Pennyweight

I thought this place was really interesting; full of quality and selection. If you’re looking for a gift for someone, this is a great place to find something.
What I thought was awesome was that they had portraits hanging on the wall and it wasn’t until I observed closer that the designs were made of insects! I was truly amazed and would love to come back here to purchase a special something for a special someone!
I can guarantee that you’ll find something new here and will find it to your liking.

It’s odd for me to like a store so much right off the bat, and odder still to take the time to review it. But I feel compelled to give praise where praise is due. This place is the bomb AND the balm.
Do you need a unique gift? Do you know a guy who is hard to please? Are you trying to impress your boss/​father-​in-​law/​riding instructor/​mentor/​mother-​in-​law-​to-​be? Get in here! Have one of the savvy and stylish employees show you around.
You will leave with an amazing something (or two or five) and the satisfaction of having spent your money in a small, thoughtful shop run by live people. Also, it’s local. In case you didn’t know, if you spend all of your money at Amazon and Target, places like this will cease to exist. And that is not the balm.

A trip to Pennyweight is a must if you’re looking for special gift ideas. I recently purchased some small gifts and stationary from Pennyweight and I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the products in the store. I love shopping at Pennyweight because I can always find something that I didn’t even know I was looking for, but that turns out to be perfect. Marcus & Wayne are St. Helena treasures and a visit to Pennyweight, Patina, and Palladium is well worth your time.

Every inch of this place screams quality, beauty, perfection.

This place has wonderful stuff, but just like everything else it St Helena it is way too pricey for the product you are actually getting. They have some very cute designer stationary like Kate Spade note cards for example, however, I have seen the exact same set of note cards in there for like the last 3 years and can’t help but wonder if the same lonely pack has been sitting there the whole time due to it’s 8 cards inside the box and it’s 24 dollar price tag. That’s on a PLAIN set. Now if you want some kind of design, god forbid, you are going to pay even more of a premium. They do have some wonderful pens in this place if you are in the market for a super fancy pen that you aren’t planning on losing. And the ladies that work here are super nice too. If you have money to burn and feel like burning it on over priced birthday cards or stationary packs, come here.

Whether you actually write with pen and paper, really intend to any day now, or just like the artifacts, Pennyweight is a fun store to browse. They have a lot of nice stationery, including some that seems to be handmade. They also have a few greeting cards and a great selection of Moleskine notebooks, including some styles I hadn’t seen other places.

Just shopping today and LOVE this store. They have all the hard to find stationery and fine writing instruments I have such a difficult time finding when I need… The clerk, Michelle, was very friendly and helpful. Definetely worth stopping by if you are in the area.
