiple wineries, like we were. We had a picnic after in the picnic area, which was lovely and very romantic. My boyfriends uncle is a member here, which made our experience more enjoyable.

Reserved cab with dark cherry chocolate was really good. And a friendly service. Nice place, definitely recommended.

Amazing chocolate, cheese and wine — need I say more? Okay, okay I will. The people who work here are extremely friendly, polite, professional, and knowledgeable. I am by no means an expert wine connossueir(okay I am not even a connossueir, I just live in Napa and drink a lot of wine) but the wine was absolutely delightful. My favorites were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Rose and also the Pinot Noir. We had the wine and chocolate pairing and I never knew until this day that those two went so well together. There goes the paleo diet. We also ordered the charcuterie platter which was delicious and beautifully presented. In case you can’t tell, I most definitely recommend you go here for a wine tasting. You won’t be disappointed. And last but certainly not least, I have to mention once again how superb the customer service was at this establishment. This alone would make me come back again.

What an amazing experience. Dean was great. Made us feel very welcomed and explained the history of the Napa wine industry and evolution. When you visit here please make sure you ask for Dean aka the bald machine(well that’s what he called himself) We will come back again!!! Pour was great as well!

Everyone is always so nice and laid back. I love bringing people here when they visit me and my husband. Love the 2013 Rutherford Hill Chardonnay! Yum yum! Pick up some of the chocolate blueberries on your way out! The view outside is amazing and there is a lovely area to sit and eat lunch outside.

By far one of the best experiences I have had a winery in a long time. The staff was great and the wine delicious. I fell in love with the Rose and ended up joining the wine club after really hitting it off with the tasting. I also got the cheese and meat tray. Talk about an amazing stop in Napa I wasn’t expecting. Shout out to the guy who helped us. I can’t remember his name but he looked like Howie Mandel. We will be back with friends next time to enjoy your wine and wine club member event.

They have a wonderful tasting room and restaurant area. We did the pairing and sat outside on the patio since it was a beautiful day. They have several tables and patio area that you can sit at. I loved the Rhiannon red blend and bought a bottle!

This was a great place to come and relax during a tasting. We had the Napa Passport so we got 2 for 1 chocolate tastings. It was really good. I would never have thought to pair white wine with chocolate. The environment was very laid back. We did our wine tasting on a couch in their main room. Dog friendly, indoors and out.

Enjoyed the wine and chocolate pairing. Fabulous staff to guide us through the tasting and ended up purchasing a bottle of everything we tasted … oops, but I will remember the winery and the fabulous experience for many years to come. They also have beautiful grounds and a cork tree, not something you see at every winery.

Chocolate and wine? Yes please! Rutherford gives the unique option of a chocolate and wine pairing tasting. Their chocolates are all made in house, and encompass all varieties. They pair amazingly well with their wines, and you’ll get four chocolates with four wines(both red and white) in a tasting. We had our tasting at a large dining table as we were a large party, but they also have sofas and cushions for you to sip and relax on. They also have a picnic area out back, and are one of the few wineries to offer food options with your tasting. For the chocolate tasting aspect alone, this place is worth a visit. They are also reservation only, but that is a huge benefit as it keeps this place from getting overly crowded and allows you to enjoy your wine and chocolate in peace.

This is one of my favorite wine stops when tasting with my cousin who is a member here. Who doesn’t love chocolate and wine? My favorite has to be the white chocolate mmm. They did some rearranging last month because our usual couch corner was replaced with a larger table. We were seated at a large round table and once the couch open up they moved us over. Everyone is so pleasant and welcoming like walking into a cozy living room. I love all the wines… you must stop and buy the chocolate.

One of the things I really love about Rutherford Ranch is that they are very down to earth and make you feel at home. Many of the wineries out here in Napa may be a bit snooty and condescending depending on their stereotypes of you. At Rutherford, we were greeted warmly and helped as if we were family friends. Our server Sue did an amazing job with us. We bought the Chocolate and Wine Pairing($ 30 per person) and included the following 4 chocolates and wines: –Lemon White Chocolate Bark w/Sauvignon Blanc –Strawberry White Chocolate w/Pinot Noir –Pepper Toffee Milk Chocolate w/Merlot –Cherry Dark Chocolate w/Cabernet Sauvignon The Lemon White Chocolate Bark was my favorite chocolate, while the Cabernet Sauvignon was my favorite wine out of the selections. The Strawberry White Chocolate reminded me of a strawberry milkshake while the Cherry Dark Chocolate had some real cherry chunks, which were delicious. The variety of flavors was an enjoyable ride. Sue did an amazing job at walking us through the basics of pairing wine with foods, the process of producing wine, and answered all of our questions. She was personable, and really made our experience memorable at Rutherford. If you buy 3 bottles of wine upon leaving, you get one of the tastings comped for free! Overall, I had a great experience and the customer service. You can get great wine pretty much anywhere in Napa, but great pairings and personable staff members are what really makes or breaks the trip.

