This place is super-awesome. From the outside it looks like a grocery store, from the inside like a pharmacy. And it is truly a mixture of both. You’ll find a plethora of organic food, but also diet supplements and just regular drugs(it is a drug store after all). But what is really outstanding is their juice and smoothie bar. It ain’t cheap($ 8 per glass), but it is really worth its price, as everything is prepared in front of your eyes. I have chosen lean & green detox juice, with kale, celery, apple and some lemon for zestyness. It was a purifying experience! What might have been improved was that my drink was not cold, as the ingredients are taken simply from the storage room rather than a fridge. Well, I could have put some ice into my drink, but spoiling all this greenness with some ice cubes of questionable quality was not an option for me. Although, well, you never know. Maybe they do ice from the glacier sources in Antarctica? Nevertheless I really love this such unassuming place!

The«younger» guy in this place is not friendly at all. I asked for a certain chewable product, only shopping this store one other time and don’t know the layout of the products. He walked around and picked it up and said«it would be this one, that clearly says chewable on it.» OK then. I picked up a few other items and check out. I’m attempting to converse with him, he won’t make eye contact with me or even respond. At one point, two women walk in and he rushes with the rest of my transaction, grabbing my credit card from me and shoving it into the ATM machine to read the RFID chip. Says nothing to me, hands me my receipt and immediately walks away without so much as a «Thank you» or «Have a great day». I collect my items and turn to walk out, where I see him warmly greet and hug the customers that walked in, noting he hasn’t seen them in a while. Yea, I think it’s safe to say I won’t be coming back. Bummer, as I work in the area at a high end hotel, but I could not in good faith send any of our guests over to this store after my experience.

Nature Select, other than Angwin’s College Market, is one of the only independently owned organic markets in the entire Napa Valley. Napa proper once had Golden Carrot(now a vacant building)&Optimum Health(now a massage place) Nature Select has an extensive selection of vitamins&supplements. They have a bulk section. The pros are they have good sales&they’re local. They have fairly reasonable prices. The cons are the limited selection when it comes to food… while Sprouts is centered on fruits&veggies, Nature Select has hardly any. The parking lot is a challenge. So you’ll have a walk. The public lot near the Episcopal&Catholic churches is the best bet. The service varies. The owner is friendly, while the young man who was a cashier was chilly&awkward. The folks at are far more amiable. Nature Select is a way of supporting local business, but it could be better.

Had a smoothie based on the recommendation of the worker who was not friendly. The smoothie was expensive, runny and lacked in flavor, I didn’t even finish it. The one star is for the healthy aspect of it but just because it’s healthy, doesn’t mean it has to be disgusting.

I have ended up in this health food store a few times. All of the employees and the owner are helpful and seem to be enthusiastic about answering questions. I have had the green smoothie with ginger and it was fantastic. They have a gluten free aisle. If you are a regular you end up getting a discount which makes a difference over time.

I came upon this store randomly while walking around St Helena. I love to check out new alternative grocery/health food stores so I was immediately intrigued. The store is fairly small, with a decent vitamin section and somewhat small selection of groceries, including many gluten free options. There is a small freezer case in the back, next to snack items and a tiny protein bar selection. There is also a little display of all natural makeup options and some delicious smelling coffee beans in the back. I picked up a couple of snacks I’ve never tried before for fun(salmon jerky(a little too fishy) and a vegan mint carob cookie(not bad)). Some things were oddly overpriced(example: typically $ 6 all natural toothpaste was $ 10) but other things seemed average. I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop in here, but if I were local I would probably supplement my grocery shopping here occasionally.