My friends and I bought a chocolate and wine pairing groupon for this place and had the best experience! We were given 4 chocolate/wine pairings. The chocolate was amazing quality! They have lemon-white chocolate that is mouth watering. The wines were paired nicely with the chocolates and we were given enough time to really soak in each tasting. Our host, Patricia, was the sweetest woman! She answered every question with eloquence and kindness. She also explained and described each pairing so well! I can’t speak higher of the customer service at Rutherford. They even let us walk through their vineyards after. Go buy their groupon and then visit this place!

We had a great time on our third stop of the Platypus Wine Tour at Rutherford Ranch. We sample about 4 – 5 wines for $ 15. Our group of 10 was seated at a long table in the tasting room. We were very happy to have the chance to do a wine and chocolate pairing. I ate more chocolate than I drank wine here, which was probably for the best. Most of the group really favored the white chocolate with lemon! Our guide was a really sweet lady who was very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Met Dean upon arrival, very friendly and helpful. Our sever, Chris, friendly, fun, and pleasant to talk with as you sip and taste. Chris does not overwhelm you or crowd you, so relax. Delicious wines, beautiful surroundings, and tranquil. Bring a picnic basket and leave smiling. Enjoy your visit. Cheers!

I made reservation for a group of 6 at 11:30AM, but there was an accident on our way over so I called and let them know that we would show up about 15 minutes late and they were very accommodating. I don’t drink so this review has nothing to do with my personal taste of their wine, but more on the service that we received and the winery as a whole. They gave us each 6 different types of wine to taste. We started off with their Chardonnay to the Rosé and then ended with the Cabernet. Everyone agreed on 2 out of the 6 so we purchased 2 bottles of the Chardonnay and a bottle of the Cabernet. Gregory was our sommelier. He was the sweetest and most attentive one out of the entire establishment. Very friendly and well-dressed, professional is probably a better way to put it. Very accommodating and easy going. He was so funny, while we were leaving… he told us he’ll see us again tomorrow. If I did drink, I would come back. Lol I really liked the chocolates that they gave us to pair with the wine, but I paired mine with water and they were still yummy. Hahaha Although, at $ 8.95/bag of about 3oz, it’s not cheap. We also bought a platter of cheese and salami to pair with the wine for $ 20, a very small platter, that is… everyone liked the cheese though. The place is very nice and clean. It would definitely be a beautiful place to have a nice gathering with friends or family for an anniversary or something of that sort. Definitely not big enough to accommodate a wedding though. My brothers already mentioned wanting to come back sometime soon so I guess I should make myself available to play designated driver again.

We got the 2 for 1 chocolate tasting deal on Travelzoo and it was truly the best tasting experience. We came this past weekend and it was on the cold/wet side with the storm and all. We were the first tasting appt so had the entire tasting room to ourselves. The room was beautiful, cozy and decked out with Christmas decorations and floor to ceiling windows. I really felt right at home in here. Our host was a young, funny, friendly gentleman that hosted us for 2 hours! He was knowledgable and made this tasting a 5-star experience. We ended up buying the Chardonnay and Zin on their offerings list. Truly, it’s a delicious Chard and nothing like I’ve tasted before. We also fell in love with a couple more bottles, one of them being the smoky Zin. Their wines are affordable and drinkable, totally up my alley. From start to end, we had the VIP treatment here at Rutherford Ranch. Best tasting experience of our trip.

This wine was pretty good. In the past I haven’t been a Zin fan, but I actually warmed up a lot to the red zins on this past trip to Napa. I bought a bottle of the Zinfandel here, and we drank it outside. Which is one of the reasons this place gets four stars. They have ample outside seating, and they encourage you to drink a bottle or a glass outside, and to eat food and picnic if you like. Because of permit laws, many locations can’t do this– some can’t sell by the glass, some can’t allow eating outdoors, etc. Another reason is that the service was really great– friendly and fun. We chose to do the wine and chocolate pairing(we had a buy 1 get 1 offer for it), and it was a great choice. I’m not normally a huge fan of pairing chocolate and wine(although I love both separately), but they made good choices here. The first chocolate was a lemon bark white chocolate, and it changed my world. I found out that this was made and sold by a local Napa Valley candy store, and I bought a bunch to bring home. Some of it’s even still left! :) The other white chocolate and the two real chocolates were also good. We drank a bottle of jammy, smoky red Zin outside and relaxed in the sun. Overall a really nice experience.
